5 comments about ToeSox Yoga / Pilates Toe Socks, Organic Cotton.
  1. These socks are great. I went small to make sure that they stayed snug on my feet and I haven't had any problems with them. I wear them every time I do yoga now and they are a tremendous help to me as I don't have a "sticky" yoga mat. Before I was constantly preoccupied by my feet slipping slightly when in certain poses. Now I can focus only on what I'm doing and it's a better experience.

  2. I recently began taking pilates & found that my feet got very cold & sweaty (now how can that be?) on the hardwood gym floor. Since regular socks can be too slippery I purchased two pairs of ToeSox & now my feet stay warm & toasty with no slipping on the floor. I will say, however, that it takes a while to get the sox on all of the toes. Also, the laundry instructions say wash inside out. I turn them inside out as I take them off, but turning them right side out after washing & drying can be a bit painstaking.

  3. I love love LOVE these Sox! They keep my feet firmly planted to the earth. I constantly have trouble with regular socks sliding around (too large). I chose the size very carefully, resulting in ZERO trouble with the sox not staying in place. ToeSox is very considerate with their options. A+!

    One major purchasing suggestion:
*Make certain to get the proper size!

  4. These socks are perfect to do yoga and what not, but once I got them all I did was use them around the house. They are perfect lounging socks. They don't slip off your feet they don't feel uncomfortable they almost feel as if they aren't there. I love these. Perfect. Just make sure you have the right size.

  5. Perfect socks to wear during a yoga practice, especially in an air conditioned room. Keeps your feet warm and prevents slipping. Everyone in my class asks where they can be purchased. Reasonably priced and easy care.

  1. this balance trainer is perfect. it's a very nice, thick plastic just like the ones you see at the gym. so many exercises to do!

  2. I have been suffering from leg pain for over 15 years, due to a sports injury. The problem may be a damaged tendon or ligament high up on my left leg. I have tried all kinds of chairs and pads. I have even used expensive jell cushions. Nothing seems to work. This product goes in the pile of do-nothings. In fact, my pain increased using it. Granted, I may not be using it as it is designed, as an excercise tool. Never-the-less, it is not for me or perhaps others who suffer from similar leg pain. I do a lot of work on the computer, hence the need for a comfortable seat.

  3. My sister purchased a cushion similar to this one from her physical therapist for about $50. It is the best thing I have used for sitting on hard bleacher seats during sporting events. (Hers was similar to: Fitball Seating Disc Balance Cushion)

I didn't want to pay $50, so when I found this at Ross for under $10, it became mine. It works as well as her $50 cushion and I am delighted that I didn't have to pay the higher price.

For the reviewers who are not able to use this in the traditional way, try sitting on it the next time you go to a football or basketball game.

  4. I got this to do proprioception exercises as part of my knee rehab. It's a lot like the one my PT gym has. The only problem I've had with it is that you can't adjust the inflation and it's a little under-inflated for me. The main exercise I do on it is to stand on it with one foot - but if I try to do it without shoes on (which I'd prefer) my foot bottoms out and ends up partly resting on the floor instead of on the cushion. My feet are women's size 7.5. (It works if I just wear flip flops.) Anyway, the price was decent and it's pretty good, just not adjustable.

  5. The Fit Disc can be used for balance and core strengthening (abdominal and lower back) exercises. Enhances the posture as well.
I find the balance discs a great portable tool to help with a workout.
Some exercises that can be done using the Fit Disc:

-Standing single leg balance, core balance sit
-Sitting on the disc to do crunches and other ab exercises
-Standing on the disc while using dumbbells for arm strengthening
-Standing on the disc while doing squats
-Use the disc while doing lunges, step ups, push ups, planks

  1. Got it, like it. The Velcro straps are attached to the mat and it came with a fish net carry bag. The foam doesn't smell and is the type that should hold up under use. It is more of an exercise mat than a thin yoga mat. I like it, good value.

  2. I returned the merchandise because I couldn't use it. There was nothing wrong with the product itself or the service of the company selling it. Janet Beckwith

  3. I'm surprised by how soft it truly is. It does the job - didn't have to spend too much on it, either.

I'll sign back on and describe how durable it is after using it for more than a few months.

  4. Product was shipped from Amazon out of Reno, Nv. UPS pulled up and I walked out to receive my purchase. I found the driver wildly taping up a
very large, crushed box. Took the box into my house and opened it. I found the box to be approximately 3 times larger than the size required. Box contained no packing material. The mat itself is a very attractive design and is contained in a fishnet bag with draw string. This is my first exercise mat and I find that it is not wide enough (24"). Moreover, I find myself worrying about how long the foam/sponge material is going to hold up. Width and material type were presented in "product description", so I was forwarned. I also find that the shock absorbing quality of the foam is hardly apparant. There are a number of larger, vinyl covered mats availabe from Amazon, and if I had it to do over again
I would have chosen from that group.

  1. I'm very pleased with it, the mat is of good quality, rugged. I have placed my workout bench on it to protect the hardwood floor beneath. Shipping was super quick, arrived two days later. Would highly recommend it.

  2. Put these mats (3/8) under my rowing machine and LifeCycle. These pads really save the wear and tear on the carpet. My wife is pleased, therefore I am pleased. Would buy again.

  3. This excercise mat is great - it is very sturdy and makes a great base for my elliptical machine. I am very happy with this purchase.

  4. Have it underneath my recumbent bike and I am glad I do, it helps distribute the weight onto the carpet evenly and gives a sense of stability while using the bike. Great product whose purpose is fulfilled!

  5. This mat is too thin and weak for my needs. It split under the weight of my treadmill where the rear left foot sits. This caused a tear that went about 8 inches to the end of the matt. I will be looking for another more sturdy mat, even if it costs more.

  1. Nice and firm. Be careful or you will fall asleep on it when stretching :-). Much better than some of the more expensive kind. Durable, thick padding and worth every penny (and more).

  2. It is a bit more to carry, but is well worth it for the back support and easy fold-out which it provides! The days of sliding mats and scraped
knees are over with this product! Aerobics just got ten times better!

  3. This mat is great for working out... it's extra thick, yet soft - makes doing all kinds of lying down floor exercises much more comfortable.

  4. Order came very fast. This mat is awesome, I have been using it every week since I got it, Thick, comfortable I really don't know how I got along without it. Excellent Mat...

  5. I ordered this to replace my yoga mats due to Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis. I was unable to exercise due to extreme pain from the least amount of pressure and this mat was a life saver! I am now able to exercise once again, from yoga to Tai Chi to any form of exercise requiring a mat. I researched this particular mat and this was by far the best value.

5 comments about Manduka 71-Inch Yoga Mat (Black).
  1. I debated about this mat for some time. I'm an avid practitioner, and in five years of religious practice, the Manduka mat was my fourth mat purchased. I started with a Prana mat that went bald around the hands and feet positions for down dog. Then, i went to the lululemon mat, which was great at first, but then just lost its traction and became very slippery, even with the yogitoes. My next mat was the Jade Harmony mat, which was my favorite, until the potent natural rubber smell just became distracting, and it too started shedding little rubber pieces and got threadbare in spots. With the Manduka, there was an immediate difference. It never bunches up and gets stickier with use. Why wouldn't you want a mat that is guaranteed for two lifetimes? You can put it in your will.

  2. Look no further for a great mat. This one is sticky and longer and wider than most mats. It is heavy, but well worth it in poses as the thickness is greatly appreciated!

  3. I have never used a better mat. The "Manduka Black Mat" is stable, well made and offers a solid base on carpet and hard floors. After going through several "ECO" mats, I have come to the realization that it is better to own a mat that will last forever than to continually waste precious resources on mats that end up in the landfill after several months.

  4. Simply the best mat I have ever practiced on. You don't slip, though I do use yoga toes after the first half hour.

  5. I bought this mat about a year and a half ago and love it! It is very thick, which makes it much more comfortable than thinner mats. It is also very sturdy, which makes it a lot better for balancing poses than the typical squishier yoga mats. I was traveling last week and had to use a mat at the studio--the squishiness and thinness of the mat made my feet hurt a lot! I bought my boyfriend the purple travel one and he liked it, but thought it was too short so then I bought him the 85-inch black mat and he loves it!

  1. I've only used this mat once but I really love it. It stays in place wonderfully and it's big enough for me to lay down during some stretches and still keep my head on the mat. It doesn't slip and it's wide enough too. I would highly suggest it for yoga or pilates, even for sit-ups and exercise at home. I also love the color!

  2. good quality mat, stays firm on the floor, gives good friction when doing Downward facing dog, sun salutations and other hard positions.

  3. This is my first yoga mat and I am very pleased with it so far--it's durable, has just enough cushioning and it is very non-slip. The mat is a fantastic value for the price!

  4. I find this dark plum-colored mat attractive, sticky and a stable source for downward dog poses, upward bow variations, shoulder stands and everything else. It's long enough for me to keep my entire body on the mat when lying down (I'm 5'4). It's a good, basic product. The mat didn't even have a strong "new mat" smell when freshly opened, which was a plus.

My husband uses the mat for more conventional workouts - as a base for crunches and push ups. We've even used it for tai chi and qi gong.

At a good price point, this product's usefulness lies in between a light traveling yoga mat and a thick plush one. I found it too big to fold into my suitcase when I took a flight (actually, it could have been squished down to fit, but took up more room than I had to spare). So I do have to travel without a mat when I fly.

On the other hand, the mat is on the thin side when using over a bare, non-carpeted flooring. I have tried some of my friends' thicker mats, and those are much more comfortable on the heels of the hands in sideways planks and frequent knee-bearing transitions.

In a way, it might be better to have two mats - one light, thin one for traveling, and one thick, plush one for home use. I have actually ordered a second mat for my husband that I plan to use when he is not, doubling up on the mats for extra cushy comfort.

However, if you are limited in space or budget, or otherwise only need one good fitness/yoga mat, this mat is a solid choice.

    Recommended.

  5. I saw the reviews before buying it. When I got it, I didn't feel the smell is that strong as the people said (my nose is as good as dogs :P) Never move when I exercise on it! For the size, I would like to order a wider one. Length is just about good.

  1. Not recommended for a heavy workout....The only problem with this foam mat, is the curling of the ends....other then that ......the price is right....very satisfied.......

  2. I had high hopes for this product. However, it is quite too long and it has a squishy texture that is hard to keep your balance on when it comes to leg lifts.

  3. Received this mat a few weeks ago and have used it almost every day. Found it to be an excellant mat for the $ and it stores very easily.

  4. Boy was I happy to feel this product. It is plush and sturdy. It makes me hope that I can push out that extra ab crunch because the mat feels so good. Long too, just like me. Get it.

  5. This mat is well priced and does the job, as far as exercise mats go. However, hot weather causes it to stink up a room with rubber fumes. So have a think before you purchase it.

  1. These are great and I use them every time I practice, but... why are they so expensive??

Microfiber is not that expensive a material. I wish I could have more so that I'd have clean mats between launderings. I've searched for an alternative product/manufacturer and can't find one anywhere.

  2. This is great for anyone who sweats even a little bit. It helps you stay in a pose without slipping. And it hardly moves once in place.

  3. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE YOGA TOWEL, IT WORKS PERFECT WITH MY MAT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

  4. The only reason I'm leaving off a star is because I think it's a bit expensive.

After stating that though, I love my yogitoes mat. I have not had any bleeding problems with my blue/orange mat. I washed it in cold water the first time. Now, I throw in my mat, white towels and whatever yoga outfit I wore to class. I wash in one load (in cold) and dry in one load... and have not had a problem with the color rubbing off. I should note, I've thrown white tank tops in with it and the color has been fine. I also have not noticed a "less stickyness" even though I put mine in the dryer.

I just finally gave in and ordered a 2nd mat. I would highly recommend this for anyone who does hot yoga. You'll be glad to save your mat from sweat and stinkiness!

  5. These "mats" are perfect for laying on top of your yoga mat during practice. They fit exactly to the size of a standard yoga mat. They do not shrink when washed (hang to dry) and they come in great, fun colors. I love my yogitoes!

  1. This was my first bought yoga mat. I've tried a variety that the studio provides so I have to say that this is a very standard yoga mat. It's good and does the job, but the surface irks me a bit, because when I sweat, the surface gets a little slimy. Maybe over time though and through usage, this film will wear off and it will leave it a bit more matte. I gave it four stars though, because everything else is good and fine with this mat. It stays where it's supposed to and resists bunching up. I've tried an ideal one at the studio, just wish I could match it. I will probably shop around town next time so that I can try a bunch of different mats out, but this one will be more than fine for now.

  2. My mat came sooner than expected, and is really terrific. Just a note, all yoga mats need some time to air out so don't worry about the initial smell.

  3. I searched all over the web for an affordable 1/4" thick yoga mat and found this offering through Amazon. The mat performs very well, it is nice and long and the variety of colors made it easy for me to choose one that will not be mistaken for someone else's mat!

  4. I, too, had issues with the smell of the mat when I first got it. I purchased 2 mats--one for me and one for hubby--and had to air them out for well over two weeks. They must be unrolled to allow them to fully air out. I imagine if I had washed it off it might have happened more quickly.

That being said--once the smell dissipates--its a great mat with the extra padding that I now need.

  5. The main concerns for yoga fitness (at least for me) are:
Enough thickness to support my back, but not too much so my feet don't feel unstable when standing.
Good grip, even with sweaty feet or hands (if you are into power yoga, you know what I mean...)
Odorless. Again if you sweat a lot this is a main concern
Right length and width. Enough for your own comfort and small to fit inside an apartment
I have found all this concerns resolved in this yoga mat (that's why I give it a 5 stars).
And last but not least, the price is just right. It beats me how a single piece of synthetic foam could cost up to 80 bucks... I've just paid $16 for this "single piece of synthetic foam" and I'm really happy with it.
    Totally recommended.
