5 comments about Bloodsport.
- Frank Dux (Van Damme), a Karate student of a Japanese master, decides to compete in a no holds barred sparring tournament in Hong Kong referred to as Kumite. He strives to win this bloody tournament in order to keep the legacy of his Karate master.
Before we judge this film, we need to keep in mind that it is an 80s film, meaning that the action delivered should not be compared to the action we get in 2009 movies. However, I still wasn't very pleased with the action since the movie was obviously a low budget one and could have been made much better. Take for example "Best of the Best" and "No Retreat No Surrender" movies, which were made in the same period however delivered better action scenes. However lets also remember that this was one of Van Damme's first movies where he is the main star and perhaps not many wanted to bet on it being a success, this is why not much was spent on producing it.
There was no real story to tell. There was no main plot. The whole movie was packed with punching and kicking scenes that got quite repetitive after a while. I think the best part of the movie is the final fight between Van Damme and Bolo, which was full of amazing fighting techniques.
However, one of the reasons why this movie is so popular is that Van Damme made some great shows with his amazing techniques. Take for example his flying kicks. This is also one of the first movies to illustrate no holds barred mixed martial arts competitions where you get fighters from different arts in competition. Perhaps this movie and others like it inspired the people who introduced to us the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the early 90s.
Based on the success of this movie, Van Damme starred in other great movies afterwards such as Kick Boxer and Double Impact. It was surely a great start for him.
Van Damme is currently starring in a new film called "Karate", which is somehow similar to the idea of bloodsport. He will be playing the role of a Karateka who is fighting in a tournament against Mixed Martials Artists and will surely give them a lot of beatings. He will be somehow like UFC's light heavy weight champion, Lyoto Machida. This should be an amazing film.
- Jean claude van damme puts on one of his best per formances in this classic 80's hit. If your even a mild action fan you should at least see it once and at it's price you might as well buy it.
- With today's Hollywood seemingly running out of original ideas and the spew of so-called Old School Action movies this year: The Losers, The A-Team (which isn't really old school as they've used CGI in places) and The Expendables (message to Stallone and his representatives: Please don't ruin my adolescent years by making this a girly PG-13!)- it's a pleasure to revisit The Muscles from Brussels, Jean-Claude Van Damme or JVCD, in what is arguably a movie that is 70% action and 30% story. The premise is that Jean's Frank Dux (Dukes on whose story this is based on...even I had forgotten that fact) wants to take part in Kumite (the Bloodsport of the title), to honour his not-so-well master, Tanaka (Roy Chiao). Frank's an army man and against the wishes of his superiors, flies out to Hong Kong (hotly pursued by Forest Whitaker & his faithful sidekick, Kato - just kidding!) Well, you know the rest from there, as I'm sure other Amazon folk have synopsosised this to death!
Admittedly, the movie has moments of bad acting, BUT that adds gravitas and lends a certain charm to the whole proceedings. This is after all, the glorious 1980s, where money was more readily available and even the so-called low budget fare like this (made and distributed by Cannon...I miss those guys! Did they later become Golan Globus?) - looked expensive and colourful, too. Even more impressive is the fact there are no wire-work sequences at all (compare it to the fact that in a gym, old school free weights are better than using crappy machines which can damage you some more!) and none of the choppy, quick editing that's so prevalent in today's actioners (Paul Greengrass, are you reading this, Sir?). In fact, I would say the last decent martial arts I've seen in the last 20 years are "Perfect Weapon" with Jeff Speakman (why hasn't that seen the light-of-day on DVD?) and 1997's Drive with Mark Dacascos.
All too often, you hear the term "a man's film" bandied around, but this for me is up there with the Die Hards, Lethal Weapons and Commandos! I love the genuine onscreen chemistry between Van Damme & Donald Gibb's Ray Jackson - and even after they've declared their undying devotion to each other, with Ray declaring: "Anytime, any place, if you ever need me...I'll be there", that to me, is the non-gay, ultimate Man Love declaration, right there in your face, hahaha! Whatever you think of Tom Cruise, Top Gun definitely spawned the whole 1980s "You can be my Wingman" mentality (let me take a minute here to breathe, I'm just getting emotional again...) Which reminds me, I need to book my place for 80s throwback comedy Hot Tub Time Machine!
Another vital component of 80s film culture is the obligatory pretty blonde...here played with perfection by Leah Ayres. Yes, she's a tad ditzy and allows her character to become the center of attention for grown-up men to fight over her, but who cares? She's drop-dead gorgeous, her hair is gloriously permed and at least she has a natural body which makes her dresses look sooooo, mmmm! It was also a joy to know that Stan Bush lent his vocal talents to the Official Soundtrack, after doing the same thing for the Transformers animated movie. Man, just hearing his songs have got me pumped-up! Speaking of which, I thought Jean-Claude nailed his death stare right-on-cue, even if his opponents were a deadly pile of bricks! I reckon they should have given Bolo Yeung's man-breasts an extra screen credit, which at times, seemed to involuntarily do their own acting! But Bolo, what a legend and what a good sport for playing chilling bad guys.
Loud synthesizers, dazzling action sequences and a great location (Hong Kong under British rule), no wonder Bloodsport is considered an all-time classic. This Blu-ray release is stunning and didn't think they could make an 80s classic look so fresh again. Along with Willis, Stallone and Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme should definitely be ranked along those guys for epitomising the 80s (and 90s to a lesser degree). I need to devote a weekend to watching pure 80s gold, such as No Retreat, No Surrender; Weird Science, Rocky, Terminator, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Rambo, etc. That'll be one pizza, Dr. Pepper and all the Man-roars to go, please!! And if Al Leong wants to make another cameo, that's OK with me too!
- JEAN AT HIS BEST!!! PERIOD IF YOU DONT OWN THIS YOU NEED TO GET YOUR FACE KICKED,, IVE WATCHED BLOODSPORT AT LEAST 20 TIMES AND THE FIGHT SCENES ARE ALWAYS AWESOME!!!!!
- One of my favorite martial arts movies ever made. Van Damme's best, period. Kickboxer is similar and good as well but Bloodsport is Van Damme's main moneymaker. Bolo Yung, the "villain", also was on a movie called Enter the Dragon(look and you will find) with some guy called Bruce Lee. I don't know if you've heard of it or him. Just joking! Bolo WAS on that movie with Bruce f'n Lee and is too often overlooked for roles like this. OUTSTANDING martial arts movie. The negative reviewers know where they can go!

5 comments about Fat Burning Kickboxing Workout for Dummies.
- I'd say this was a fun workout. It's a good change if you want to mix up your workouts a bit, but I didn't find it as tiring as a typical workout for some reason, and I'm a kickboxing novice. I certainly don't think I burned 700 calories, as one of the reviewers suggested they were burning. As a beginner I found the rapid moves a little challenging and required concentration, but it's easy to catch on if you stick with it.
- Ok I am not an avid exerciser, but I am active. I saw this DVD as one of the best workout dvds, so I decided to purchase it. I receive and it is so hard to do. The tutorial even goes fast. I can say that this is not a dvd for beginners, dummies, or anyone that does have stamina for an extremely long, high endurance workout. It will take me months to get through one work out. The dvd is very fast paced and hard to keep up with...UGH wasted money!
- This is bar none the best workout DVD I've ever bought. Keli cues you really well and even if you do it daily (like I do!) she doesn't get boring. The workout is INTENSE but it works wonderfully. You really feel it in all your muscles. Plus, it's an awesome stress reliever. I do it every day JUST for that reason alone. It really helps break out all the accumulated tension throughout the day. It's so easy and really enjoyable and really gets your heart pumping! I HIGHLY recommend this DVD!
- I was looking for a workout DVD that would really get my heart pumping. I found this online as one of the top-rated DVD workouts for burning calories, so I decided to try it. I've never done kickboxing before, but I had no trouble learning the moves. Keli is great and definitely not annoying, like some other DVD fitness instructors. But after the first time I did it, I wasn't very tired at all. I didn't feel like I had gotten the great workout that the review I read had promised, and I was a bit disappointed. However, the more I did it, and the better I became at executing the moves, the more I started to sweat. Once you learn to do the moves correctly and really put your all into it, you'll feel the burn and get a great workout. But it's really up to you to keep practicing the moves and challenge yourself by punching and kicking harder, rather than just going throught the motions. And after doing this workout 4-5 times a week for the past month, my butt and thighs look great! :)I would definitely recommend it.
- I bought this because of FITNESS magazine's recommendation: The magazine claims that it would burn 700 calories for the workout. Not so. I probably burned 50. I was looking for a DVD that gave me a little more cardio, and thought this might do the trick. I didnt even break a sweat!
I am extremely dissapointed in how easy the DVD is. There is nothing exciting or challenging about it!
If you are a TRUE beginner, this may be for you, but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone with even a moderate amount of physical activity. How can FITNESS Magazine call this one of the Top 10 DVD's out there?

5 comments about The Biggest Winner - How to Win by Losing: The Complete Body Workout (5-Disc DVD Set: Shape Up - Front, Shape Up - Back, Cardio Kickbox, Maximize - Full Frontal, Maximize - Back in Action).
- The service was great.. wonderful low price, shipped quickly and in perfect condition. The video is wonderful for those who dont have much time to work out. at the end I was like.. "thats it?" yet the next two days i was sooo sore! Anyone has time for this!
- I'm sure this would have been a good work out DVD however it was defective (perhaps that is why it was only 8.97?) The strange thing was it was packaged as new. I ended up throwing it out, skipped all the way through, even though I cleaned the DVD thoroughly. When I looked at the DVD there was streak all the way through it. Looks like this seller received a bunch of defective DVD's and sold them as "new"
- The workout set is great! Consists of 5 different half hour workouts, one for each day of the work week! The workouts are challenging yet everyone is capable after a few practice runs through the set. There is a always one person on the tape doing the modified workout for beginners. I recommend it!
- if you can get past the giggling and horsing around, it is a good workout.
- I used to do the Buns of Steel Platinum Series. Obviously that was a while ago. I do not like the Jillian Michaels workouts as well as the ones with Tammy Lee Webb, but for a beginner to an intermediate, these workouts are not bad.

5 comments about 10 Minute Solution: Knockout Body Workout Kit w/Weighted Gloves.
- i have been looking for a kickboxing workout cause I loved a class I took but can't afford that gym price. This video filled that bill perfectly. I did it for the first time today and man I feel great! The biggest advantage of kickboxing besides the calorie burn is the energy it gives you. I feel amazing. And it is easy to follow without tricky moves that confuse you. If you want burn and energy get this video
- I started off with turbojam, but didn't like the fact that most of the workouts are almost an hour long, and I don't always have that much time (that and lets face it I got a little bored with the workouts). Bought this 10 minute solution workout set and I am really liking it. I usually will do 3 of the workouts in a row and you have the choice to mix and match them differently each time. I think this is what is keeping me interested, and the 10 minutes go by so fast you are ready to do another workout without thinking about it. At first I didn't feel the workouts were very difficult, but I soon learned differently the next day when my muscles were sore. The weighted gloves also add to the workout. If she puts out a second volume of these workouts I would probably buy them.
- I would not waste my money on this if I were you. It's not accurate when it comes to reading your movements especially on the ball return and dodge ball segments. Sometimes your WII person is swinging their arms and you haven't even moved. The graphics are terrible. The people look deformed. Once again it takes longer to get set up to do the exercise than it takes to actually exercise. Slow movements and way too much down time. It is not really a 10 minute work out since you can only do one five minute and then a break while it reloads the next five minute segment. I'm still waiting for a good exercise program that is fun to do, gives you a good consistent work out and doesn't have a bunch of extra stuff that slows it down.
- I really LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this workout!!! I had so much fun doing it!! I was looking for a routine to replace the kickboxing class at my gym [can no longer afford the fee]..and THIS IS IT!!! Jessica is upbeat, engaging, motivating but she is not annoying, snarling or overly cutsie. Her body is very motivating to me as it is athletic with curves. I feel like she is really speaking directly to me. For the record, I am trying to get back into shape after letting myself go for several years. I am formerly a high school and college cheerleader/dance team. I also played volleyball and soccer. I consider myself pretty coordinated and after watching the DVD through the first time and then doing it a couple of times I found it easy to catch on to the steps. But, I can totally see how it may be frustrating for others to learn the steps. KEEP TRYING! You will get it or just do your own modifications -- I think it will be worth it!! I can already tell that I am going to lean out with this routine. LOVE IT and IT IS FUN!!
- I like this dvd. I usually do 3-4 segments at a time to get a decent workout. The gloves can get a little sweaty but I still recommend this.

5 comments about Say Anything.
- One of the best teenage romance films of all time.
Like many teenagers and young adults, "Say Anything..." was the ultimate teen romance film when they first saw it back in 1989. And for some people, within the last 20-years, the movie still left an impression on those who watched it.
The film received rave reviews from critics, the publication Entertainment Weekly voted the film as the "Greatest Modern Movie Romance" in 2002 and #11 in their "Best High School Film" movie list.
The film marked the debut of Cameron Crowe ("Jerry Maguire", "Almost Famous", "Vanilla Sky") who wrote and directed the film. The film included cinematographer László Kovács ("Easy Rider", "Miss Congeniality", "My Best Friend's Wedding", "Two Weeks Notice") and music by composer Anne Dudley ("The Full Monty", "American History X", "The Crying Game") and Richard Gibbs ("Battlestar Galactica", "10 Things I Hate About You", "Singles").
"Say Anything..." is about Lloyd Dobler (played by John Cusack, "2012", "War, Inc.", "Runaway Jury", "Sixteen Candles", "Better Off Dead") who is a guy who wants to become a kickboxer. A normal guy who happens to have a big crush on the valedictorian Diane Court (played by Ione Skye, ""Fever Pitch", "Wayne's World", "The Rachel Papers"). Dianne is a very intelligent young woman but has not really experienced a boyfriend let alone any teenage social outings.
For Diane, she has a lot of things going for her. She won a fellowship to study in England and plans to go there at the end of the summer. But when Lloyd builds the confidence to ask here for a date, she is surprised by it and intrigued by him, she agrees to it.
So, Lloyd who never had a serious relationship is ready to go out on his first date and he gets advice from his sister Constance (played by Joan Cusack, "War, Inc.", "Ice Princess", "Raising Helen", "The School of Rock") and even his friend/musician (played by Lili Taylor, "Public Enemies", "Six Feet Under", "State of Mind") who is depressed and constantly sings about her on and off again boyfriend and also getting advice from his other female friends and his male friends which include Mark (played by Jeremy Piven, "Entourage", "Smokin' Aces", "The Kingdom").
Needless to say, both Lloyd and Diane fall in love. But Diane's father Jim (played by John Mahoney, "Frasier", "Dan in Real Life", "Primal Fear") is very strict and wants her to go to college, no distractions and to succeed. He sees Lloyd as an underachiever and doesn't want him around his daughter.
Unknown to Diane, her father is doing shady things at the nursing home that he is in charge of and is under investigation by the IRS for tax evasion.
With her father in trouble, Diane feels that she should put her father first and thus the two breakup. "Say Anything..." deals with two people who are in love but have their first major breakup and what one would do for the sake of love.
VIDEO & AUDIO:
"Say Anything... - 20th Anniversary Edition" makes it debut in High Definition with a 1080p transfer that looks absolutely fantastic for a film that is 20-years-old. I have complained in the past of how 80's and early 90's film tend to get the DNR (digital noise reduction) treatment and sometimes the picture quality appears to be waxy and unnatural but in this case, there is a good amount of detail in the film. Compared to its DVD counterpart, you can see the clarity, the colors and also the nice deep blacks. Grain is definitely present which is great and I didn't notice any major compression or edge enhancement. This is the best I have seen of the film thus far. So overall, picture quality is pretty solid.
As for the audio, the film receives a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (as well as English Dolby Surround Sound, Spanish and French mono). The film is pretty much front and channel-driven. There is no major sound effects as dialogue and music are what drives "Say Anything...". In fact, when I first watched this film, what made the biggest impression on me was hearing the musical soundtrack as we hear the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Taste the Pain", Fishbone or even the popular Peter Gabriel song "In Your Eyes" with such clarity. There could have been more surround usage but I didn't really notice anything via surround channels. But for the most part, this is the best that the film has ever sounded up to now and dialogue and music can be heard clearly.
As for subtitles, the film is presented in English, Spanish, French, Cantonese and Mandarin.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
"Say Anything - 20th Anniversary Edition" comes with the following special features:
* To Know Say Anything...is to Love It! Trivia Track (over 200 questions) - A Blu-ray exclusive, during the film, one can watch "Say Anything" with a trivia track playing throughout the film.
* An Iconic Film Revisited: Say Anything...20 Years Later featurette - (21:57) A Blu-ray exclusive featurette. An awesome featurette as Cameron Crowe, John Cusack, Ione Skye, John Mahoney, Nancy Wilson discuss the making of the film 20-years-later and why the film has been so popular even today. Some interesting tidbits of the film, the boombox scene that may have never happened and the Peter Gabriel song that may have never happened and more.
* A Conversation with Cameron Crowe featurette - (9:31) Cameron Crowe talks about the film and the characters and how Cameron Crowe became the director and learning from making his first film and challenges with the studio on the script and more.
* I Love Say Anything...! - (7:31) Comedians and talent discuss what they love about "Say Anything" and their favorite scenes in the film.
* Intro and Commentary by Cameron Crowe, John Cusack and Ione Skye - Featuring a 20-minute intro with director Cameron Crow, actor John Cusack and actress Ione Skye. The first 20 minutes features the three talking about reuniting for the first time since the early 90's and how big the film was for them and for the audience and how Cameron Crowe got the idea to write the film and then how he became the director. For the most part, the audio commentary is quite solid as we hear from the three about what went on behind-the-making of the film but for the most part, how real the chemistry was between John and Ione. In fact, the two admit that while shooting the film, they had a spark but the fact is they had their own relationships with other people and Ione Skye is the first to say that if they weren't dating other people, the two probably would be dating each other. Suffice to say, a pretty solid commentary.
* Alternate Scenes - The following alternate scenes are featured: Scene 106 - Lloyd at the Phonebooth, Scene 128x: Lloyd & Diane outside karate studio, Scene 108 - Diane in Bedroom (with commentary by Cameron Crowe), Scene 109: Lloyd with boom box (with commentary by Cameron Crowe), Scene 109R: Lloyd with boom box (with commentary by Cameron Crowe).

* Extended Scenes - Featuring a total of 13 extended scenes.
* Vintage featurette - (6:58) The original "Say Anything..." featurette. Featuring interviews from 1989 with John Cusack, Ione Skye, John Mahoney and director Cameron Crowe.
* Theatrical Trailers - Featuring two theatrical trailers.
* TV Spots - Featuring eight TV spots: I Love You, Phone Call, Boom Box, Scam Review, Pretty Great Review, Coffee Shop, Chilli Peppers, Fish Bone,
* Photo Gallery - A "Say Anything..." photo gallery montage.
JUDGMENT CALL:
1989. I can easily remember when "Say Anything..." was released in theaters. The whole concept of a guy going for the girl that he falls for and just the lasting memories from the film. From the party, teaching his girlfriend to drive, the mixtape, the boombox... it was one of those film that just captivated me and as a teenager, I don't even know how many times I watched the film or listened to the movie soundtrack.
Having graduated from high school in 1989, for me at the time, the film was almost inspirational in some ways. If you want to ask a girl that you really like for a date, just do it. And sure enough I did and in the end, many years later... I married her. So, "Say Anything..." was definitely a film that was inspirational for me and I'm sure it was inspirational for others.
I loved the film mainly for how natural the characters were. I always felt that John Cusack and Ione Skye had tremendous chemistry and that they were phenomenal in the film. Of course, it was revealed in original DVD commentary that the two were actually pretty close with each other during the making of this film and even brought up by Cameron Crowe during his Blu-ray special feature and we learn that from the commentary.
Cameron Crowe was able to create a film that captures the natural emotion of finding that first love. John Cusack and Ione Skye did a fantastic job bringing that to the big screen. For example, after the two make out in the car and to see the character Lloyd sweating and shivering and of course, the chemistry between both characters as the kiss doesn't look like some sort of Hollywood acting style of kiss, these two were literally making out on screen. Those small details are emotions that are just well captured on film. Love, happiness, pain, sadness, anger. You name it...it's in this film.
The music was also fantastic. I literally played out the cassette to the point where you can't really hear the music all that well. From Living Colour's "Cult of Personality", Cheap Trick's "You Want It", Red Hot Chili Peppers "Taste the Pain", Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes", Depeche Mode's "Stripped", Fishbone's "Skankin' to the Beat". So, it was cool to hear the audio for this film in the lossless audio soundtrack and of course the picture quality is absolutely beautiful.
Overall, "Say Anything..." is a film that I probably am quite biased towards but the fact that many print and online publications regard it as a classic film in such a highest regard, that tells you how special this film is. And now the 20th Anniversary Edition is available on Blu-ray. Highly recommended!
- this movie was a gift to a dear family member. She loves it and watches it over and over.
- This is one of my families favorite movies from the 80's, simply because it doesn't TRY so hard, it just IS.
What it is is wonderful and caring and funny and surprising, but not in a super cute way, not at all, it's effortless. The writing and the acting are all wonderful, especially John Cusack and Ione Skye as the two young people falling in love. There are lots of funny cameos from Jeremy Piven to John Mahoney to Eric Stoltz and so on. As far as I'm concerned this is the best Cameron Crowe movie out there. Yes, Jerry Maguire was very good, but Say Anything has a heart and is quite touching in ways that movie strains for.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
- I am astonished that this monumentally witless and unaffecting film wormed its way onto the AFI Top 500 List, or into the hearts of so many customers here at Amazon.
Really, the only charm and intelligence on display here appear in the eyes of John Cusack, who is nevertheless undone by the dopey script and bovine leading lady.
The chemistry between the leads is almost nonexistent, and their romance is paper-thin, even in this age of epic narcissism.
I would feel sorry that the worthy John Mahoney lowers himself to earn a paycheck here as the girl's father, but he went onto redeem himself for the ages as Frazier's dad.
I can only assume that the positive reviews here emanate from young viewers who have never seen a classic romantic comedy like "Bringing Up Baby" or "It Happened One Night".
NOT recommended.
- What makes this movie work is the strong sexual chemistry between John Cusack and Ione Skye. I can tell these two are attracted to each other in real life by the way they look at each other and act towards each other in this movie.
Watch the scene where Diane Court (Ione Skye) is asking Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack) which dress she should wear (just before the dinner scene). Cusack looks highly aroused in this scene, evident by the sparkle in his eyes and how he seems to be trying to control his breathing. Skye, too, looks like she's trying to control her breathing and she also can't stop smiling when she makes eye contact with him. Throughout this movie, she beams at him, but shyly tries to hide it. A very natural sexual response that's hard to fake.
This is a romantic comedy and the romance part definitely works and so, too, does the comedy. There are many funny scenes in this movie, most notably the ones with Lloyd's best friend (Lili Taylor) who's obsessed with her loser ex-boyfriend Joe. Her songs to Joe are especially funny. She starts out singly softly, "Joe lies...when he cries...when he cries..." and then forcefully starts singing, "That'll never be me! That'll never be me! That'll never, ever, be me, NO". It cracks me up every time.
Other funny scenes include Lloyd asking some random guys at a gas 'n sip for relationship advice and also the scene where Lloyd answers Diane's dad's question about what he wants to do for a living. I also especially liked the scene where Lloyd is driving and talking into his tape recorder. He's acting all macho, saying he's totally over Diane and yet still mentions, with anger in his voice, the place where she dumped him. That's so typical denial behavior of people who pretend like they're over someone when they're clearly not.
The soundtrack for this movie works, too. From the very first song that Lloyd is listening to in his car, to the upbeat music that's appropriate for the ending, to the "In Your Eyes" song by Peter Gabriel that's played twice in this movie...once after making love and the other infamous scene where Lloyd is holding up a boom box (the image you see on the cover).
Other supporting actors include Joan Cusack who plays Lloyd's grumpy sister and John Mahoney as Diane's dad. Mahoney does a great job playing a judgmental, yet hypocritical dad...although I did think the dad scenes were a little boring.
This is a great romantic film, but realistically, it wouldn't last. Lloyd and Diane attract because they're opposites and while opposites do attract, they also repel each other eventually. And because Lloyd and Diane are drastically different in life goals and upbringing, I think they'd eventually repel each other.
Nonetheless, this is a fun romance to watch while it lasts. I've lost count how many times I've seen this movie. I enjoy it that much.

5 comments about 10 Minute Solution - Kickbox Bootcamp.
- I have been doing kickboxing for 4 years now and I found this video has improved my form. There's one section where she has you throw punches with weights that has gotten negative feedback from other reviewers. You don't have anything to worry about if you know how to properly throw a punch. In fact, your form will improve if you give it a try.
I wouldn't recommend this video for beginners but if you are like me, then you'll have a blast with this one! There are roundhouse kicks with a hop, some innovative ab work that feels incredible, and birthies. No that's not a typo. Kelli is English and you know how they have cute words for everything (apartment=flat, cigarette=fag) in America we refer to them as squat thrusts. She does variations of them incorporating knee push ups (I just went ahead and did them on my toes) leg lifts and football runs. There's a lot of variety in this workout, and if you do the whole 50 minutes it will definitely be worth your time, but even one or two 10 minute segments would be a boon as well.
- I absolutely love kickboxing and was hooked on Tae Bo, but cannot find it on DVD. With the new age of DVD players and VHS players outdated an no longer working, I had to find something else. I tried this and absolutely loved it. I worked up a sweat in the first 10 minutes and kept going from there. It is fast paced and easy to follow.
- This was a good buy and I'd recommend it to people who are looking to add another quick 10min workout to their normal routine. It's definitely something that I pop in after my normal workout dvds when I feel like I have the energy (or that I've eaten too much lately!). It is just the perfect amount of time too, the 10 min, because it is a hard workout and really gets my heart pumping. My only word of caution is that I feel like about half of these workouts are for people with a pretty high fitness level so I feel relegated to using about 3 of the 5 workouts, but for the price it was still worth it.
- I had a couple of kickboxing segments in some other 10 min solutions DVDs, but they just threw you into it and didn't explain how to do the exercises properly. Kelli did a great job of pointing out how to get the maximum results from the exercises without losing pace. She's easy to follow and this workout had me panting and sweating like crazy. I did this workout 4-5 times a week for three weeks before starting P90X. When I'm done with my 90 days of X I'm definitely going to use this DVD in my long term exerise program.
- I am enjoying using the video. It's fun to work out to and quite effective!

- Bought this for my Daughter for Christmas. She loves it. Arrived in a timely manner also.
- I have been working out with Tae Bo for years--it's a great workout, and it has helped get me back into great shape after having my 4 kids. I was looking for a new DVD to add to my collection, and came across this one---OH WOW!!! Fat Blasting Cardio is an AWESOME workout! It takes you to your next level the first time that you do the workout! This workout will get you out of a plateau; it's fast paced, and your heart rate will stay elevated through the workout! AND, you get body results after the first time doing this workout. I highly, highly recommend it. The Total Body Fat Blaster is great too--It's not as fast paced, but still a great workout, and really focuses on some "problem areas".
All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this product from Billy Blanks.
- I read many reviews as I always do before I purchase. This is my fourth taebo video I've ordered in 2 weeks. This is by far the best. Even though I was not able to purchase the taebo bands, I was sweating like no other and I play on four soccer teams and these two videos still kicked my butt. All I have to say is try for yourself. :)
- I have always like tae bo workouts from Billy Blanks, because they for sure kick your butt! I just did my first workout from this set, and I am not disappointed at all, it is more than what I expected I am happy with my purchase! I could say I already loose a pound...
- I wouldn't recommend this video to beginners or people who don't use Tae Bo on a regular basis. I think these two videos are definitely for experienced regulars. Also, I believe these videos use equipment like weights and resistance bands. Of course you can do the same moves without the equipment, but I purchased resistance bands and definitely got a tougher workout.

- This is by far my favorite 10 Minute Solutions DVD. Suzanne Bowen is a great instructor and there is a variety of exercises. I do it just about everyday! Easy to follow and fun!
- i first bought this dvd 2 years ago and use it sporadically since i can never get into a work out routine! i'm 21 so luckily i don't really need to work out.. but anyways when i do use this dvd, my abs are always sore the next day! and my lower abs are sore, i've never had any other DVD, work out machine, gym class, etc do that for me before. i LOVE it, would recommend it to anyone.. beginner or not, any of the 5 10-minute workouts will make you feel the burn :)
- I think Suzanne Bowen is a fantastic instructor. She explains what she is doing very well but doesn't add a bunch of fluff that you wish you could skip once you've got the hang of it. This has a great variety of workouts - some easier and lighter than others. I found myself struggling to keep up the first couple of times I watched it but caught on very quickly. I can feel my core getting stronger and I really don't watch it all that often, and I don't think I've ever done all 5 in one day. It's quick and effective, and while it's not what I would consider easy, it does get easier as you go.
- I love this video. I am a huge fan of the 10 Minute Solution series. The workouts are great, and it's easy to talk yourself into working out for 10 minutes. After doing one segment you're pumped up and ready to try another. It's also great to mix and match segments from other 10 Minute Solution DVDs.
- These are awesome if you only have a few minutes a day to workout. For the most part you can just do these workouts in your living room even if its kind of small. Some things could use a little more room, though, and its nice that you don't have to have a whole bunch of props.

5 comments about The Biggest Loser Workout: Cardio Max.
- I'm still on level one at this point but am loving the workout. Love how you can customize it with or without instructions and levels.
- This really is a hardcore workout!! I was sweaty after the warmup so if your into that heart pumping workout this is for you,
On the other hand if your just starting out it is something that you really have to work yourself into so don't be discouraged if you can't do every move, there's alot of jumping and squatting so if you have knee or joint problems I would not recommend this
- So disappointed. This is a poorly organized dvd. And by no means is it for beginners. If you don't already understand proper form or are completely out of shape, DO NOT DO THIS DVD! I am a personal trainer that, for many reasons, has been out of commission for over a year and was looking for a beginner dvd to help motivate back to shape. I already know proper form and most importantly how to modify so I could do the moves and not re-injure myself so I was able to get a decent workout out of it without hurting myself. A true beginner will at the least be set up for failure as most of the moves are too difficult or at the worst actually attempt this and hurt themselves.
- This is a great post baby workout to work the core muscles. I like how it gradually eases you in and it's easy to follow the instructions. I have done a few dvd workouts and so far, this is the only one that works for me and I feel my heart pumping when I do this workout.
- WOW!!! I finally ordered this DVD and am so glad I did. I've been exercising regularly for a year and a half starting out with Tony Horton 10 min trainer and then adding to my collection of DVD's as I found ones that interested me. I recently got "hooked" on watching Biggest Loser on TV thus purchasing my first Biggest Loser DVDs, Yoga Meltdown & Power Sculpt. I like to keep things interesting so I change up the workouts often so that I don't get bored and in a rut/plateau if you know what I mean. So needless to say, I thought I was in pretty good cardio/strength health until this morning when I pressed play on Cardio Max Level 1 with Bob.
He kicked me right to the ground. It was great! Now I wonder if I was really getting the cardio workout that I needed in the 50 minute workouts I've been playing. It's been just 6 short hours since I finished his level 1 and I'm really starting to feel it in every part of my body. I already want to go home and try level 2 & 3 just to see if I can do it to my body again today. As with the power sculpt dvd with bob, he's very motivating. He really makes me feel like I can do this! I'm strong, think positive and just do it!
Again, I just have to say, "WOW!" If you don't have this DVD already, you should. Even if it's the DVD you put in only once in a while it's worth it. I can't wait for Levels 2 & 3. Yeah!! to the Biggest Loser DVD's I love them.

- I tried this dvd after trying a few others and feeling dissatisfied. I was a little hesitant at first because I haven't worked out in quite a few months and wasn't sure what to expect. Boy was I surprised. This is the best home workout that I have ever experienced. The moves were easy to follow as Jillian give you beginner and intermediate options. I opted for the intermediate options for as many reps as I could do in hopes of building up my stamina. I liked that there are no hand weights involved just the weight of your body for resistance. Towards the middle of this dvd I was sweating but feeling very much like I was getting a workout that would result in weight loss. I am looking forward to my next workout with Jillian already! Run out and buy a copy of this dvd I don't think you will regret it.
- This is THE BEST work out video I think I've ever done. I am very inshape. I did this video to tone up before my wedding. This video kicks my butt. I am so out of breath by the end. But, my jeans are looser, my tummy is alot more toned and my legs are getting more thin. This video is absolutly for someone who is more advanced. But it is a GREAT work out.
- I purchased this three weeks ago, and it is a great workout. I'm already seeing results and I'm losing inches and toning up. It's pretty intense and will make you sweat. I started with the 30 Day Shred which I really liked, but BFBM works even better, especially since it's 50 minutes long. I find the longer workout is more effective. I also like that she uses your body weight instead of hand weights. My arms are more toned than when I did the Shred, even though I'm not using any hand weights. I like how the circuits are spaced out, with easier ones alternating with harder ones. I also like how the moves are easy to do. I'm pretty klutzy and could never manage the dance moves. It is high impact, so you have to able to do jogging in place, jumping jacks, etc. All in all, I highly recommend it!
- Fastest transaction I've had on Amazon and products were in excellent condition at a good price
- This DVD was really fun, it was definitely a cardio blast & really helped me burn calories. Along with her No More Trouble Zones DVD, it's a great mix. Weights 1 day, cardio the next. I hope she comes out with more similar to this one... I like it so much I've been doing it everyday & after 2 months I'm a little bored... I would definitely recommend this to a beginner or intermediate beginner. You'll really feel good when it's over!
