1. i was looking for combat blades well i found them you can use these for combat right out of the box they are good weapons but if your looking for showoffy junk then go for another set of swords these were made for practical fighting good to suit up men cheaply if ever that situation did arise good for self defence i have a cz-82 hand gun and these by my bedside at all times i also use these for training a weapon is only as good as its handler i would sudjest these for begginers and experts alike if you want a weapon that is a one cut-one kill this is it it does need to be shapend if you want that razor sharp sword but otherwise this set is perfect for any one willing to use them. p.s. i have had people tell me that swords are useless in todays modern warfare and defence these people are utter morons they do not think about if theyre country is ever invaded they also rely on theyre military forces and are so sure of themselfs if your cocky like this then your an idiot every country has its weak points even my own country America i am a firm patriot and love my country but i do think logically

It's a good buy and an even better price the strap isn't to great as soon as I got it, it took an entire 15 min for it to fall off but I went to walmart and remade the thing to how I would use it because when u try and remove the longer one it get caught a lil and for it to come out smoothly the smaller one has to be out but this is an easy fix with the right tools I ut a second strap on it so it is close to the body and so it's not loose and I removed the button and put a magnetic strap it's faster to get to this way but overall it's great hope this helps thanx

   for the price this set includes the longer sword which is REALLY great. I needed something for some trail clearing behind my new house, and this served the purpose really well. After sharpening the blade I had a great time cutting down vines and thorny plants. The smaller blade is perfect for display/decor, and the scabbard is nice for the price. After spending some time sharpening them properly, these blades performed well for me.
   
   
   CONS
   This metal, particularly the very tip of the blade, WILL BREAK, like how an exacto knife always loses their tip, so don't try to bend it or force it on things. Also, it isn't very sharp in particular right around the curve of the blade it isn't sharp at all- almost dull! The handle grips will slide around and bunch together, and one day I'm sure they will become loose and break off; I just leave them alone even if they bunch up during use.
   The Metal may rust- I don't think it's stainless steel. The scabbard bends and is prone to hiccups as you slide the sword in. You have to be careful- you can't just force your swords to sheath- you have to guide them in.
   
   BOTTOM LINE
   I got this set for 23USD - Definitely worth it. Despite some of the cons I've listed, I think this set is above expectations for the price. They have an authentic appearance and upon closer observation they appear to be of good construction, and have this basic awesome feel to them. I didn't experience slipping or sliding with the handle grips, despite the fact that the grips slide down the handle and bunch together. You might be looking for a sword like the longer one, but don't really feel like the smaller one is worth your purchase. I'd pay 23$ just for the longer one, and really that's just what I did. I'm happy with my purchase and the shipping was 3 days early.



4. I have owned these swords for a few years. These guys are excellent for practicing technique. Yes, they could be sharpened and turned into a weapons but, these are not true combat swords. If you are into practicing martial skills and performing your techniques with a blade that has a danger factor and not risking cutting off a limb, then this is a great buy.
   
   If you are a professional and are going into combat, goto cold steel or traditional Filipino blades.



5. I bought this product for a good price and it was delivered fast. The blades look pretty cool but the longer one came with a bent tip. It was shaped like a "C". They didn't come sharp either but i have someone who will fix the tip and sharpen it at no charge, so it wasn't a big deal. If you put the blade into the sheath to hard it will poke through. Overall these blades are a good buy for the price.

1. When ordering I was unsure about picking this sword or getting another set of 3, in a different color. I must say I am thrilled with my choice. The reverse blade isn't sharp, beveled; but it is an authentic weight and is made to the best quality you'll see below the $300 price range. Clearly this sword is capable of being sharpened to battle readiness, but its hard to risk damaging it. The fact that the blade is reversed makes my favorite part of the purchase, a truly unique sword.



2. Loved the feeling of holding this blade in my hands. The hilt seemed much longer than most swords I have, but that's great since I find it hard to grasp some swords with two hands. Just felt a touch excited when I examined the blade and touched the backside to feel the sharpened side. Heh, my wife loved seeing it too. Not overly excited about the stand since the sword kind of sits oddly in it, but it's not enough to dash the happiness of having this sword.

5. Delivery was on time,this is a very sturdy sword. Considering that people say "you get what you pay for" I got more than I expected. Although you have to understand that it is not super sharp and therefore not made to cut stuff such as bamboo. Also its blade being on the opposite side will make it difficult to swing properly. There one specific problem that irritated me two days after I recieved it. I noticed there was some sticky substance(much like tape residue) along the the unsharpened end of the sword, it was about the width of a quarters edge.It is removable but you should be careful not to dmage the blade.

1. Bought this to hold a real sword (meaning it has significant weight), and it works great. The belt loops are big enough to fit over your oversized pirate-style belts, and the holster can be adjusted to almost any size if you're clever with the laces--meaning, my scabbard was considerably thinner than most 'toy' swords, but by re-routing the laces I easily made it fit nice and snug. Real leather, looks pretty authentic.



2. I had a similar experience as [N. Johnson]. I bought this to hold a full-size rapier for a costume and it worked pretty well. I had to be creative with the lacing to get the scabbard to fit, but it worked in the end. I pulled on the laces a bit too tightly and tore the tip off of one, but I should have expected that from real leather straps. (It's easy to get replacement ones from a craft store if need be). I also had to space the hooks when attaching to my belt or else the heavy sword would just hang straight down, which less helpful when dashing about in a heroic manner.
   
   All in all, pretty functional and authentic looking. Good for the price too, but they get you on shipping every time!

4. Real leather, nice design, sturdy fittings. The only problem is fit. It works best on a wide belt with a large sword. For the price, I haven't found anything that compares.



5. This works exactly as advertised and is able to hold a relatively heavy sword with ease. It is also adjustable so you can hold almost any size and shape sword in it. I can't think of any improvements I would make on this product and it is very inexpensive. Shipping ended up costing more than the product itself, but I am very happy with the quality of this item.

2. Short version, unless you want to put in time and effort to modify this to make it a prop, DON'T BUY THIS!!!
   Parents: this is DANGEROUS. Not a toy, not razor sharp, but not anything a child should have access to. Also might not be legal to carry in your area.
   People buying for costumes: see the same thing for parents, also read recommendation on modifying.
   Collectors: Really? Why are you looking at this? This is not for you. It looks bad, the construction is worse, so please whatever you do don't buy this.
   Theatrical Props people: OK, it is with this group in mind that i write my recommendation on modifying this item, as a technical theater major i know how budgets, are, and how this might be a decent option if you have time to do the modifications.
   
   I ordered this product and with other reviews I was prepared for what I did get, I was hoping for better but it is what it is. It is large, almost obscenely so,very thick, I have a decent knife collection, and this thing is larger than what is legal to carry so don't think of this as a good Halloween accessory. It comes sharp enough to do some damage, and should most definitely not be given to anyone who can not treat it with the respect a large folding knife (that is what it really is) deserves, that includes children, teenagers, and anyone who is going to be drinking that night. The hinge is exceedingly loose and at first was hard to open but now will fly open at any instant, also it WILL shut on you hands if you are not careful, (this is within 12 hours of getting the product). The handle designs are far from movie accurate and are a poor quality steel casting, highly unimpressed. The blade itself, if worked for an extended period of time, will take a good edge, and if one is looking for a project you could easily rework the blade and make it more appropriate for either prop status, or with a lot of work an actual razor. Now the reason this is not a real razor is blade thickness, this blade is very thick and the angel is not one that allows for a gradual approach to a very thin extremely sharp edge, this is more of your average pocket knife angle just on a thicker piece of metal. Also the blade is marked as a product of china, in a quite obvious place.
   
   
   The saddest part is given some rudimentary tools, i could make a much better replica. However, given the price, if you NEED something similar for costumes, or props, this is not the end of the world, just DULL this first, i recommend getting a flat whetstone (a grinder would work well too, however make sure to secure the blade in place, or even take the entire thing apart to work on the blade on its own and make sure you have the files and proper finishing tools to bring to a proper polish), and spending a good amount of time rounding the edge, ensure that while appearing that it still has an edge that it is impossible to cause bodily harm (I'm talking make this duller than a butter knife), then file off the made in china markings, and re-polish to a mirror finish. Also if so inclined a good flex shaft drill set can help improve the handle designs I say this to those involved in theater, as i know how sometimes you need a cheap prop.
   
   To summarize, this is NOT a prop, toy, or a razor. What this is, is highly dangerous, a bad knife, a bad weapon, and a good way to hurt yourself. However with time and effort, this has the capability to be transformed into a much nicer prop, for theatrical use. DO NOT carry this on you, its size will most likely get you in trouble.



3. This is one of the larger straight edges I've ever seen\handled. And I'm very impressed by the sturdy weight of it. It's very solid, even the handle is all metal -no plastic on this replica.
   
   I'd like to give one warning: As someone who loves and regularly handles a wide variety of blades, etc; this is the sharpest I've ever received a blade out of the package. We're talking crazy sharp. As I was cleaning the blade with minimal pressure, it cut right through my cloth and into two of my fingers in what seemed like an instant. That's never happened to me before.
   
   In regards to the guy who said it was dull... He either got an odd one, or bought a different product. Because I've seen others comment on the sharpness of it, and I will personally say it came crazy sharp right out of the package.
   
   Lastly, if you're a small person, or have small hands, this is absolutely not the prop or blade for you to be wielding, this thin is huge. I'm a giant of a man, and it's just a bit on the large side even for me. It's a gorgeous blade, but not the most practical. ^_^



4. i love this knife!!! when i got it i cut my self opening it.... a bit sticky at first but some wd40 will fix that right up. and after i rolled over the edge of it (porposfuly) it was a perfect prop. great buy



5. I get this razor base on the high rating but this razor turn out useless as a razor. I have owned ,used, collected, sold a lot of straight razor in my life, and this is not a real straight razor at all. While normal straight razor has very thin blade so it is easy to hone, this razor's blade is as thicker than normal knife.
   
   So this is a knife disguise as a razor. DO NOT get this for shaving at all.
   
   The built quality is pretty good for a razor, but this is not a razor, so the 1 star.

1. I got it today. Looks good. The color of the string around the sheath is black not black and white or just gold. Kind of misleading. Its black but still nice. Kinda reminds me of black shoe laces without the plastic tips. Still a nice display sword. Does not come with a stand but I will find a nice one online. You pay for what you get what can I say.



2. I was very happy with my order. Not as sharp as i thought but over all everything i expected. The product also came in amazing time. I would deff. order from here again.



3. I just received my Hanzo sword and it is fantastic. I never imagined i could get a sword like this for such a low price. Is it going to do you any good if you have to fight ninjas? No. However, I am fairly certain it would do the trick against Zombies (should that issue ever come up), unless they were ninja zombies.... then im pretty sure we are all going to be in a world of pain.
   Okay.... my point is that this is a wonderful display piece. Don't try to use it to chop down trees and you will be quite happy with it.... it is a hanzo sword after all.



4. I was able to bend this katana with my hands!!! what the heck this thing is a real piece. And it is not even sharp. This is a really suckish katana, no wonder it was only 13 bucks. I will certainly not be buying from thins seller again.



5. I have just received the sword. It was ok but not as I have expected. It wasnt sharp and also it was not straight. It might happen during the travel though.

1. this thing is great there is not any problems yet and i have had it for 5 months. it doesnt come very sharp and it was a little sticky when i unwrapped it but it also came with a free smaller knife

2. As my title suggests, this sword is a display piece. It is made of stainless steel. A real sword is made of carbonized steel and needs to be oiled every month to prevent rust. Also one guy said his snapped at the handle. To me that implies it isnt really full tang. Full tang means that the blade is just as thick inside the handle and makes your weapon more reliable. Show pieces make the tang as thin as a half inch or less, you could snap it with your bare hands. There are many people out there holding a handle while their blade goes flying because they didn't realize they did not have a sword meant for anything but hanging on a wall. I'm not saying this sword isnt cool for the price but if you want usability you really need to spend nearer to 200-500. You get what you pay for. LOOK for CARBONIZED steel and HEAT tempered as well as FULL tang. And be sure to take proper care because tho carbonized steel makes a usable if not awesome weapon it can rust if not oiled. This stainless steel SHOWPIECE will probably never rust so put it on the wall and forget about it. All you can really do is show it to your friends and maybe intimidate an idiot. Note* i have seen showpiece swords being played with break at the handle and the blade swung around and stabbed the user.

5. This tang style blade, though small in length is incredibly accurate in detail. When I received it I noted first off it needed to be sharpened, and the weave design in the rope handle was slipping. I unwrapped it and wrapped it back up in over-over fashion and the handle is now tighter in grip. This blade would be handy on a camping trip to cut down debris or kindling for a fire. As a sword practitioner I found it's lightweight to be odd as I'm used to using heavier blades and katana. After sharpening it I tested it on a few low lying branches and it cut through them like butter, the serrated center would be ideal for many tasks. I give this product approval.

1. For the price, this set is a really good deal. They are very stylish and will look good in any room. I am really glad that I decided to buy these swords



2. 5 stars for the unbelievable price! I've seen plastic swords at Toys R Us that were more expensive than this set, which includes the 3 swords, carved hilts and wooden stand.
   
   Of course, the material quality corresponds to the price: the hand guards are metalized plastic, the hilt is wrapped in what is essentially a shoelace, and so on. The sheath also appears to be a type of high impact plastic. The blades are nice and solid, the tips are sharp but the edge itself is dull.
   
   This item is really made for display only and in that category it does an excellent job. The materials and construction give the appearance of a much more expensive item and the carved hilt is a nice touch.



3. They are awesome!!! I did not expect much when my young son and I ordered these for our music room, wich has a dragon, orient, sword thing going on with dark red walls and a large dragon rug. The swords were for looks anyways. They shiped very fast and were packed very well!! They are awesome, very well made not a flaw on them. The stand is made of wood and that is even flawless. Excellent workmanship. The blades have asian writing on them and a very cool sharpening patern, looks awesome and came oiled so they don't rust. Beautiful covers with the dragons on them. I can't say enough about these swords. Plus they gave use a gift, a little letter opener, desk top samurai sword on a stan, it look awesome. For the money you simple can not beat these. We are not collectors or anything we just wanted the swords to look cool on a shelf, well they do!

5. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! Best present I ever got for someone! The price is CRAZY! SO cheap. The design is jaw dropping. Its intricate, and it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. My bf was giddy happy like a little kid when he got this. He does jiu jitsu and this is PERFECT for him to practice with. AMAZING! Would recommend it for anyone that does martial arts as a practice tool.

5 comments about Japanese Sword Cleaning Kit.

1. Im glad I bought this, because it is essential to anyone who owns a sword (that isnt made from stainless steel of course). Keep in mind that while this is a Japanese style cleaning kit, you dont have to use it only on Japanese style blades. It will still work very nicely on other swords, knives, etc. If your blade is already rusting, this kit will not help you. It only prevents the rust from forming in the first place.
   
   Included in this kit is everything the description says it does. Not only that, but it also has 2 spare bamboo mekugi pins and a mekuginuki (tiny hammer) for removing and putting in the mekugi pins for a Japanese sword. The top of the hammer can be unscrewed to act as a stake to help remove the pins. The powder should last a good while, but the oil comes in a very small bottle which wont last very long, especially if you clean your swords frequently. It also only has 2 rice paper cloths, but they can be cut in half to make 4. This isnt a huge deal as you can use any soft disposable cloth (like tissues or toilet paper) to wipe the blade and apply the oil.
   
   The box is made out of a soft wood, but still in good condition. It did not arrive damaged in any way, nor was the kanji writing on the lid damaged or faded. Since I bought this for what was inside, the outside aesthetics dont really concern me all that much anyway.
   
   I have yet to see my swords show any signs of corrosion. Overall, im satisfied with this purchase and I do recommend it. I am giving it a full 5 stars because it is for what it should be. My only complaint is the tiny oil bottle, but seeing as how you shouldnt be drenching your blade in oil, it's size is acceptable for someone who doesnt clean their blade frequently. The box could fit a bottle twice it's size, but whatever. For nearly $5, id say this cleaning kit is defenatly worth the price.



2. If you don't take care of your swords, you'll eventually fine them pocked with rust. The oil and powder here keep the swords gleaming brightly and in great condition. The oil container is fragile, and mine broke upon shipping, but the company quickly sent a replacement.



3. decent kit not really top notch the powder ball i dont think is powdered wet stone but still works in a pinch for the money, i have seen more expensive kits with the same or less quality.

1. I received this item as a gift and was amazed at the poor quality. As soon as I unpacked it the (very obvious) glue holding the wrapping around the handle let go and the wrapping began to unwind. I'm only glad that my gift giver didn't waste much money on this item. Although what was spent was wasted. Very, very shoddy work.



2. This is not my first cat-of-nine-tails whip but it is actually the best one for the money. I bought 2 of these to use as gifts and I ended up keeping one of them. This whip has a great handle/grip, very comfortable to hold great for long sessions. It is also well balance so it doesnt require a lot of aiming to hit the wanted spot. Also, what counts, Im receiving excellent feedbacks from the people at the other end of it. It delivers your message loud and clear at normal swing with a very good increase in...love as you increase the swing speed and force. This product delivers!
