2 comments about No Mercy/Survivor Series: Tagged Classics.
- Alright, so the WWE is once again releasing some older PPVs in the hopes of making a quick buck. They've put out a few commendable pairs from the 2003 catalog, but I'm not falling for this one. In short, both PPVs have two good matches, while the rest is poor.
*****NO MERCY 2003*****
---There are a few good matches on here, but nothing that you need to pay money for. The opener features Rey Mysterio challenging Tajiri for the Cruiserweight Title, a match that is pretty exciting, but a tad short. For the second year in a row, Brock Lesnar defended the WWE Championship against The Undertaker at a NO MERCY PPV. The main event was a Biker Chain Match, and while not as brutal as their Hell-In-A-Cell Match, it's a still a decent match. However, it's clear from the getgo that a screwjob finish was on the brink. Perhaps the biggest highlight for most fans will be the grudge match between John Cena & Kurt Angle. I still think their best match together was Cena's TV debut on SMACKDOWN, but this particular encounter is a solid one. Other than that, the rest of the card ranges between "Acceptable" and "Boring". You'll get to see future champions Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero in "David/Goliath" matches against A-Train and Big Show (respectively); both are watchable, but not very good. The other semi-main event is the "I Quit" Match between Stephanie McMahon and Vince McMahon. If it weren't for the McMahons revealing the true story behind the contest, it would be criticized even more than it already is.
All in all, NO MERCY 2003 isn't bad, but for completists only.

*****SURVIVOR SERIES 2003*****
---I already have a longer review of this event somewhere in My Profile, but I'll give a short recap. Basically, the two Survivor Series Elimination Matches are very good, especially the RAW Match, which will go down as one of the PPV series' finest moments. And...the buck stops there. Kane & Shane McMahon followed up their heavily-praised Last Man Standing Match at UNFORGIVEN with a poorly-executed Ambulance Match. There's a WWE Tag Titles Match between The Basham Brothers & challengers Los Guerreros, which is solid, but not a must-see contest. The two main events are where this PPV falls very flat. SMACKDOWN's main event pits Vince McMahon against The Undertaker in a Buried Alive Match; this was a bloody beatdown for Vince, but the finish was beyond predictable weeks before the PPV took place. RAW's main event rematches Triple H against World Heavyweight champion Goldberg. I kinda like the HHH/Goldberg UNFORGIVEN encounter, but this one forced HHH to carry his opponent even more than before.
SURVIVOR SERIES 2003 does have two PPV-quality matches, but that's it.

OVERALL
---NO MERCY 2003 is a good example of why brand-only PPVs weren't going to work. And SURVIVOR SERIES has two great Elimination Matches, and the rest is flatout miserable. There's some minor interest in this Tagged Classics combo because the SMACKDOWN storylines complement each other pretty well (i.e. the Taker/Vince rivalry, and witnessing Cena's babyface turn). I always suggest going on YouTube to find good matches one poor 3-hour events. But if that's not an option for you, then only buy this set at a very cheap price, like 5 dollars.
- The "Tagged Classic" series are old WWE PPV events that they package together & release as a set together for those who didn't catch them back when they originally were released. And to answer the big question surrounding every release of a PPV since July of last year is that Chris Benoit has not been edited out of the events. These are just re-releases of the original PPV DVD events.
No Mercy 2003
SmackDown's No Mercy 2003 was just a two match PPV as the rest of the card just fell completely flat. Undertaker & Brock once again fought for the WWE Title but this time it was a Biker Chain (on a pole) Match that was real good but didn't (and couldn't) top their previous encounters like the Hell In A Cell match. Also on this card, Kurt Angle fought John Cena to one of Cena's best "wrestling" matches in his career & Mysterio vs. Tajiri was a great opener. The rest of the card as I stated was just a complete flop as Big Show defeated Eddie Guerrero for the U.S. Title in a match that played to Guerrero's weaknesses more than his giving the performances he's known for, Vince & Stephanie had a "I Quit" match that just wasn't good at all, the Bashams & A.P.A. was just decent, Benoit couldn't carry A-Train to a good performance as Matt Hardy couldn't do the same with Zach Gowen.
Survivor Series 2003
The road to the WWE's biggest PPV event (at that time) in WrestleMania XX started here as the Survivor Series. Various seeds for the upcoming months leading up to WrestleMania were planted here along with a few suprizes that you didn't expect at that time. The SmackDown Elimination Match featuring Kurt Angle, John Cena, Chris Benoit, Bradshaw, Hardcore Holly vs. Brock Lesnar, Big Show, Nathan Jones, Matt Morgan, A-Train. The RAW Elimination Match was built around being "the most imporant match in Steve Austin's career that he hasn't wrestled in" as Austin's WWE career was on the line here with Shawn Michaels, Dudley Boyz, Rob Van Dam, Booker T vs. Chris Jericho, Christian, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Scott Steiner. Other standout matches include the Kane vs. Shane McMahon Ambulance Match, World Champion Goldberg vs. Triple H, the Buried Alive match between Undertaker & Vince that saw Vince do what he does best...take a beating to the point where he got heavily busted open after the first punch. Other matches include Womens Champion Molly Holly vs. Lita, WWE Tag Team Champions Basham Brothers vs. Los Guerreros, and a backstage interview with Brock Lesnar during the show that teased what we thought would be an ultimate dream match.
In the end, No Mercy was a two match PPV that really isn't worth going out of your way to see while Survivor Series did it's job in ending & planting seends for future storylines along with giving up an entertaining card from top to bottom so I would only recommend this set if you can't find a cheaper copy of Survivor Series.
For Those Wondering Where To Find These Matches On Other DVD's:
John Cena vs. Kurt Angle = John Cena's "Word Life"
Vince McMahon vs. Stephanie McMahon = Vince McMahon's "McMahon"
Vince McMahon vs. Undertaker = Vince McMahon's "McMahon" & "Tombstone: History Of The Undertaker"
Kane vs. Shane McMahon = "Twisted & Disturbed Life Of Kane"

3 comments about FMW (Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling) - Final Encounter.
- This was my first FMW video, and it wasn't too good.
- Crazy Boy vs. Ricky Fuji: Crazy Boy is the younger cousin of Super Crazy. There are only some highlights. Some nice high-flying moves and creative counters. Frankensteiner, twisting sunset-flips, brainbustersMost of it was clipped, though. RATING: 1/2* - Two porn stars go one-on-one: Both are really hot girls. Flying Kid Ichihara referees the match. This is the worst wrestling match I've ever seen. I myself could not picture a worse match in my mind. This is the worst match in the history of professional wrestling, and that covers a lot of ground. El Gigante/Giant Gonzalez, The Big Show, Mick Foley, Axl Rotten, even The Sandman could wrestle more technically-sound than this. They did a clothesline that was so terrible-looking, I'd have trouble putting it into words. RATING: -9467694694697...Get the point? - Six Person Tag Team Match: This is intergender. It features names like Chocoball Mukai, Emi Motogawa, Kaori Nakayama, and some others. Again, highlights only. Not very good. A nice surfboard stretch, but otherwise it's bad. RATING: 1/4* - Samoan Gangsta Party vs. Sasaki & Hideki Hosaka: Eddie Fatu of the Gangsta team is Rikishi's cousin, and wears a Rikishi shirt. His partner is Matt E. Smalls. The Samoan Gangsta Party had a short stay in ECW, engaging in some matches against Mustafa Saed and New Jack, The Gangstas. This match is very bloody, but isn't that bad. There's some great spots. A chokeslam on a bunch of chairs. A tope through a table. A double chokeslam. A dive off of a ten-foot balcony. This one wasn't terrible. RATING: *5/8 - Kintaro Kanemura vs. Ryuji Yamakawa: These two are both from Big Japan. The match is very bloody, but it's rather good. They brawl backstage and a light tube is broken over Kanemura's head. Back at ringside, a nice Fire Thunder Driver (Jumping Sitdown Piledriver [like Rikishi did in his 1999-early 2000 WWF days]) off the apron through a ringside table and an amazing senton bomb by Yamakawa off of a balcony through a table is also featured!!! Yamakawa uses his double underhook face plant twice, and the move is quite a cool sight to see. This was a good hardcore match. RATING: ** - Mr. Gannosuke vs. Sabu: The match is rather short. Sabu gets in some of his usual slingshot/springboard spots, but the match ends when each uses a fireball against eachother. Ouch...the match was WAY too short and was way below my expectations. RATING: 1/2* - WEW World Heavyweight Title Match: Kodo Fuyuki vs. Koji Nakagawa(C): The match is very long, but it's also rather good. There's some brawling, and then some nice exchanges in the room. There's a lot of drama. A good match, but not great. RATING: **7/8 - Hayabusa vs. Masato Tanaka: Before the match, Jinsei Shinzaki (Hakushi in the WWF) enters and sits in the crowd to watch. Tanaka enters first. He's a former ECW Champion who engaged in several incredible battles with Mike Awesome. Hayabusa then enters, and if you're wondering who he is, I'll tell you. Hayabusa is a spectacular athlete with a dark gimmick. His character is a combination of The Undertaker, Edge, Gangrel, Vampiro, Great Muta, and Yoshihiro Tajiri. He plays a mysterious character, but unlike most guys like that, he's an incredible fan favorite. The guy has tons of finishing moves, including the Stardust Press (Shooting Star Press), the Firebird Splash (450 Splash), the Phoenix Splash, the Falcon Arrow (Vertical Suplex into a sitdown bodyslam/piledriver), and the H Thunder (side bodyslam piledriver [Tommy Dreamer's Dreamer Driver]). These two guys put on FMW's greatest match ever in the late '90's. While this isn't their best, this is a great match. Tons of psychology. Great matwork. Incredible spots. Terrific drama. Awesome bumps. The two have definitely done better, but for a U.S. fan that wants to see FMW at it's best, this is a good match. Hayabusa cuts a promo afterwards (w/out his mask). RATING: ***1/2 This Pay-Per-View was called "Backdrift," and while the main event and pre-main event was good, nothing else was too watchable. I really would recommend "The Judgment" or "International Slaughterhouse." The Hayabusa and Masato Tanaka videos are also good. The two announcers (Dan Lovranski ... & Don Watanabe) who speak English aren't too good, either. Not recommended unless you really want it.
- okay the first review was very harsh, but i agree that the first few matches well, ya know, like a vacuum i suppose. but once you get past that the matches (forgive me because i only saw it once and this is only my third fmw dvd so i forgot the names of a few) on the last half or 3rd are truly mind blowing. tis contains the 5th best match i've ever seen(1st: owen vs. bret hart, anyone, 2nd: Jerry Lynn vs. RVD, 3rd: Owen Hart vs. Shawn Michals, 4th: Step mother vs. negumikudo) and it is Masato Tanaka vs. Hayabusa. Simply put it is without a doubt this is the best combination of styles i've ever seen. not easily put into words so just check it out.
- Skip the first 3 "matches" they are a total joke.
Crazy Boy vs. Ricky Fuji- Clipped 3 moves total and its over. Grade F
Porn Star vs School girl- Grade F
6 random people?- Guy biting guys groin. Grade F
Ok, I didn't see those first 3 matches, I am pretending the DVD starts now.
Samoan Gangsta Party vs. Sasaki Hideki Hosaka- Solid match, lots of chairs, tables, and blood. Rosey and Umaga are the gangsta party. Grade C+
Kanemura vs. Yamakawa- Such a good match. Both are legends, and mixed in a solid wreslting matching with some good hardcore. I have seen Kanemura do better however. Grade B
Mr. Gannosuke vs. Sabu- For 10 minutes or so this match is looking great. Great wrestling and hardcore mixed in. We saw some insane leaps by both men. Chairs and tables had been used. Just when its getting good, they each throw fireballs at each other and it's a Double DQ. Grade B
Kodo Fuyuki vs. Kuroda- Finally a nice solid match. It went awhile, and we saw a lot of weapons. The only thing that didn't work was both men had a clothesline as a finisher. They both hit 20 clotheslines during the match, none of them looked good. Grade B+
Hayabusa vs. Masato Tanaka- The other person review is right, this isn't there best match ever however its great! Amazing mat wrestling, with many high spots. Its not as hardcore as some matches, but it's a beautiful wrestling match. I can't believe its almost 30 minutes long, it just flew by. Grade A
Bonus Matches
Hayabusa & Jinsei Shinzaki vs. Mr. Gannosuke & Kanemura- Amazing! Another example of an amazing wrestling match. You could tell Hayabusa had some really bad ribs but still went all out. Kanemura was knocked out legit from a pele kick from Shinzaki. Grade A
Kanemura & Fuyuki vs. Gedo & Jado- Fairly high paced match but only lasted 4 minutes. Grade C
Overall B+
A few very good matches, combined with a few solid matches. Everything was worth watching (not including those first 3 matches). Its true the commentary isn't too good, but the DVD is worth getting!

National Car Rental Center
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Tag Team Battle Royal:
Edge & Christian V. Hardy Boyz V. Dudley Boyz V. Acolytes V. Headbangers V. Too Cool V. Mean Street Posse V. Godfather & Mark Henry
Good opener that had some great spots in it and was very good near the end. The Acolytes win. **3/4
Kurt Angle V. Steve Blackman
This match could have been better if Angle wasn't so green. Some good wrestling from Angle, but not a really good match at all. Angle wins. *1/2
Evening Gown In A Pool Match for the WWF Women's Championship:
Ivory (Champion) V. Miss Kitty V. Jacqueline V. BB
three letters...DUD. However, you did get to see Kitty's little puppies so...it's all good. Kitty wins by the way.
Hollys V. Viscera & Rikishi
Not a good match but was some what watchable. The Hollys win. *1/2
Triple Threat Match for the WWF European Championship:
British Bulldog (Champion) V. Val Venis V. D'Lo Brown
Good match that could have been better if given more time and if there were better wrestlers in there. Val wins. ***
Steel Cage Match:
Kane V. X-Pac
short match. Good, but not that good. That seems to be the theme of this ppv. kane wins. ***
WWF Intercontinental Championship:
Chyna (Champion) V. Chris Jericho
I hate to say it, this was the match of the night. However, that doesn't mean that it's a awesome match. it was actually solid and good. Jericho wins and wins the title for all man. No not mankind...for all man. I am not sexist. I just don't think Chyna was Intercontinental Championship material. ***1/2
WWF Tag Team Championship:
New Age Outlaws (Champion) V. Rock & Mankind
Good match that was better than what Foley says it was...but not that much better. Rock & Kind win but by DQ. **3/4
WWF Championship:
Big Show (Champion) V. Big Bossman
The storyline was awesome...the match wasn't. I can say that it's the only WWF Championship match that I have ever seen that was a DUD. Show wins.
No Holds Barred Match:
Triple H V. Vince McMahon
This match was, for me, hard to watch. There was way too many weapons and not even selling of the weapons. The did go just about everywhere in the building. Triple H wins. ***
overall, way too matches so the matches that needed time didn't get it.

1. Edge & Christian V. Hardy Boyz V. Dudley Boyz V. Acolytes V. Headbangers V. Too Cool V. Mean Street Posse V. Godfather & Mark Henry in a tag team battel royal_ this was prboloy the best choice as an opener. I would say that this maatch had its ups and downs with good teams like the hardys edge and christian and the dudleys but people like mark henry ruin this match. Anway this was a goo dfast paced match and given its time when its all said and done a job well done. Winner the Acolytes. Match Rating 7.5/10.
2. Kurt Angle V. Steve Blackman- Not that bad of a match. this was deffenityly not one of angls classics as even he could not carrie balckman thorugh this match. Not horriable match but one that could have been btter. Lots of techcnical wrestling by angle and he wins with a german suplex. WInner Kurt ANgle. match Rating 7/10.
3. Ivory (Champion) V. Miss Kitty V. Jacqueline V. BB Evening Gown In A Pool Match for the WWF Women's Championship- This was not a good match. This had no wrestling involved. The only thing that was good was how hot the women lookjed and at the end miss kity took her top off. WInner and new wwe womens champ miss kity. Match Rating 5.5/10.
4. Hardcore Holly and crash vs. Visicera and Rikishi- this was a filler> It was not a horriable match to put in there but it certainly was not the best one either. It was hard to watch rikishi movesz bery slow in the ring. A solid wrestling match but nothing great. WInners HArdcore holly and crash. MAtch Rating 6/10.
5. British Bulldog (Champion) V. Val Venis V. D'Lo Brown Triple Threat Match for the WWF European Championship- This was a really good triple threat match. this was when the british bulldogs carrer was winding down but he still did an awsome job in this match. Lots of back and forth action hear. Reallly good soild wrestling hear and i think that the british bulldog cariied this macth. WInner and new wwe europen champ the british bulldog. MAtch Rating 8/10.
6. Kane V. X-Pac in a steel cage- This could have been alot better if they gave this more time. This was not a bad match by any means but it could have been better. Your average cage match with a chair used in it and there was no blood in this one which was unusal. Good match. WInner Kane. Match Rating 7.5/10.
7. Chyna (Champion) V. Chris Jericho for WWF Intercontinental Championship - this was a average match and the one thing that made me mad about this was chyna was in it. DOnt get me wrong sdhe was always strong in the womens division but she was not real sdtorng in the mens. THe one person that carried this match was jerico. Soild wrestling match nothing special. WInner and new wwe itc champ Y2J. MAtch Rating 7/10.
8. New Age Outlaws (Champion) V. Rock & Mankind for the wwe tag team titles- This wasd a good tag team match. EVerything flowed in this match from the funny parts by mankind to the soild wrestling by the rock they were an awsome team. Then the bad par comes when the dq happens that is what made this match suck. WInner by dq rock and mankind. MAtch Rating 6.5/10.
9. Big Show (Champion) V. Big Bossman for the wwe title- This was ine of the worst wwe title matches ver. I mean it sucked. WIthe the great storyline behind this and outting bossman over huge well it did not work to well seeing that the match was a 3 minute squash by big show. ANd the only possative ting i can say about the match was it saw albert chockslammed through a table. WInner and still wwe champ the big show. Match RAting 2/10.
10. Triple H def. Vince McMahon in a No Holds Barred match- This was a very brutal match. This i would usually say that if u had a non usual wrestler in hte mani event the match would suck this one did not. This had alot of items and tons of blood tables cahirs trash cans everting this was an awsome mani event. WInner HHH> Match Rating 8.5/10.
Well that raps up another. I would give armageddon 1999 a grade of 65.5/100 which is a 66% whcih means this is a good ppv. I would say that is right and if u can find this for the right price i would buy it. If u can tell me if my review was helpful or not i would apreciate that. Thanks for your time.
- jericho vs chyna with miss kitty wwf intercontential championship match
this was a back and forth match which contain some very good and unique spots this match is kinda of sort to but both wrestlers managed to get it done this is a debated match some people say it was a great match others say it was just average i am in the middle of the debate saying that the match was very solid i would almost consider it great i think if the match earned another 5 minutes it probably would have been a great match this match was during the time chyna was the face of women divison in the wwf along side the sexy ivory i do not care what men say about the feature of chyna while she may had similar characteristic of a male deep down inside she was a strong and independent woman who wanted to proved that she was just as capable as male wrestlers in the wwe and i think she did just that this was also the time when chyna started to behave as a regular woman would present herself she even started to develop sexy appeal from 99 to 01 especially when she was working with eddie guerrero i was almost jealous of him after that it was all she wrote jericho had just made his debut in the wwf in a couple of months and already was performing as if he had been there for years his feud with chyna is one of the more enjoyable feuds i witness in my seven years of watching this was one of the best man vs female feuds i have ever viewed next to his other lady and gentleman feud with stephanie mcmahon this match featured chyna display some incredicle athelism moves and counters toward jericho and jericho being a buthole from start to finish and i enjoy every minute of his heel personality this match gets an average rating of three and a half stars due to all the good spots involved in the contest probably would have given it four stars if the match was a tad longer u know who wrote this joe black i black and proud people and better than ever
- 1st match tag team battle royal winners apa. 2nd match kurt angle vs steve blackman winner kurt angle. 3rd match pool match miss kitty vs bb vs ivory vs jacqulene winner miss kitty but match was stupid. 4th match hardcore holly and crash vs rakishi and viscera winners the holly brothers. 5th match val venis vs the british bulldog vs d-low brown winner val venis. 6th match cage match kane vs x-pac winner kane. 7th match chris jericho vs chyna winner chris jericho. 8th match the rock and mankind vs the new age outlaws winners the rock and mankind. 9th match big show vs big bossman winner big show. 10th match triple h vs vince mcmahon winner triple h.
- armageddon was the last ppv of 1999 and they ended 1999 with this awesome ppv. this was one of the best ppvs of 1999 because it marks the birth of the mcmahon helmsley era!
1. tag team battle royal
the mean street posse vs. the dudleys vs. too cool vs. godfather and mark henry vs. the hardys vs. the head bangers vs. edge and christian 8/10

5. dlo brown vs. british bulldog vs. val venis 8/10
awesome match with great technical wrestling.
6. steel cage match

awesome cage match!!!!!! this is probably one of kanes best matches. it was awesome when kane did the diving clothesline off the top of the cage.
7. chyna vs. chris jericho 10/10
great match from these too. jericho finally defeats chyna and wins the intercontinental champ.
8. the rock and mankind vs. the new age outlaws 9/10
the rock and sock connection will always be one of the best tag teams.even though they lost it was still a great match.
9. bigshow vs. bossman 4/10
the worst match on this ppv. waste of time.
10. triple h vs. vince mcmahon 10/10

- the ultimate warrior and hogan blew the roof off
- Were people getting bored of Hogan being champ that Vince McMahon had to get the ol' Boofster pinned ? i think they should have kept Warrior and Hogan at the same power level between warrior madness and Hulkamania?, not one coming over the other.
Besides, waht kind of splaash was that at the end of the match to finish off 300 pound Hogan ?

5 comments about TNA Turning Point 2004 Destiny Awaits!.
- This was TNA's second 3 hour PPV and they delievered a better card here than Victory Road as far as in-ring action.
Tag Team Champions 3Live Kru (The Truth & B.G.) vs. Team Canada (Eric Young & Bobby Roode) - Nice tag team match but nothing really memorable.
Kid Kash, Kazarian, Matt Bentley vs. Hector Garza, Sonjay Dutt, Sonny Siaki - Nice six man X division match.
Serengeti Survival Match: Monty Brown vs. Abyss - This was better than the Monster's Ball match earlier in the night but there were parts where it just seemed the drag. The ending with Abyss taking the thumbtacks spot was the sickest spot I saw with thumbtacks since he landed on the back of his head.
Johnny B. Badd & Pat Kennedy (Simond Diamond) vs. Glen Gilberti (Disco Infernio) & Johnny Swinger - Filler, skip it.
DDP vs. Raven - Solid match between these two & this one match was better than DDP's whole WWE run.
X Division Champion Petey Williams vs. Chris Sabin - This is tons better than the Victory Road match with Williams & Styles since they let the wrestlers do the wrestling & not much interference from D'Amore.

Styles, Jeff Hardy, Randy Savage vs. Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash - Putting the whole Kings Of Wrestling storyline aside (including those Honky Tonk Man ripoff costumes Hall & Nash wore)...this was the best Hall looked thought his TNA run and the heel team did a great job making Styles & Hardy look good throughout the whole match. The big jip though was that Savage came out at the end & did a horrible pin on Jarrett & ended up pinning the match.
Steel Cage Match: America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X - Weather it's WWE or TNA...this was the best tag team match (to this point) that I've seen in years! Just great chemistry & the whole "losers can never team again" stipulation just added more to this encounter. Primetime's stop from the top is really something to see for yourself.
DVD extras just include backstage footage.
Aside from the one dud, this again was solid from top to bottom & worth the money weather you get this alone or as part of the TNA Anthology set.
- When I saw this show I considered it the best wrestling show I have EVER watched period.
Matches:
Tag titles: Team Canada v.s 3LK: strong way to open the show. It is amazing how much better TNA's Tag team division is than WWE's!
8/10
Kid Kash, Kazarian, and Bently v.s Hector Gaza, Sonjay Dutt, and Sonny Siaki: Average X-division tag match. But an average X-division match is better than alot of good heavighweight mactches
7.5/10
Monty Brown v.s Abyss- Serengeti Survival match: really stiff physical match. Ends with a sick thumb tack spot where the back of Abyss' head becomes a pin cushion! 8/10
New York Connection v.s Pat Kenney and Johnny B Badd: Pretty much a filler, but it's kept fairly short which is good. 5/10
DDP v.s Raven: Suprisingly a good performance from both men. 7.5/10
X Division title: Chris Sabin v.s Petey Williams: AWESOME X DIVISION MATCH. These two have INCREDIBLE chemistry. 9.5/10
AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy v.s Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Jeff Jarett: I was dispointed about no Macho Man, but his short appearance at the end actually drug the match down. Other than that is was a good tag match with tons of star power. Jeff(Jarett) and AJ do alot of the work. 8/10
6 sides of steel: Losing team must disband: AMW v.s XXX: Absolutly incredible main event! Primetime's hurricaranna was amazing, but there were MANY other strong points to this match!
10/10
Also I should note they did a parody throught the night of Vince Mcmahon and Triple H which was really funny. It leads to TNA showing the footage of TNA wrestlers greeding WWE Superstars in Orlando!
I suggest buying the TNA Anthology which contains Victory Road 2004 and Lockdown 2005 as well. (Two other great shows)
Final grade: A
- The PPV opens with Jarrett, Hall, and Nash dressed as Elvis and driving a car. They say they are the kings of wrestling and some other junk. It was funny to a point but nothing really speical.
Team Canada VS 3LK: Boring opener; BG James should really stop using his gimmick that got him famous. Of course TNA at the point was trying to find its place. I've never seen Team Canada wrestle a good tag match and they always win with help from Scott D'Amore.
Kid Kash, Kazarian, and Bently VS Hector Gaza, Sonjay Dutt, and Sonny Siaki: Siaki diffently looks like the Rock, doesnt he? Other then saying that, I have nothing else to say. Regular X-Division tag match.
Monty Brown VS Abyss- In my opinion, neither men can wrestle. Abyss is good in hardcore matches but his moves always seem to be the same. Surprisingly, it was a good match.
New York Connection VS Pat Kenney and Johnny B Badd- Suddenly TNA enters a time warp here they enter WCW. Johnny B. Badd's finisher is cool but the match sucks.
Raven VS DDP: I was surprised at how well this match went. There WCW matches were better but it was still good. Then Erik Watts shows up and screws up the match. I'll get back to the at the end.
Back to 2004.
X-Division Champion Petey Williams vs. Chris Sabin : Really good match.
OH NO, WHERE DOING THE TIME WARP AGAIN!!!
A.J. Styles, Jeff Hardy, Randy Savage vs. Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash: The one of the worst six men tag match ive ever seen. Savage comes in with about two minutes to go and fights off Hall, Jarrett, and Nash. He then pins Jarrett with one of the worst roll ups ive ever seen in wrestling history.
Steel Cage Match: America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X - Good match but I thought it was a bit overrated.
Also, The Vince and Triple H sketches were not funny. The only thing I thought was funny was how Tenay and West didnt act crazy when they took place. I got more respect for West and Tenay afterwards. Then Dusty Rhodes shows a clip of 3 Live Kru acting like idiots with Abyss greeting WWE stars as the filmed a commerical for Royal Rumble at the Universal Studios. TNA hasnt learned by now, WWE doesnt budge when someone mocks there product. A few years later BG James would attempt the same thing but that failed like this skit.
Two quick things I want to point out: I watched Turning Point 2004, Victory Road 2004, and every TNA PPV in 2005. The problem with TNA is outside interference. You have a tag match or singles match going on and its going really well. Then out of nowheres someone interferes and the match is ruined. I dont know TNA fans kept coming back for more but they did. Team Canada is a prime example and Jarretts title runs in TNA as well.
Anther funny thing I find about TNA is fans on Amazon. It's like someone reads a bad review for a TNA PPV and they get all there friends to click on the no was the review helpful button.
- TNA has long been mocking WWE for its decline in quality, and judging from the performance here at Turning Point 2004, they're likely to rise to replace the gaping void WCW left for the WWE to monopolize and get lazy with its quality.
This is the second 3 hour TNA ppv, and the first TNA ppv I've ever seen. It by far exceeds any WWE PPV of 2004 I've seen.
NWA Tag Team Championships
3Live Kru (C) vs Team Canada
I knew WWF's Road Dogg Jesse James and K-Kwik had ended up in TNA, but I had no idea they had basically transplanted their entire gimmick over to TNA! Complete with a different version of the song "Rowdy", Ron 'The Truth' Killings (aka K-Kwik) and B.G. James (aka Road Dogg) came down to the ring, spinning the same stuff from the WWF, what with the greeting "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages!" but with the obvious name changes, such as "NWA-TNA proudly presents to you, your NWA Tag team Champions of the woooooorld!!" etc. Team Canada, I could tell from the start, didn't look very appealing. Watching TNA iMPACT these days, I recognized Eric Young and Robert Roode there, working together. B.G. James isn't that great a wrestler, but he has incredible ring charisma which more than makes up for it. I didn't really like the match, but it was definitely a good one. (6/10)
Kid Kash, Kazarian, and Matt Bently vs Hector Garza, Sonjay Dutt, and Sonny Siaki
I had no idea who any of these people were, aside from Dutt and Kash, but this match was a brilliantly executed one, with the definite star being Sonjay Dutt. He's got amazing likeability and great high-flying and technical talent. This kind of match is everything high flying pro wrestling should be. (10/10)
"The Alpha Male" Monty Brown vs Abyss
I dislike it when no disqualification matches are given crazy names like "(Insert City Name) Street Fight" or "Extreme Rules" or in this case, "Serengedi Survival Match". Monty Brown proved to me that a brawler/power wrestler can be a justifiable superstar (and not just pushed because Vince McMahon has a tall fetish). Even Abyss showed a sort of great style and power reminiscent of the old Kane. Despite Abyss showing us his ugly naked torso, this match was a great power brawl that exceeded all my expectations. (9/10)
New York Connection vs Johnny B. Badd and Pat Kenney
To be honest, I don't remember much from this match, despite having viewed it only a few days ago. It wasn't very memorable at all, I suppose, and I recognized no one here, despite Badd being claimed as being a former WWE star and Intercontinental Champion. (2/10)
Diamond Dallas Page vs Raven
Not having been a WCW fan, my only impression of DDP comes from his horrendous WWF run, where he permanently made a name for himself as the asshole to end all assholes. This match was not really helping show off his wrestling skill, though he dominated Raven most of the match. Not a goodin. (2/10)
X Division Championship
Petey Williams vs Chris Sabin (C)
This was another show of TNA's strength over the WWE. Pure athletic talent. Although I was somewhat bored with the match towards the end, I could easily see the potential in each of them, and hope they move up to even greater stars. (8/10)
Jeff Hardy, A.J. Styles, and Macho Man Randy Savage vs "The Kings of Wrestling" Jeff Jarrett, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash
Despite being the second to last match on the card, it was hyped up as the main event. At the sight of Scott Hall and Kevin Nash reunited, I had a chilling disgust, remembering the times of greasy Scott Hall and monstrous Kevin Nash dominating WCW with the NWO and essentially burying it by holding so much power and refusing to put over anyone they didn't like. Thankfully they don't have that power in TNA.
And amazingly, they managed to work well with Hardy and Styles to put on a great match. Randy Savage was taken out of action earlier, so it was a 3 on 2, though really it was evened out by Scott Hall's obvious lack of wrestling ability. Most of what he did consisted of looking 10 years older than he was in 1999, and smacking Styles and Hardy on the head like a big bully. The others were phenomenal in their own right, and even Savage got a huge pop from the crowd when he showed up. (9/10)
Six Sides of Steel
America's Most Wanted vs Triple X
I know of Christopher Daniels from watching TNA iMPACT! and from his days in the beginning of Ring of Honor. He's never really impressed me, save for one match in ROH I saw in the DVD "Scramble Madness". While the match was far superior to anything the WWE puts out nowadays, I felt bored for most of it, up until the end when the superstars really started to pull out amazing spots, such as Primetime Elix Skipper walking along the top of the cage to where Daniels and Harris were fighting at the other side, and just as he's teetering off towards the ring, he jumps and catches Harris in a Frankensteiner off the top of the cage. From there, even more innovative and spellbinding spots followed, almost making me forget the boredom I suffered in the first half of the match. (7/10)
This being my first TNA PPV, if any of the others follow this standard, I can expect, with more publicity and star power, that TNA should rise to challenge the WWE's monopoly on pro wrestling and become a powerful presence in the business.
- I have been a wrestling fan since 1996 and have watched all kinds of wrestling. I have a wrestling DVD/VHS collection spanning over 50 all together. This is the most complete and accurate review of this DVD you will find. I hope you find this review helpful; remember to vote helpful or not helpful. (Note-Each DVD I review has a "Match of the DVD" award somewhere in it.)
TNA Turning Point 2004
TNA's second ever three hour PPV. The return of two legends in DDP and Macho Man take place on this event. Not all the matches are good, but overall it is a pretty strong show. The Main Event will be talked about for ages. Most of the matches are here due to the fallout from TNA Victory Road 04.
-Disc 1-
NWA World Tag Team Championships
3Live Kru(c) VS Team Canada
This was a solid way to start off this show. BG James and Ron Killings represented 3Live Kru. Bobby Roode and Eric Young represented Team Canada. BG James uses his usual antics to get the crowd behind him. Killings hits an outstanding top rope Axe Kick. The return of Johnny Devine at the end is a real surprise as well.
RATING- 7/10
Kid Kash/Kazarian/Matt Bently VS Hector Garza/Sonjay Dutt/Sonny Siaki
On paper, this looks like it would be a decent match with some good X-Division action. Unfortunately, it's not what you would hope for. Sonjay Dutt is kept in the ring for almost the entire match and hardly ever gets any offence. Usually this would just be called Tag Team Wrestling, but it goes on for so long it just gets boring.
RATING- 4/10
Serengeti Survival Match
Monty Brown VS Abyss
Abyss costs Monty Brown his NWA World Title match on a recent addition of iMPACT! In this match you could win by pin fall or submission, or you could slam your opponent through thumbtacks. Abyss is well known for thumbtacks, so this makes this interesting. Most of the match, Abyss is working over Brown's injured ribs. Brown hits some good spots like powerslamming Abyss. The thumbtack spot is just brutal as Abyss lands on the back on his head on the thumbtacks.
RATING- 7.5/10
Special Referee- Jaqueline
The New York Connection VS Pat Kenney & Johnny B. Badd
For those who don't know, The NYC is created of Johnny Swinger and Glen Gilberti. Glen Gilberti is better known as the Disco Inferno. The match is you basic tag match until the end when Gilberti gets a little too pushy with Jaqueline and costs himself the match.
RATING- 5/10
Diamond Dallas Page VS Raven
One of the favorite wrestlers of all-time, DDP, wrestles again and this time it's for TNA. The match started out as a great brawl through the crowd. DDP hit 3 Russian Leg Sweeps on Raven into the guardrail. Erik Watts is doing commentary on the match. He talks about how he has nothing to do with Raven and DDP, despite what they say. Erik makes his presence know later in the match.
RATING- 8/10
TNA X Division Championship
Petey Williams(c) w/Scott D'Amore VS Chris Sabin
There is plenty of action in this X Division title match. D'Amore doesn't interfere too much throughout the match. In the middle of the match though, they seem to slow down the match considerably. The ending consists of Petey cheating to get the win.
RATING- 8/10
-Disc 2-
Jeff Jarrett/Scott Hall/Kevin Nash VS Macho Man/AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy
Macho Man was abducted earlier in the night; that just leaves Styles and Hardy to fend for themselves. This is a decent tag team match that shows Styles pulling a lot of his moves out on the opposition. Jeff Hardy does okay as well. Macho makes an appearance near the end and ends the match horribly.
RATING- 7.5/10
Six Sides of Steel- Loser Disbands (Match of the DVD)
Triple X VS America's Most Wanted
This is one of the most emotional matches I've ever seen. Both teams are battling it out and holding nothing back. Elix Skipper hits the over replayed walk the cage hurricanrunna. Daniels hits an awesome elbow drop from the top of the steel cage. There is an amazing tower of doom spot. Both teams work their heart out to put on one of the greatest matches of all time. Every single part of it was perfect.
RATING- 10/10
Extras Include-
Backstage Footage

5 comments about WWE - Three Faces of Foley.
- The three faces of foley is a great insight into the life of Mick Foley (aka cactus jack, dude love and Mankind). i gave this video 5 stars for one reason - IT ROCKED. i love Foley and the video was brilliant . iy you haven't already got it run out and buy it . NOW.
- GREAT VIDEO I MUST SEE IT HANE U SEEN WHAT IS IT lIKE
I LIKE EGGS EGGS I LIKE
- this is a very nicely done video of Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and Mankind. the interview with JR is funny too when Mankind gives him the Mandible Claw and pretends it wasnt him. if youre bored and feeling pity of you unmeaningly exicstence then take a small bit of humpferd of believing that somewhere out there in this crazy mixed-up universe of ours there's still a little but cool video called Three Faces of Foley
- Mick Foley's first home video, The three faces of Foley finally comes to DVD. The main program the three faces of Foley is awesome. The extras are, well the extras are non existant. There aren't even chapter stops. Clocking in at only sixty minutes, I wish the full three week interview segments with Jim Ross that got Foley so popular with WWF fans had been included. The other new WWF low price series DVD's have three hour PPV's included, so they could've easilly added a little to this. That said, The Three Faces of Foley is fantastic. If you are even a bit of a Foley fan, for the price it's a great deal.
- moastly cactus, there is little mankind.it starts with an old rare interview w/ mankind, then things on dude love, terry funck, cactus jack, and ends with hell in a cell 1998.It is worth the money.

- I wasn't sure what I'd get when I ordered this DVD - I was pretty much attracted to the shapely babes on the cover. But I wasn't disappointed with what I got!
If the kind of action you're looking for is two models doing the slap & tickle fake wrestling, or overly dramatic GLOW-style action, this probably isn't for you. These ladies are definitely attractive and in great shape, and the action is 100% real. There are two matches on this video, both of them topless. The matches take place in a wrestling ring, and are pretty much solid, amateur-style contests. You won't find any hair-pulling or breast-grabbing (darn!), just some hard, competitive action between young women who know what they're doing. If you can appreciate that kind of action, then this video and it's sister (Competitive Women) are well worth your time and $$.
