  1. Its your basic yoga mat. The thickness is fine and I have had no problems with workmanship. I do have two complaints. Firstly, its a short mat. The mat is just about 67 inches or 170 cm long. If you're taller, you need a longer mat. My second complaint is that during yoga class, when I sweat the mat becomes slippery. For both these reasons I'm lookin for another one. This mat wins on price.

  2. This is my first own mat.
I don't know about other mats but for the price and the quality, this is a good item to buy.

5 comments about Swiss Gear Self Inflating Mat (Dark Grey).
  1. This isn't a very good mat I didn't even like slepping on it one night.

  2. The product did self-inflate, but not very much. Left on it's own, it's only as comfortable as the non-inflatable mats (like thick yoga mat). I ended up giving 4 full breaths of air to make it comfortable. With so much air, you barely feel the foam in the mat, which made me upset because I've been on nicer self-inflating mats that rose the full 1.5" and didn't need additional breaths. The pillow's convenient too. Weight is medium to heavy but still portable. Best left to car-camping. I've used it many times for sleepovers and it's very durable. Wish it came with a sack, but the compression straps are ok.

  3. I bought this mat because it was a lot less expensive than many of the Thermarest options out there and I needed something quick. Like others have said, it does not inflate very well on it's own and takes a good few breaths to get it to inflate to a comfortable thickness. The attached pillow is a very nice feature and is separately adjustable from the main mat to fit your preference.

The sleeping area itself is my only complaint. Wegner should have put in more rivet points or use another method to keep the pad more flat and even. When sleeping on this mat, most of the air goes to the area where there is the least weight: the feet. It took some adjusting to get my feet from flying into the air when I laid down or rolled over, but it is possible to find a reasonably comfortable position on this mat. The attached pack straps are handy to keep the mat closed too.

Overall, I would say this mat is decent for the low price and having an attached pillow is nice. It might be a bit bulky for those that like to backpack, but is good for the car camper.

  4. I followed the instructions and inflated it and deflated it overnight before I left for a camping trip. The first night when I laid down on it the mattress blew out a hole in it and all the air escaped. I weigh less than 200lbs so it should not be a weight issue. I also noticed before that like many of the other reviews this is not really a 'Self Inflating Mat' since you have to finish filling it up with air by blowing in it. It may become self inflating over time as the foam expands, unfortunately mine did not last long enough to allow me to test that.

  5. I have purchased over 4 of these... all under $25 each.
One came out of the package with a split seam and the others lasted one, maybe two trips. I now have an REI self inflating pad.

  1. Read the reviews of the people that don't expect this thing to be a plush mattress at a 5 star hotel. You are using this for CAMPING right? Not to replace your inner spring?

What kind of instructions would you like? "Put in microwave and eat in 10 seconds"? If you weigh too much for this then get 2 of them. Therm-a-Rest mattresses cost 3 times this and do the same exact thing.

  2. I own two Coleman self inflating mats and on our current trip we just need some cushioning between us and the floor while staying with some friends for the weekend.

So we went off to Target, saw these mats, and figured they were a bit cheaper than our Coleman's but they'd do for a couple of nights.

The mat itself is the standard plastic/nylon constructions. And that's all it is. It does not self inflate. I can huff and puff a bit into it and get some air into the chambers - but that's a far cry from an relaxing 10 minutes each.

I will return them both tomorrow and swear off Greatland branded gear. If it's this hard for them to figure out a self inflating mat then I imagine something as complex as a tent is way out of their league.

  3. The packaging claimed that this was self-inflating, but it was NOT. You'll get light-headed inflating it.

It was too narrow for me. I got it so I could crash on the floor when I'm not at home, but it too narrow to be useful. It was also uncomfortable.

    Get something else.

The only-thing self-inflating about this mat was the bogus advertizing on the outside of the box.

  4. bought this and i am taking it back. It did not inflate but if you your self blow into it and inflate it it is great but other wise it does not inflate at all. Don't buy spend the extra money and get something good.

  5. This thing is worthless! I bought it for my kids for sleepovers, thinking it would be quicker to blow up than the other air mattresses we have which require a pump. This so-called "self-inflating" mattress does not inflate ONE BIT! There are no instructions on the box. I assumed if it "inflates in seconds," like the box says, it would just inflate automatically when I unrolled it. NO! It does nothing at all. Twisting and turning the air valve proved useless too. I am not wasting my time blowing into the valve; avoiding using the pump is the whole reason I bought this thing! This product should be recalled for false advertising. As for a few of the reviewers who said it was a fine enough product, that is just plain ridiculous! This product does not work--plain and simple. I'm returning it. Buyer beware.

  1. I think the wipes are a little small to clean an entire may but otherwise they seem to do what they are supposed to. -1 star for size. Pleasant smelling but not at all lingering or overpowering. I suggest using this right before your practice as the aromatherapy dissapates pretty fast.

  2. I love the Josha wipes. They don't have an overpowering smell and they clean my yoga mat efficiently. They are better than anything else I've ever used.
