  1. I paid for the fast shipping but the order came incomplete. I did not recive the complete order for two weeks. one boken had a crack already that i didn't notice at first but thats why i bought three. I wuold have liked to have gotten my shipping money back but i dont have time to keep calling them just glad it all showed up as pictured.

  2. It's cleanly put together, solid, and very inexpensive. I bought some bokken which were made of some mystery wood that seemed wormed eaten, and had uneven shape. This one is clean, strong and is useful for drill, practice, or beating down a door if you needed to.

  3. This product has the weight of a very good practice blade. It was shipped on time and in excellent condition.

  4. Product will be used in my aikido classes, and I am glad that I purchased it. Also, item was promptly delivered.

  1. They're a bit bulky and tight around your knuckles, but otherwise these gloves are great. They have plenty of padding and can be tightened so they don't slip off.

  2. I purchased the small/medium pair and they fit really well, but because of a manufacturing error there is a thick seam inside of the gloves that didn't get cut. It chafes against my finger a lot. They're a great pair of gloves. Really smooth fit, hard material on the knuckle, and the strap keeps the gloves snug. The under belly of the gloves are open, this feels a little airy than what I'm used to. Nice though.

  3. perfect! ...except I hit the boxing bag with it and my knuckle skin chafed off so I had to wear 2-3 bandaids for almost a week before it healed.

I bought sports-tape for my knuckles at a drug-store so I don't get hurt next time I use them again.

could be improved with longer fingers-coverage and a little padding on the thumb-knuckles too.

This product's great cuz it has a little elastic on the underwrist so you can velcro on the wrist-guard part easier with your free hand. Almost 100% perfect pair of MMA gloves...non-leather so no animals got killed in the making of it; which also makes it less expensive to make and affordable for us. yehay!

  1. I bought this product for my 15 year-old grandson. It arrived with a manufacturing defect to the hook latching it to the base. Within a matter of several days, a whole new system was received and has been getting "the beating" ever since. Both my grandson and his Dad are using it and it's very sturdy. I couldn't be more pleased with the service, the product and the use it's getting.

  2. If you can punch hard at all this isnt for you. I punched mine three times and the neck snapped from the force. Im not a professional boxer or anything so this is unacceptable.

I tried filling with water but it moves around a lot. Sand is much better. You should also put this on a carpet or a mat to reduce sliding. If this all goes well, you will have to watch out for the neck snapping, in which you will then have to empty all the sand out and return it. Terrible.

  3. I just got this today and was very disappointed. One of the bolt threads was missing so water kept coming out. It was also ridiculously hard to put together. After an hour or so of struggling I got it together just to find out it was very wobbly and didn't have enough weight to stand still. The bag also fit very loosely on the stand. After hitting it maybe 50 times the thing literally broke in half. I'm 6'5" 235lbs. and I hit really hard, but still, it shouldn't break no matter how hard you hit it. Not recommended at all...

  4. Just purchased one of these bags, and thought it would be ready for use in no time. I was SO wrong.

First, I filled the base with sand. It tells you to use water but I thought sand would work better. No problems there.
Second, I screwed on the sealing ring. Not a problem at all.
Then came the flex neck. It was such a chore screwing it on, and it took at least 30-45 minutes. The directions made it out to be so easy...
Then I had to screw the connecting pole onto the flex neck. It was way harder than it should have been, and I know some people will have trouble with this.

    Assembling the heavy bag:

Holy crap! Hardest part of the assembly. Again, I hate how the directions make it out to be so easy, but it's just really not. I wont go into detail, I'm just going to tell you all that it's the hardest part of assembly. Good luck, I guess.

My bag looks all deformed and unproportional (I guess I can fix it), but it's still a great bag and I will definitely enjoy using it once I fix the bag.

  5. This brand new "punching bag" broke on the fourth punch. I am not a professional boxer. Do not buy this.

  1. Obviously not the best, but for the price it does the job. I just got mine so Im not sure how long it will last. It looks cheaply made but still I think you can get a lot of use out of it, if you're not a serious boxer. Adjusts well to fit, and protects the face.

  2. These take abit of the sting out of punches but you can still tell when you are hit. For the money i think they are great.

  3. Great headgear for what you pay (especially when they are on sale). These will work for beginners, and for more advanced boxers who want to spar half-speed. I would not let anyone wear these who was going to take serious punches. Imagine an inch of thick-cell foam, and that is what you get. Velcro neck strap and velcro circumference adjuster ensure a tight fit.

  1. The product was of nice quality, arrived earlier than expected, was definately worth it's price.

  2. My order arrived very quickly, so I was extremely excited to try it out!! I open the box to reveal my new purchase. I gripped the handle and slapped the tails against my leg only to be sprayed with a dusting of black paint chips. What did I find? That smell wafting out of the box wasn't the leather smell I had anticipated; it was SPRAY PAINT. I went to wash my hands of the black residue, and one of the tails fell into the water, the water started turning black. underneath all that spray paint, there is actual leather, as promised. It's a red/brown leather, but I can assume it is genuine nonetheless.

This wasn't at all what I was hoping for, but I guess it depends on what you intend on using it for. If it is just a "for show" kind of item, then It's very presentable... but if you have other intentions, I'd think twice.

  3. This is a classic item that has it's own style for fun. Must be used reasonably of course so avoid eye contact especially. This item gives multiple stimulation with little effort & with that added safety. The real cat's meow!

  4. I bought this as a prop for my daugher in a play. The dye is not set and bleeds all over everything it touches. It will get on the hands and does not come off easily. Do not buy this item unles you don't care about shoddy products!

  1. this is a must have for anyone interested in boxing or boxing fitness. Everlast is the most trusted brand in boxing history. established in 1910 they are a quality company that specializes in boxing equipment. take it from an owner of an everlast heavy bag they are great and very durable and can withstand lots of punishment. great for any teen, young male or old tymer tryin to get his groove back.

  2. I've done some amateur boxing way back in my late teens and early twenties. I have punched a lot of bags in those years, I'll say that this product is of excellent quality and will last longer now that I'm a bit older and don't have that pack of punch anymore.

  3. I've returned two of these bags. Both came in boxes that were previously opened (the original Everlast tape was cut open and retaped with clear packing tape.) The bags were not packed consistantly. Most importantly, what feels like sandbags were placed randomly just under the Nevatear cover. Great cover! However, a few hard punches into packed rags and then a sudden hard shot into sand is unsafe. I'm sure they make a good product, but I'm having a hard time getting one. Gotta move on.

  4. I bought this heavy bag and gloves for the whole family (even the 4 year-old) and we have loved it.
It is easy to get carried away with hitting it and you have to be very careful to maintain proper form (learn that first) so you can stay healthy and injury-free.
This bag is great quality at a great price. It will take your abuse as long as you take care to protect yourself. It's far more likely to hurt you than you are it. Don't hit it without gloves because it's going to injure you if you do.
Hitting this bag is a quick way to burn off a lot of stress and energy. It will surely outlast you in every workout no matter how much endurance you have.

  5. This bag has been very durable. I don't use it every day. Just on days between going to the gym. It gets use 2-3 days per week. The only problem I had was that it was pretty hard in a few areas. I went to a sporting goods store and they had one hanging up and it was much softer. The guy told me (off the record) that they had went against manufacturer's recommendations and unzipped the top and removed some of the filler. I did the same at home with mine and then rolled it around the floor to more evenly distribute the filler and it is much better now.

  1. An excellent product for the price!! Quite functional and also good looking. I use it to polish my swords every time I do some tameshigiri and the entire kit works flawlessly. A great buy!!

  2. Super fast shipping. Kit was nicer than pictured, oil in clay vase, lint free cloth instead of rice paper, and a set of replacement mekugi pegs. As well, a brass hammer and wooden driver pin for removeing pegs, and 2" powder ball all in a well marked wooden display box without splinters. Overall very nice for the money. I would highly recommend this kit to anyone in need of a quality sword cleaning kit! Thanks, Mike

  3. I have no complaints about this sword cleaning kit, and found it had everything I need to clean my katana.

  4. You get what you pay for, and ultimately this is exactly in that category. The kit is functional, though perhaps a bit lacking if you want something truly professional.

However, that's as bad as it gets - I was looking for something to keep a few replica pieces oiled and in shape. This does a fine job. It's cheap and easy, and has everything you need to take care of a display blade.

  5. This was so sweet!! it helps clean swords so good, only problem is the box is a little week a piece of wood already broke off...but i dont really care that much cause it helps so much!! thanks =D

5 comments about Kendo Shinai Traditional Japanese Bamboo Practice Sword SET.
  1. Out of all the shinai I have seen, these are pretty good. The leather at the tip could be a bit tighter I think. Thats its only downfall. It still holds together pretty well none the less. Also, for the price I would suggest getting these.

  2. picture shows 2 swords, only recieved 1, clever use of "SET". purchased 4 total and was charged for shipping twice, have yet to recieve 3 others.

  3. My wife and I have used these swords quite a bit already, and we've had no problems with them. Very sturdy and fun to use. Great Product.

  4. The Kendo swords arrived just as promised. I was able to spar numerous times with friends of mine. But during a fairly tough match one of them snapped at the top and it became pretty much useless. But it was totally worth it. I will be ordering another set. Though i wish they were stronger.

  5. I bought these as a quick, cheap replacement for my last shinai, thinking that even if they were not excellent at least I'd have a spare. The parts that are traditionally leather (sakigawa, tsuka, and nakayuki) are made of a cheap, dry foam that disintegrates on contact (literally - my shirt was covered in foam particles when I unwrapped them). The bamboo is of the lowest quality, and looks like it will splinter at the lightest suggestion of contact; one reviewer has experienced quick breakage already. If the bamboo takes oil well I may rewrap them and use them as long as I can, but there is nothing to recommend these shinai.
