- This is not the cheapest (or most expensive) sleeping pad you can buy, or the thickest, but its very close to perfect for weekend warrior backpackers like myself. Very small, easy to get it to pack back close to the size of the package i bought it in. Owned mine for over a year and it is still in perfect shape. If you are someone who notices rocks and roots a bit more than a normal person, go with a thicker pad, or the ProLite 4
- I just finished using this pad on a two-week backpacking trip. It worked fine for me the entire time. It packs small and it is reasonably light. It's pretty thin, so if you are looking for a pad for normal tent camping you may want to opt for a thicker pad. If you get this pad, I would recommend the Trekker chair to go with it. This lets you turn your pad into a camp chair and it works great.
- I recently went on a couple of camping trips.... One using this pad and another on an air mattress.. Let me tell you, this pad was actually a lot more comfortable than my air mattress... It was just like sleeping on a bed at home.. Item rolls up into a compact sack that fits perfectly in my day pack. I highly recommend this product to anyone that is going camping. Definately worth the price.
- My 15 year old son sectional hikes the AP with his dad and we got this for him for his birthday. He loves it! It made a big difference in his quality of sleep. It is easy to use and is worth spending the extra money to get the quality mat that will hold up. (And get the stuff sack too!)

- These tiles are a great alternative to an area rug in my pre-teen son's room. His color scheme is black, red, gray and white and the dark gray tiles are perfect.

- The mat is good, however I would recommend a mat that is wider.
- Good solid quality. I have my treadmill on it. The mat protects my carpet and it cleans easily. Good investment at a decent price.

- I never had another kneepad, so I can't compare it with other kneepads. But this product worked fine for me and was surprisingly comfortable. It was also machine washable, which was a big plus. I deducted one star because after the first wash, some of the threads came loose a little.

- I love this mat towel. It is the only one of it's kind (that I've found) and whoever came up w/ it is a genius. I bought it about a year ago and attend classes 2-3 times a week. Needless to say, it's been through a lot of abuse and washings (I air dry b/c it's "greener" and b/c the tag said it might stain the inside of the dryer) and it still looks & works great. It's very helpful in giving you a little bit more stability from slipping/sliding on your mat (we live in a very warm climate, so perspiration is an issue). I've found I can try more intense poses with more confidence, and less slipping.

- The item looks stylish, but I wish it were a little easier to insert your (sticky) yoga mat. Also, there's no way to secure the surplus strap, which seems excessively long. Overall, it is a nice item though.

- I had bought a yoga mat when I started doing Pilates, mistakenly thinking they were the same thing. Once I realized the difference I ordered this mat (I've been using the Stott Pilates DVD's and absolutely love them!) The mat is nice and thick, there's more cushion for the spine than the flatter yoga mat and I'm not at all sore after the workout.

- I was expecting something more robust.
The promo shows a fabric taught and tight over firm foam, but in reality, the fabric is somewhat loose and puckered.
Cover has a plastic feel that seems like the type to crack at edges in the not too distant future.
Foam is composite and not as firm as I had hoped. NOT suited for high impact training, such as Judo.
It really has a Made In China feel to it. Which it was.
The person complaining above about weigh and height must be a effete midget, as the mats folded are less than four feet and very lightweight. I'm not big and I tote this easily one handed.
If you want something durable and for life, get a heavier grade gymnastics mat. This is suitable for portability.
- This item was ordered, shipped and delivered in a prompt easy fashion. It's pretty much what it says it is and works just fine. It may be a bit bulky but that can't be helped since it is a larger size (area) mat.
Overall, I was happy with the price and product.
- I ordered this mat a couple of months ago to do toning and arobic exercises to a video. This mat is way too soft for this purpose. It is good for laying on but not for standing exercises. I would not recommend this mat.
- It's definitely a well sized and nicely made mat, however it's not somewhat universal and only suitable for certain types of exercises. Being definitely too soft for any kind of balance or wrestling exercises this mat is still pretty good for tumbling (kids or teens at the most). One of its major benefits (aside from the size) is its light weight which is also its significant flaw - one has to constantly interrupt the routine to return the mat to its original location for it does move as you do, and sometimes even faster.
- Good amount of cushioning. Cover is certainly durable enough for home use, and rivals that of commercial pads at a gym/health club. My motivation for buying was to mimic the stretching area at my gym, and it meets that expectation fine. Plenty of room to lay out (I'm 6 feet tall). I also noticed a bonus that the cover sections have zippers, so I could conceiveably replace the pads if desired or necessary.

5 comments about Greatland® Self-Inflating Mat.
- Read the reviews of the people that don't expect this thing to be a plush mattress at a 5 star hotel. You are using this for CAMPING right? Not to replace your inner spring?
What kind of instructions would you like? "Put in microwave and eat in 10 seconds"? If you weigh too much for this then get 2 of them. Therm-a-Rest mattresses cost 3 times this and do the same exact thing.
- I own two Coleman self inflating mats and on our current trip we just need some cushioning between us and the floor while staying with some friends for the weekend.
So we went off to Target, saw these mats, and figured they were a bit cheaper than our Coleman's but they'd do for a couple of nights.
The mat itself is the standard plastic/nylon constructions. And that's all it is. It does not self inflate. I can huff and puff a bit into it and get some air into the chambers - but that's a far cry from an relaxing 10 minutes each.
I will return them both tomorrow and swear off Greatland branded gear. If it's this hard for them to figure out a self inflating mat then I imagine something as complex as a tent is way out of their league.
- The packaging claimed that this was self-inflating, but it was NOT. You'll get light-headed inflating it.
It was too narrow for me. I got it so I could crash on the floor when I'm not at home, but it too narrow to be useful. It was also uncomfortable.
Get something else.
The only-thing self-inflating about this mat was the bogus advertizing on the outside of the box.
- bought this and i am taking it back. It did not inflate but if you your self blow into it and inflate it it is great but other wise it does not inflate at all. Don't buy spend the extra money and get something good.
- This thing is worthless! I bought it for my kids for sleepovers, thinking it would be quicker to blow up than the other air mattresses we have which require a pump. This so-called "self-inflating" mattress does not inflate ONE BIT! There are no instructions on the box. I assumed if it "inflates in seconds," like the box says, it would just inflate automatically when I unrolled it. NO! It does nothing at all. Twisting and turning the air valve proved useless too. I am not wasting my time blowing into the valve; avoiding using the pump is the whole reason I bought this thing! This product should be recalled for false advertising. As for a few of the reviewers who said it was a fine enough product, that is just plain ridiculous! This product does not work--plain and simple. I'm returning it. Buyer beware.
