1. its heavy andvery strong i spent a few minutes sharpening it with a accu-sharp and it cut a 2x4 like warm butter same with a3 inch bamboo pole i tried the same thing with my so called functional 300 sword and all i have left of that is the handle the war blade tip will go thru 1/4 inch plywood to i am getting another one and use them like wing chun butterfly swords and you can't beat the price but it needs a better sheath after abusing the sword the blade looked great no nicks or anything

1. this item is just great for any sword/katana collection out there! the sword has no dings or bumps and is in great condision when it arrives.
   
   only reason its 4 star is it sticks in the scabbard a little, and the satin ribbon came wrinkled (can be fixed quickly with iron) and is a slightly difernt shade of color. otherwise its great! came way before expected date!

1. I bought this sword as my first. I was acually planning to buy a viking sword in honor of my heritage. this is not a bad sword. I checked it over before buying it and all the parts are tight and nothing is loose except for one of the sides on the hand guard. they are designed to fold up or out. its heavy like a fully functional sword and its fun to swing around. unfortunatly I paid about $160 for it. not sharp but can be if you have the patiance. the tip is sharp though (poked a hole in cieling, wall, and myself) :-D all in all a pretty good sword if your into fantasy styled swords.



2. I have been after this sword for awhile but could never put the cash away. Finally I managed to get it! The only thing wrong is that the blade is not full tang and seems like it might break if I ever do swing it at something.

1. This sword is very cheap(cheaper than a good chef's knife!), but it is superbly balanced with a nice solid steel blade and a heavy pommel. All "metal-looking" details and decorations actually ARE metal. The "wooden" parts are made of plastic, but at this price it isn't any wonder that some things are less than perfect. What struck me about this gladius was that it's got the right feeling through and through. My one and only question-mark is the connection between the blade and the handle. It seemed allright but I didn't take the time to examine it more closely before I giftwrapped it, never seen my friend so happy before...

1. Positives: Sword Is High Quality, High Carbon Steel, Hand Forged, Hand Folded And Durable, And Looks Cool, Good Price For The Quality. It also comes with an extra hand guard(tsuba) in the box.
   
   Negatives: The sword DOES NOT have a real Clay Temper Line (Hamon). It is brushed on. It is a little top heavy and NOT perfectly balanced. Because it has a plastic pommel(the bottom part of the sword) instead of a heavier brass one. The cord wrapping is NOT wrapped in the traditional method but only looks like it. It also slips gradually down as you swing the sword alot which is annoying, and the plastic pommel slips loose also.
   The steel is very hard and sharp, but may not be as shock absorbent as differentially clay tempered swords. The "MARU" technique means that the whole blade is hard steel instead of soft core steel with a hard edge.
   
   It is a GOOD deal for your money, but you could get a BETTER deal online, just look around, and read everything before you purchase!
