5 comments about Batman 3 Knife Set- New With Pouch-Batarang.
  1. These batarangs are very sharp. They look pretty sweet on my utility belt, and most people think the pouch is just a change purse.

My complaint is that these batarangs do not return to my hand after I throw them at someone. These are not the same as Batman's batarangs. Batman could throw this at a criminal, injure them, and it would return. Everytime I throw one at my neighbor's dog, the batarang get's lodged inside the dog, and it runs away. I have already lost 5 of these this way.

Only buy this if you don't mind losing one of these everytime you try to fight crime.

  2. When I first opened up my package of 3 batarangs, I was very happy. They look great, and are obviously authentic. I am surprised Batman let these go into production as you would think he would want to keep the weapon for his own use, however I suspect that he left out one key piece when manufacturing these batarangs because they do not achieve the same effect as when Batman himself uses them. Likely because he would prefer that his potential adversaries do not get ahold of said technology. They are very sharp, perhaps too sharp because when I throw them at my enemies it simply kills them. I want the Batarangs that Batman uses, because I would prefer to knock out my enemies for approximately 1 hour but otherwise leave them completely unharmed. When I tried to utilize these batarangs on several occasions I was slightly upset to discover I had fatally decapitated 2 henchmen and injured 1 villain irreparably, severely damaging his spinal cord. The batarangs were however easily recoverable and did not dull, so that's a plus. overall, I would recommend this purchase.

  3. these bat-man knifes set is very good and perfect for throwing it at stuff woos is better to do it on steel not so much and if u throw it to hard at something it will bent up but not to worrie just get a hammer and it goes back to the way u had it

  4. I just got these batarang throwing knives in the mail and tested them out by throwing them at a wood fence. Each one bounced off and I was getting less and less impressed by the second. I check out the supposedly sharp edges and they are pretty dull. You canrub your finger on an edge and you won't get cut. After trying the trowing again, I noticed that the paint was getting scuffed and is falling off. They are pretty, but that only merits it a 3 star rating.

EDIT. after throwing these at a box, they stuck pretty well but I missed one and hit the fence behind it. and it bent the batarang very badly. Would advise against buying.

  5. When you first get them, they are for better lack of terms, bad ass. Mine weren't that sharp, i could easily apply a decent amount of force on the blade with my fingers with out it hurting let alone cutting me. After throwing for a while, one didn't stick and feel about 4 feet on to tile flooring and bent the corner of the wing. I was easily able to bend it back with my finger. I plan on sharpening these, which should prove them to be even cooler. But for the price i would buy these over and over again.

  1. This is the second pair of this brand of shoes that I've purchased from Amazon. They're cheap, comfortable, breathable, and under fairly constant use they seem to last anywhere from 6-8 months. There may be better stuff out there, but let's face it, martial arts shoes are only going to last you so long no matter how much money you put into them. For my money, better to get something that's a great deal of durability for the price. I'll continue ordering these once or twice a year for as long as I practice. I've even got a seperate pair for hanging out and walking around. Avoiding the rain, they're doing just fine after 2 years.

  2. Super fast shipping. Great communication and packaging. Recommend to all martial arts shoppers. The Fei Yue's were for my brother and he loves them as they fit perfectly to his feet. The white seems to become a bit dirty soon, but a turn in the washer and its fixed.

  3. I wear these shoes casually, not for for training but I absolutely love them. They have a very classic look, go with everything, & are the most comfortable shoes I own. Plus you can't beat the price. Thanks, China!

  4. I have a black pair, and a white pair of these shoes. I really like how comfortable they are and the price is fantastic! Found out about them on the website, Living Barefoot. The guy reviewed them and he really liked them too for minimalist footwear.
I have always worn moccasins because of the minimalist feel, but on rainy days these shoes work much better.

  5. These shoes are all that yo might think they are and more. Excelent for walking or doing martial arts of any kind.
I use them for Capoeira, so far I have bought two pairs for myself a pair for a friend and two more people will be getting them, excelent quality inside and out.

Outise they are durable yet not stiff, the best part for me is the rubber covered toes, its great as the shoes will not pop open between as with many other big brand names shoes I have used for capoeira.

Inside they are soft and confortable, the inner sole is very well attached so that it will not come loose as it has happened to me with other shoes.

Overall these shoes are great for whatever it is that you might want them for.

  1. Nice and sturdy and great for a good workout if you're into the traditional forms. They kinda hurt to get with but, that's what the pads are for. Excellent!

  2. Two shinais for the price of one. These are very light, but they seem to be just as durable as my heavier ones. My 12 year old son prefers them over my heavier more expensive models. The finish is less shiny and I wonder whether they would suffer if they got wet.

  3. Right out of the box my daughter and I started playing around with these in the living room, not really going at it very hard and about 3 minutes into our light playing my daughter came at me with a swipe that broke the Shinai I was using clean in half. We just stared at each other for about 10 seconds. All I could do was assure her that she hadn't done anything wrong. Amazon was Excellent on the UPS pickup and return credit.

I have used bamboo fighting sticks for years and I didn't think it could break like that. I have to assume these are made of some kind of bamboo substitute. Obviously, I wouldn't recommend.

  4. Ok to start off, if this thing didn't come in as a set it would have been such a ripoff. Not only does it does it not give you tsubas (hand guards), it also falsely advertises them as being 47". What you get are two cheaply made 42" ones. When these things break, and I'm sure it will be soon, I'm definitely not buying these again.

  5. Bought these cheap for a sparring match, first good practice swing (not connecting to anything) and the thing breaks right at the handle ><. didnt even get one match outa it

  1. Obviously not the best, but for the price it does the job. I just got mine so Im not sure how long it will last. It looks cheaply made but still I think you can get a lot of use out of it, if you're not a serious boxer. Adjusts well to fit, and protects the face.

  2. These take abit of the sting out of punches but you can still tell when you are hit. For the money i think they are great.

  3. Great headgear for what you pay (especially when they are on sale). These will work for beginners, and for more advanced boxers who want to spar half-speed. I would not let anyone wear these who was going to take serious punches. Imagine an inch of thick-cell foam, and that is what you get. Velcro neck strap and velcro circumference adjuster ensure a tight fit.

  4. First of all, I bought this headgear because of it's price. At less than $25, it's a good deal for training/light sparring head protection.

My problem with the headgear is that it's on the small-ish side for my head. Though this headgear comes in an "Adult" size, I still had a hard time putting it on (I assumed it was a one size fits all); the design itself is not very intelligent either.

First of all, on the back, there is an adjustable strap coming from the top middle down to the back of the head but the straps coming from the front and sides are not adjustable, rendering the whole point of the back adjustable strap useless - in simpler terms, you cannot adjust the height at all defeating the purpose of the strap in the first place. As I could not strap close the bottom velcro, I cut off the top straps entirely. This does not seem to cause any problems in terms of vulnerability or protection as the straps itself does not do much and the headgear is already snug with no fear of getting loose.

Secondly, I could not fit the headgear because of the thick cushioning that i cut off the back cushion. Because it is attached via two straps, I figured I can always sew them back on but it would have been nice to be able to velcro them on and off. Of course that makes the back of your head vulnerable but I figured I won't be hit from behind so it's a compromise. The elastic band on the back is also very tight and not very elastic at all. Eventually I plan to find another elastic band to sew on and sew on the back cushion as well

Overall, it's a cheap sturdy protection for your head. If it fits perfectly, then it's a great deal for you but for the fellas with larger head sizes, it would have been great if this headgear was more adjustable/elastic. If you could, I would recommend checking out a sporting goods store first and trying it on.

  5. Got this for sparring/playing around with my friends. Definitely heavy feeling and would probably absorb some headshots pretty decently.

  1. Great for if you want to just hang this in the inside strap of you gym bag so it does not get lost in all the stuff in there.

  2. this product is very good. i did not know it had a whole in the botton for the mouth guard strap. my mouth guard has no strap so this is kind of pointless since dirt can still get in when in my bag. i put some tape over it and it works just fine. other than the whole the product is very good.

  3. Pretty comfortable to transport any mouthguard, while keeping it clean and aerated, so you don't have to worry much that it may stink.

  4. Love the fact you can attach this case to your gym bag strap, this is the main reason I bought it. I had a regular case but it was always a pain to be feeling around my gym bag trough all my MMA/BJJ gear to find my mouthguard.
I like the fact it has a vent so it gives the mouthguard a chance to dry after you store it.

  5. I would say that this case does what it is supposed to do - it keeps your guard clean and gives plenty of ventilation. However, I docked it a star because the plastic seems a bit cheap. Not bad for the price though (I only paid $6).

5 comments about Single 40" Hardwood Datio Bokken Kendo Practice Sword.
  1. This bokken has a good feel to it but it's much lighter than the other one that I bought Single 40" Dragon Datio Bokken Kendo Practice Sword.

The guard is nice, but it's not like the one pictured, it is a simple rubber band type that does not extend outwards on to the guard as shown. Also, the color on the one I received is much different. It is darker, like a wooden desk with varnish, but I still like it. Maybe it's just the seller, who knows: [...]

Here are the dimensions, the hilt is 10" (0.25" more than the Dragon bokken), and the blade is 28" (1" less than the Dragon bokken), with an overall length of 38.25" (Dragon bokken is 39", an inch shorter than the advertised length).

  2. The Bokken arrived well protected and is intact. It feels solid and has a good weight its definitely good for practice I haven't hit anything, neither do I intend to so for impact resistance I can only say it looks like it can take some beating. Blade is 29.5" in length.

  3. I bought three of these over the weekend. I have to say that this is the best use of my money in my life. I have been using and beating this sword all day and the only damages are small dents. This s the best bokken I have ever had. I was beating this thing as hard as I could and it still won't break. The only complaint I have is that the guard is not black and it tends to slide up the sword when you spar. This sword is excellent for sparring...I don't know what these people where talking about when they said it wasn't a sparring sword.
I recommend anyone to buy this bokken.

  4. I dont practice Kendo or any martial art. I bought this sword to swing around my house and poke my sister. Its great cuz it looks scary and my sister can't kick me back. I swing this around my neighborhood and bring it on my walks to Micky Ds and Jack in the crack. Neighborhood kids loves my sword and always want to sword fight me with their plastic swords (I always win ofcourse cuz my sword is wooden and awesome). Im a professional photographer by day and so sometimes i bring this to my model shoots and wack my models if they don't behave, again it works great because it looks scary and they cant kick me back.

I would recommend this sword to everybody. Im buying my grandma one of these to replace her walking stick.

  5. For me, the most distinct feature of this bokken is that it smells! Once the plastic wrapping came off, I got a whiff of the strong smell that seems to be all over this sword, but mostly on the cord wrapped portion. It smells like fake incense...and it was annoying enough to stink up my closet in a few hours. So beware!

As for the bokken itself, it probably isn't strong enough for dueling, but you can probably wack someone with it a couple times. I bought four, so I will say that the wood stain is not equal on all of them; some are darker than others. Some do have imperfections in the wood as well, but for $10 you can't really argue.

    3.5/5

  1. Love them. They are comfy, the size is good for females, and the material is a good quality.

  2. I use MMA gloves & these wraps really help alleviate the knuckle scrapes & cuts I was getting.
It's alot of wrapping but once you get the hang of it they're great not to mention the touch of feminine color with pink was nice since my gloves are black.

  3. I already own handwraps in BLUE, Yellow, Red and Black. I just wanted Pink to add to my collection. they work as well as all the other colors. the order was super quick and easy! thank you!

  4. To whome it may concern,

I never recieved my order that I placed for the everlast hand wraps. I'm not sure what to do about this, or who to complain to. My account was definitely charged, and i have no product to show for it. Please advise.

    sincerely,

  1. I purchased this to give me confidence when I am out by myself. It fits nicely in my hand and is made of sturdy metal. I would recommend.

  2. This tool makes a very effective weapon that can be used in a number of ways. It doesn't seem like a good thing to have dangling on your keychain all the time though, since it's rather large and weighty for a keychain attachment. It can be carried around in your pocket easily and discreetly and isn't very obviously a weapon, so it still is a great carry-around-in-public self-defense tool.

  3. I bought this for my mom to keep in her purse, but for fun I thought I'd try it out. It barely squeezed over my big fingers, cut off circulation to my middle finger, and was really hard to get off. Don't buy this if you have large hands/fingers. But for a lady, or a man with small or medium sized hands/fingers, buy away! Looks like it would be really painful, especially if you hit them in the face with it. And I don't think anyone would immediately think of it as a weapon on first glance, so it's somewhat concealable.

  4. Got this for my mom so she could feel a little better about walking through the parking garage at night, good price, good little key chain. I would NOT want to be hit with this...it could f*** someone's face or groin up for good.

  5. This is designed to be a tool with an important defense purpose.
It can not perform that function because the cat's eyes are too small to fit an adult woman.

    (got it for my wife)

I have "medium" sized hands, and can't get past my 2nd nuckle.

This might fit a young teen, or petite woman.

    I hope they re-design this a bit.
It is otherwise well made, and would probably stand up to intended use.

It's a good idea to have it look like a cat, because sadly, law abiding citizens are not permitted to defend themselves in many states these days.

5 comments about 26" Telescopic Steel Baton.
  1. It's heavy. It could do damage to people, property, self, so be careful. Good bang for the buck.

  2. I'll start off by saying that I can't see what this baton can not do that ones costing 70 or 80 bucks can do. Lets look at some basics: Does it open like it's supposed to? Yep, swing it around quick and suddenly you have a 26" steel defense weapon. Will it hurt if you strike someone (lawfully) with it? You bet it will! Let me say this, I don't want to be the one getting hit with it!
Now for some specifics. Yes, the rubber grip gives off a horrible odor that in itself should ward off evil doers. The grip gives off such a stink I can't stand to have it in the same room with me, but that's beside the point.
Next; it will take some breaking in time to get it to the point where you don't have to swing it as hard to get it to expand, or beat the daylights out of it to collapse it. If you approach it correctly and consider all the parts are new and need to be "seated" and worn a bit to operate smoothly you will end up with a nicely working unit. Granted some folks don't have the patience to sit and fiddle with something that long, but I have 10 hours a night at work in which to do little else but.
I deducted 1/2 a star for the case it come with, it's not the handiest item. I do not like the velcro loop at the top as it holds it securely, but does not allow for a quick one grab draw. If you fasten it loosely enough for that, then it's likely to fall out at some point. I deducted the other 1/2 star for the grip. It does have a diamond checkered pattern on it however if your hands are sweaty in the least and you don't have a gorilla grip on the thing it is likely it could go flying off into the wild blue the first time you use it under pressure. I will be wrapping mine with sports grip tape in lieu of a nice foam grip that probably wouldn't give off a noxious smell either.
Bottom line: It will do what it's supposed to provided you spend some time and familiarize yourself with it. Don't write it off because it opens hard right out of the box and takes some CAREFUL beating to close at first. It will break in. Consider what it cost, and the fact that it is very sturdy steel which when deployed (lawfully) will do what it's intended to do and that is cause pain compliance. I don't know what a baton costing 7 or 8 times more will do any differently, and I'm sure the guy on the receiving end won't know the difference either.
(credentials: Former NYS Correctional officer, weapons trained including firearms, chemical and baton. Former VT state correctional officer, CERT trained incl PR-24. Current NYS armed guard license holder.)

  3. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of the quality of this baton but I figured the price was right and it was worth a shot. I once had an ASP baton but it was stolen many years ago. I remember it well though. This baton really impresses me. It seems every bit as good as the ASP baton that I remember, only the grip is better on this one. I have a lot of wild predators in my area and I have no doubt that if a coyote or vicious dog came at my little girl there would be 26" of steel in the animals way in a hurry. Remember Call Of The Wild? Even a wolf is no match for a man with one of these. I had a vicious dog come at my little girl as I was walking with her on my own driveway. Fortunately a big stick was handy at the time and I was able to quickly pin the dogs head to the ground with it. I didn't need to hit it. Pushing its head to the ground did the job with no real injury to the dog. If it remained vicious then it would need some more drastic action. After that experience I worried about a time when a stick wouldn't be handy so I bought this. It is big in a pocket, 9 1/2 inches to be exact. It is heavy, but that is the point. It will collapse best if you bring it strait down vertically onto a welcome mat or something similar over concrete, stone or asphalt. You won't scratch it that way. Just check the laws in your area for where you can have or carry it.

  4. The baton is about 10 inches in its shortest state which makes it difficult to conceal, especially considering that in most states it is illegal to carry a baton such as this (I live in Texas where it is illegal to carry these batons on your person or in your car). I took off a star because the company did not state the length of the baton when I looked at the product specs, and I expected it to be something that could easily fit in my pocket. Of course this isn't the case at about 10inches and about an inch wide the only way to conceal it is if you have on baggy clothes. Others have stated that it is difficult to retract, and it is. You won't be able to retract it with your bare hands and I wouldn't recommend it either, if you try you will more than likely hurt your hand or pinch your palm attempting to retract it. It states on the instructions that you need to vertically slam the baton down on a hard surface at a 90 degree angle. Now this may sound like it would damage the baton, but just don't be an idiot and slam it down on concrete or marble or linoleum, and you'll be okay. I usually just slam into my carpet floor or onto the ground where there's grass or dirt, and if there's no carpet around if you hit it hard enough with the hardest surface of your palm it might hurt a little but it gets the job done. The baton itself is quite nice, I would imagine it could take quite a beating it seems sturdily built but the black paint chips a little easy but as long as your not abusing the baton it will maintain its black coating. The baton itself comes with a black holster and a foam grip. I am glad that the grip itself has a good foam grip and is tight against the baton handle. I think 26" is just the right length also I think anything shorter and you have would have to really get close to your attacker, you have to keep in mind that if the grip is 10 inches long retracted, its only 6", 11" or 16" extracted in length, so if you think about it you're only getting 16 inches to use, depending on where you grip the baton. All in all this is a great baton at a really good price, I checked my local Army Surplus store and noticed they had batons that were very similar to this baton but at more than double the price and were only about 21" extended. Also, something worth noting, I ordered this product and wasn't supposed to receive it for about 10 days but was pleasantly surprised to receive within 3 days.

  5. This is a great defense weapon. You can't fully understand how powerful this baton is until you extend it and feel how strong and powerful the steel is. A light tap on your hand will bring a slight sting. To get a feel for it, I have extended it about 10 times or so. The first few times you open it and then strike the ground to close it, there is no problems. Eventually the first section will start to get stuck. After I oiled it with WD-40, it now closes but with a little more force and 2 strikes at the ground. But other than that, it is a great weapon. I would recommend it to anyone.

5 comments about Gil Hibben Hall of Fame Thrower Set, Leather Sheath.
  1. My 16 year old son loves these knives. Their shape gives them good balance and either end will stick into your target. The sheath is cheap leather and is virtually useless. The knives are solidly made from relatively soft steel (so the won't break). All thing considered, I'm happy with the value for the money spent.

  2. I ordered these because the tip of my old throwing knife (Muela) snapped off. I use the quarter spin or no-spin technique, which, favored the Muela because it was 11 inches long or so and had a heavy blade.

These knives are around 8 inches and are shaped like a propeller. The handle is about the length of my forefinger - so I had some difficulty in using the no-spin method. I still use no-spin with these knives but I have trouble in longer distances.

If you're using the spin technique, you would be right at home with these knives. They seem to be designed for that purpose. Durability-wise, these seem solid enough. I have a wooden target and sometimes I get a bad hit where the knife bounces off and lands on concrete tip-first and they're still ok.

However, one of the knives was about .5-1 cm shorter than the other two. Not really a big deal, but that means their quality control may not be 100% spot on, so, just keep your eyes open for other defects.

  3. I recently purchased these knives to just try them out. The worked really well and I was able to consistently hit the center target much better with these than my other hibben knives. There is a technique involved with throwing them, as with any other knife, you have to find the "sweet spot".
As I said before, they are quite accurate when it comes to the target accuracy. However they do not penetrate quite as deeply as my heavier knives, which are the same length, they just weigh more.
I've found that they suit me throwing from 22/25 feet(blade throw). I also throw with alot of spin with all my knives, and the spin technique seems to work well with them.
All in all they are a good set of knives, but they did dull quite easily.

  4. This is a pretty good set of throwing knives, they're well weighted and somewhat soft but they don't get nicks and scratches easily. Being stainless steel these are very easy to clean with some stainless steel cleaner and the fun part about these is how well they can stick with the handle or the blade. Good buy, nice looking blades as well.

  5. These knives are great, they're sturdy and perfectly balanced, perfect for spin throwing. The price is unmatched and the sheath isn't as cheap as a review said it was and I'm very happy with it. I was looking at cold steel throwers, but you will get only one knife for the price of these three, and cold steel won't include a sheath! These knives are perfect for beginners, and I'd recommend these knives to anyone. They are great fun, and are well worth the money.
