1. I've been Muay Thai boxing since late 1998, and have used a fair number of gumshields in that time. When I saw the Brain Pad PRO AIR, I thought to myself "What a great idea".
   One of the biggest drawbacks of conventional gumshields is the ability to breathe unhindered whilst wearing them. The logic of positioning the jaw-bone away from the base of the skull is also a pretty sound, again, most conventional gumshields fail to do this.
   
   Whilst the Brain Pad PRO AIR manages to both provide unrestricted breathing, and cushion the skull from impacts to the jaw-bone, it's major drawback (and reason for the substandard review), is that it is almost impossible to mold to the teeth and gums comfortably.
   
   The 'sucking a lemon' technique whilst standing over a pan of boiling water works great, unless your gumshield has a large hole in the front for breathing, and moves your jaw into such a position so as to prevent your lips properly closing around the shield and creating a vacuum.
   
   So there you go, I wanted to love it, the idea was great, and it delivered on its 2 main promises... But anyone that has ever had to endure an uncomfortable, ill-fitting gumshield will know why I gave this 2 stars.
   Sorry Brain Pad.



2. The Brain pad works good and is easy to mold. However it doesn't last to long with hard use.



3. Needed a mouth guard for wrestling that I could use with braces.
   The Brain Pad pro plus is perfect. It protects my upper and lower jaw while allowing me to breathe freely; It molded easily to the shape of my mouth and does NOT interfere with my braces. Highly recommended.
