2 comments about Pen Knife.
- This is a sturdy steel pen housing a sharp little knife in the barrel. The blade is stouter than I expected, with a rather steep triangular cross-section. It's great to have in most places where carrying an obvious knife would raise eyebrows. (People get upset about the darnedest things these days.)
It's suited for opening envelopes and packages, cutting tape or twine, and similar tasks. Before you even think of using it for self-defense, do a little experiment. Leaving the pen barrel ON, covering the blade, grip the "handle" or ink end of the pen and forcefully "stab" the other end into something solid. Now note where your hand is. If the blade were exposed, your hand would probably be in it, sliced and bleeding. Consider that, and then devote some thought and practice to "palm bracing" the knife.
I'd give the pen and the knife 5 stars if it wrote better, gripped better, and were heavier and sturdier, perhaps with a thick metal cap on the end so you'd have the option of using it as a pocket stick. But it's quite worth the asking price. We have several in our house.
- Perhaps it was my desire to be more like James Bond that propelled me into purchasing this pen knife, but now that I have it I have yet to find a practical use for it.
As stated in previous reviews the knife is not ideal for a self defense purpose and the twist mechanism is stiff which adds difficultly in deploying and retracting the pen.
I would not recommend using this as a letter opener since the blade is short and it takes several motions to open a standard envelope. Better to purchase one of Amazon's many letter openers.
Save your money for the vodka martinis and fine Turkish cigarettes.

- Arrived in a timely manner/packaged well. However, the cane itself is of zero quality as it broke within days of receipt.
- the handle broke just trying to use it as a cane. I do not recommend this product

4 comments about Rebreakable Board.
- Works great. After a few breaks, though, you can tell it has weakened a bit. It still works, but I think I'm going to need the black board now.
- Buyer beware...I ordered two of these rebreakable boards through Amazon.com from The Martial Arts Store, one red and the other black. Both items were ordered at the same time in the same shopping cart. The Martial Arts Store shipped both items in seperate boxes and charged me for the shipping. I sent several emails and all I got from Sensei LaBar is "I need to talk to you on the phone". Both of these items would have fit into one box without a problem and would have saved me on shipping.

- This is a great tool for training, as a Martial Arts instructor I know that wood is better for feeling & exibition, but no need to waste wood on training sessions.
- These plastic boards with handles are good for speedbreaking with hand and foot techniques. I can tie one handle to a sturdy vertical post or suspend it by rope from a beam in the ceiling and perform speed breaks without any help from an assistant. When I have the students hold the board, they flinch less because the handles are much further away which gives some psychological sense of security for the people whose hands are holding the board. Surprisingly there is not a very large difference between difficulty for speed breaks or "dropped board" breaks when it comes to the three different board thicknesses (blue, red, and black). To make it more challenging, I've tied two boards together tightly (without spacing) at the handles using rope. Compared to other plastic boards in the past, I noticed my fists and knuckles hurt less when I break these boards since they are padded. Wood and brick absorb the energy from impact pretty well, but I've found with other brands of plastic boards, that plastic just reflects the impact energy as it is a more pliable material. Overall I am satisfied enough that I am ordering two more black boards for my own personal use and the others are going to stay at the school for the students to use. Incidentally, I also looked at the Dan Netherland (the guy who was supposed to have helped design these boards)website videos -- he is an interesting guy who does some incredible breaks. One of the videos shows him loading these same plastic boards on a board holding wall mounted device that costs over $500. I'll stay cheap and just do the speed breaks with rope suspension.

Very pleased with the Tomhawk. Good materials, Just not pleased with the blades edges. Should have less a degree for keeping a sharp edge.
But other wise, EXCELLANT.

4 comments about Hitsugaya Sword.
- This Hitsugaya sword is a great purchase. Don't be deceived by the picture though, the chord wrappings are dark blue, rather than Hitsugaya's classic light blue. However, the sheath with shoulder strap is pretty cool and you can really where the sword around.
The blade is a good quality, though it isn't sharp except at the tip. It is full size and full length for real katana fighting. Although the quality of the whole thing is not fully functional for real training, it is a great practice sword and looks great for cosplay.
The balance could be better, it isn't full tang, but I really do endorse this purchase. It is great for fans and/or collectors. And so much fun to use. It is probably the best bargain for a good quality Hitsugaya sword.
- my son likes this item because he feel like a real ninja with a blade. He play with cutting broken tree legs in our backyard. i like the real feel of the blade, but it's not for little ones. he plays with outside and keep out of sight of his 3 year old brother. You enjoy your purchase.
- I can tell you if I make another cosplay costume that requires this type of hardware this is my first place to look. I would only go somewhere else if this place did not have it or could not come up with it.
- The sword is relativly small and light (which makes sense based on the user). It fits easily into scabbard and is taken out of scabbard well however the design on the hand guard is not metal in addition the painting on the hand guard is not painted well and is not a very finished design. The quailty of the craftmanship for the sword is good.

5 comments about Cold Steel Walking City Stick Self Defense Cane.
- I placed and paid for an order for Self Deffence Cane comes with blade.
But they sent me only a cane. And I found out that Self Deffence Cane is illegal to buy in California, when I went to internet internet.
They don't explain and there is no refund for the difference of only a cane and cane sward.
They should contact the buyer before they ship whether the buyer still want the different product.
- I recently purchased the skull City Stick..I had no real reason to buy this other than because it was a neat item, but I am impressed.. I remember reading about these canes when they first came out and one complaint was that the fiberglass shaft was hollow and the finish was supposedly too glossy and could have blemishes. Well Cold Steel must have listened to the complaints because this thing is redesigned and both issues are fixed. The finish is a very nice primer black color and mine was perfect. I even pulled off the rubber tip and the shaft appears to have been filled in with epoxy..I know in a past review a owner mentioned inserting a wood dowel in the shaft, but it appears Cold Steel now seals it with epoxy. Even the top section that the head screws onto looks different than the one in the ColdSteel webpage..It appears in the past that it was a steel sleeve that fit over the shaft..Now the sleeve is inserted securely into the shaft AND has a pin thru-and-thru to ensure it does not spin loose when tightening the head and it is strong and secure. The fiberglass was well finished and very cleanly cut. The skull is pretty cool looking and the weight distribution was better than I expected.. It is obviously head heavy, but I was afraid it would be overly light in the cane area, not too bad actually ...The shaft is nice and solid feeling..The complaint about the tip being kinda hard plastic is true, but this is not really a medical cane anyway. If I really needed a cane and wanted this style design I would pick the lighter micarta head or smaller steel head anyway..
I do wish it were possible to purchase the different heads individually since the Micarta head would probably balance this perfectly, but the skull is just too darn cool not to own..If I ever sprain my ankle I am gonna bust this bad boy out at the first chance..
Overall I am very happy and impressed with the product
- elegant and beautifully made and VERY solid. Sticks end piece could be better - I had to buy a proper one from the pharmacy. Great product.
- Over time, the outer layer chips off rather badly and yes, you need proper rubber cane tip, but it is useful as a weight-bearing cane if neccessary (i.e. you need a cane to walk with either for weakness or maintaining your balance. Luckily, the length is just right for me at 37.5" with the new rubber tip. You can shorten it to the desired length, with a hack saw. And that is why it's no big deal to buy your own rubber tip, if it had one permantly attached you would very likely saw it off. Inspect the tip often and if it wears out, replace it, to prevent slipping.
If when you walk with it, you see your shoulder rising and falling, with the motion of the stick, it's too long. If you are tilted a bit, to the cane side, its too short. Turn it up side down, and have a friend hold the cane next to your arm. Wear your regular shoes for this, and at the crease in your wrist, have your friend mark it for length, with the new rubber tip, allow about an eigth of an inch if the cane cut off point won't allow the tip to remain in place. If you often wear shoes that are substantially different heights, you'll need another cane, adjust that one for a particular shoe. If you are worried abot cutting the city stick too short, buy an adjustable cane at the drugstore and get that right first. you may prefer a lighter cane. Strong, agile people can use a longer cane particularly going down a stair. If that describes you and you have a staircase you go up and down, cut the cane longer. It is boring to say so, but it is true, you can cut more off if you left it a bit long but you can't put it back.
Far more serious than a cane tip is a need for a cane leash, a loop of leather or nylon to hold the stick when you need to use the hand holding the cane. The standard is a loop of nylon with a stretch loop at the cane end, but this cane has a lot of taper, so it may be too big at the top. I used leather, and cut holes through it, so I could make a loop, that is tight enough to stay up,when you are not holding it. Maybe if you are more flexible than I am you can reach down and grab a loop at the bottom, but in my current state, I cannot.
I am toying with filling in the surface and repainting mine. If you want to lean it against a wall or table, it's better to place it head down so it will have less chance of falling (and damaging a floor tile when it hits). Waiters and waitresses seem to find a cane confusing and difficult, I got tired of them tipping over it and knocking it down, so I often stand it in the corner of the booth or hang it by the loop of an empty seat at the table.
Makes a useful "formal" cane, but not quite formal enough for Fred Astaire, in a Top Hat and tails. Good luck, and be careful.
- When I fractured my left foot in November, 2007, my orthopaedist recommended that I use a cane to keep excessive pressure off of my foot until it healed. I decided to go all out and purchase a City Stick, and I am sure glad I did. The 11-layer fiberglass, along with the steel grip and durable rubber end cap sure helped me out a lot when I had to go up the stairs in my house, or walk from my car to my office. I am grateful to have made a full recovery, and of course I would rather not need a cane at all, but when I did, Cold Steel supplied me with a great, durable product. I used it for 6 weeks, and it never faltered under my 265 pound frame. The price was good too, considering the no-compromise quality of this product. Needless to say, I am a satisfied customer, and will surely do business with Cold Steel again if I can ever make use of any of the other product they offer.
