  1. I bought both a gold and red sword tassel. My practice wooded sword didn't come with a tassel and I wanted to get used to the idea of something dangling from it while practicing. The tassels are of very good quality for its intended use and the price is excellent - can't be beat. The other tassel I'll use as a backup tassel to replace the one I have on my competition sword when needed. Meanwhile, it's a decorative piece on my wall. Good product. Good price.

2 comments about Iron Baoding Balls.
  1. Delivery time was as expected. The product was well packed. I am thinking of purchasing more exercise ball. However, none of the cases closed properly. I was really disappointed with the quality of the cases. Please improve on the cases and I think you will have one of the best products on the market.

  2. This is a good product, the selling company is better. It's obviously an importer and while the quality of the balls is first rate, the quality of the boxes varies a bit, but it's not very important. I know. I've gotten several sets from the same seller.

I ordered several sets of these together before Christmas and a mistake was made in the order. I won't go into a lot of detail, but I notified the seller, the Martial Arts Store, and got an immediate response that made the situation right without any wasted BS. It's the kind of store you want to do business with. There are all sorts of merchants on Amazon. This one is a five star merchant. Frankly, I'd upgrade the rating on this product to five stars, but it won't go through on an edit.

I have sets of these in different sizes and finishes. The balls normally nest in a box, not expensive, but nicely fitted with a classic Chinese design and closed with slip in pegs or pegs combined with a couple of small loops in front. People ask about the odd collection of boxes and it gives me a chance to tell them about the balls.

Putting the box aside, this is a good product. Looks good, well-finished and the right weight for me. Looking good isn't everything. I have some very pretty Cloisonne balls and was a bit distrusting of those who like the look, but not the feel. The Baoding Iron Balls come in two sizes, large and medium. Both look like they've chromed, but in any event have a very smooth finish.

The larger balls are the size of a pool ball, but lighter. The Mediums is a quarter of an inch smaller. That may not sound like much, but it is. Unless you have really large hands start with the medium size. If you have small hands, look for a pair in small. Typically, you'll develop the ability to handle the larger balls more easily. I started with a set the size and weight of pool cues (including color) and became fairly adept at handling them. I then moved to smaller balls in different, generally lighter weights.

Why use them? First you don't have to have any huge belief in the non-traditional medicine or acupuncture.

I'm arthritic in both hands with other problems. Using the ball increases manual dexterity, helps me deal with a chronic numbness in several fingers and helps exercise my forearms. I don't do it to relieve boredom. Instead I sometimes keep a set in each hand and rotate them in different directions, the same direction, etc. The heaviest balls help me build enough strenth to open a screw top bottom, something I couldn't do for a long while. Using the smaller ones help me be dextrous enough to do some fine mechanical work, akin to watch making.

I've had a set of these for a long time, but became serious about this after discussing them with a high level string musician who uses wooden sets to keep his fingers nimble, yet strong. AT 70, he still playes hisinstrument as though he were 20.

These may not do anything for you, but give it a month and see.
