1. This is obviously a transfer from VHS. There are no menu's or chapters to get directly to the area you are interested in. The instruction they do have on there is good. They explain some of the basics well, and the 2 instructors are obviously very good at them. The only problem is that there just isn't much on there. I read the product info over on another website, and it mentions that they include Bunkai (applications) for the movements in the Kata's...They do not. They also teach a couple of odd "pre" Kata's that I have not seen in any other Wado-Ryu school or DVD. They look more like the beginning short forms from American Kenpo. I think they copied them. Anyway, this DVD is just ok.

1. Judo & Karate came out of Jiu-Jitsu, This dvd by Sensei Vince Morris is very good & his teachings are simple, clear & practial. Being a student of Judo Gene Le Bell (myself) I found this dvd well worth the price & the people who put out this product most sincere. Buy this dvd.

1. This dvd was awful and I don't advise buying it. The video quality was poor and in the last part when master otsuka was runnin kata it was so dark you couldn't see.If Master Otsuka was alive he would flip.



2. The video footage is never amazing on this dvd, but the partnerworks at the beginning is of good enough quality to see what Ohtsuka is doing and is very nice to see. It shows the advanced footworks and kumite tactics of Wado ryu well. This video is let down by the poor quality of the final section of the video where sections of a number of kata are shown ,but none in very good quality. i would recommend this video for any experienced practictioners of Wado ryu, its lack of basics, good kata sections or explainataions means it is not particlarly suitable for anyone who does not already have a good knowledge of Wado ryu basics and kata



3. Another piece of unadulterated garbage from Masterline Productions, poorly produced from multi-generational copies of sub-standard 8mm film created by hand-held cameras. The fact that it is even advertised for sale confirms the saying, wrongly attributed to P. T. Barnum as it happens that, "There's a Sucker Born Every Minute"

4. The introduction is terrible. The content that you can actually see is mediocre at best and the end is so poor you can barley see anything. You can see well enough to tell that the Kata are not complete. Probable due to the fact that the cut out portions were even worse...
   
   Do not buy this product! Based on this video alone I would never purchase anything from masterline video or risingsunproductions again! Otsuka would not approve!

1. Unfortunately this DVD is just a rip off.
   The video was recorded from VHS tape & poorly formatted.
   There are no chapters or any other features that you would expect from a DVD.
   I was hoping to supplement my Wado Ryu training with the aid of the examples on this DVD, but there is absolutely nothing to gain from this piece of junk!
   For a great series on Wado Ryu that shows the katas in detail, I highly recommend David Deaton's "Wado Ryu Karate" series produced by Panther Productions.



2. Just watched it for the first time and WOW! What can I say, except, I really
   learned a lot from this DVD. It showed me how to perform every kata exactly
   how it should be done.



3. I don't know where these people found this footage but it was awesome! To see the master at work was a real treat. And the information was beyond belief. Excellent!



4. If you want to see really high quality footage of the Founder of Wado Ryu Karate performins kata that was filmed by Berkley University (California) in 1965 see Wado Ryu The Way of Peace and Harmony Volumes 1 & 2. Unlike the above, they are professionally produced films from a Southern Californian studio, that you will be proud to own.



5. You can really learn alot from this great video!! I highly recommend this dvd!!!
