4 comments about Foam Escrima.
  1. Well padded, cheap, and fun. Good times! The gold dragon icon actually adds to the look (I thought it would be cheesy).

  2. Item is as described, arrived in time stated.
Excellent substitute for toy swords for your children. Don't waste your money on toy swords-they don't hold up and they are expensive. Also, this item is alot safer than a toy sword since it is padded.
Excellent practice Escrima as well, don't know how it will hold up over time yet but it seems to be well constructed.
There was no dragon on the one I received but that wasn't a big deal.

  3. I bought two of these to use at home for striking practice on my heavybag, and they're great for that. The end caps come off easily, so I just left them off. And the foam covering tends to move around from use, but easily move back into place. They take a lot of abuse and the core is firm enough to let me strike a hard as I like, without tearing up my heavybag.

  4. Like others have said, these are good for light practice. They have a decent weight and feel. The caps do tend to come off, and the foam does move around a lot. The foam also breaks and cracks. I used these for about 2 weeks and had one break in 3 during sparing. Going full speed they do pack a punch. The beauty is that you can spar with no gear on, just watch the fingers.

3 comments about Ninja High Top Tabi Boot.
  1. The boot in the picture has the grooves which pretty much define the Tabi boot, allowing wall climbing manuevers and such. The boot I received had a flat bottom and gave almost no grip. Tennis shoes work better.

  2. If your new to ninjutsu or Bujinkan, and want a pair of tabi then stay away from these cheap knock offs. Go do a search on ebay or google for jikatabi. The Jikatabi are authentic, and won't fall apart after an hour of training. Hope I gave some good advice!
    Happy training

  3. Something I would need to say about these boots is that ive never had troubles with them, and my fellow trainees own the same boots from the same seller,we do alot of rough training through bad weather up steep slopes training to climb walls and roughhousing in the snow(very cold on the footsies lol)and never not even once has a tabi boot busted a seem or come undone. The fabric used to make these boots is very durable and I fell istantly in love with the velcro closure,We ordered six pairs total and not once did we have problems with them and still havent.

The reviews below me are quite unfair, their isn any evidence that the reviwer below me owns a pair of these boots,it only sounds to me like he has a pair of boots from a different comapany,he is happy with them and considers all others crap, kind of like ford truck drivers vs. another vehicle.and the review further down was as far as im concerned a complete factory mishap and should have e-mailed the seller before posting,The way he did it was very childish in my opinion.

And a small comment on the jikatabi that sam suggested in his review, the jikatabi are great only if you prepared to spend upward of about fifty dollars plus,it is true that ninja boots of any kind dont seem to be that cheap but the jikatabi are just too expensive for training that most of us probably wont actualy use so,I mean how many of us are going to scale a wall everyday.

    PS.
We have had these boots for well over half a year we havent had to replace a pair yet,i think thats tetament enought their quality AND the quality of the reviews below me.

5 comments about Everlast 14-oz. Pro Style Boxing Gloves- Black.
  1. I im new to boxing and dind know the weight that i should buy for my training globes, I recommend this 16oz, they are heavy enough.
They fit well, solid and look nice.

  2. My initial impression of these gloves was a bad one: they absolutely reek of some sort of organic solvent used during the manufacturing process. It is difficult to hold these chemical-laden gloves up to my face when I'm breathing heavy during training; the smell makes me want to vomit. After a few weeks, the smell becomes tolerable. However, it almost makes me want to pay extra for leather gloves.

The gloves are well-made, I have no complaints about the fit or finish. The thumbs are comfortable and both sides feel the same. The cuffs are comfortable, with no sharp edges or other annoyances. The velcro is sewn on straight and is easy to use. The thumbs are attached, but can be easily freed up if desired. If you just use them for hitting the heavy bag, you're better off snipping the attachment; it will make it easier to grab the velcro and tighten it up. After making gloves for decades, I suppose Everlast has it down to a science.

These gloves are hard. I wouldn't want to get hit by them. If you want to spar someone, they won't appreciate it if you wearing these gloves. But the gloves feel good on my fists. I can really go berzerk on the hardest part of my heavybag without feeling any discomfort in my knuckles.

I'm not sure why Everlast claims that the gloves have an "anti-microbial" lining. As far as I can tell, it's just polyester. In any event, it works fine.

Some other reviewers have complained that these gloves fit too snug. I didn't find this to be a problem. When my hands are wrapped, they fit into the gloves snugly, but the fit is proper. If you have fat, untrained hands, or if you are a large-boned heavyweight, you might experience a tight fit. For most people, the gloves are as they should be.

For the money, these gloves are fine.

  3. I thought that these gloves were really cool because they are easy to put on when you have the other one on, i like the rist rap as well, not a whole lot of padding though

  4. For $26 (what I paid) you can't beat these bag gloves with a stick. Sure, if you are a professional boxer and are planning on using your bag glove HOURS A DAY then spending a lot more on gloves made for professionals would make sense. I've used these a few hours a week ever since I got them and they are holding up just fine and are very comfortable and easy to put on and take off.

  5. Bought these gloves. I am 5'11" with medium sized hands. When I first put them on they were so incredibly tight that I was considering returning them. They have stretched and fit perfect even with wraps underneath. Good buy

  1. I've always had trouble finding a mouthguard that would form and fit my mouth well when fighting. I've gone through dozens of cheapo mouthguards and don't have the money to get a custom made mouthguard, so I finally decided to pick up a shock doctor and I have to say I'm very pleased with the product. The guard has this blue gel which when boiled becomes very soft and molds to your teeth during the forming process for an extra tight fitting. Of all the mouthguards I've ever used, this is the best I've ever used.

  2. This one is good, but for fit and protection I prefer the cheaper (yet better) version called "Shock Doctor Gel Max Mouth Guard"

5 comments about Rikio Lace Up Jikatabi (Outdoor Tabi).
  1. This lace up tabi has proven to be much more sturdy than any others we've found. My husband loves them. They fit well and are much more dependable outside.

  2. Tabi fit form to your foot. Sole is more durable than other tabi but not as durable as an athletic shoe sole. The best thing about the sole are their soft of stealthing is really easy.

Only thing I wish was better: They came in 1/2 sizes, and the laces are a bit too long.

  3. I love these shoes. I wear a 5 and 1/2 in womens. I usually wear converse shoes and these remind me of them. They fit like a glove, perfect! I can't stand flip flops and I have no problem with the split toes. I'm going to order a back up pair and get the calf boots by the same company. I also ordered these right around Christmas and I got them really quick. I recommend these shoes and company 100%!!!! Doomo!

  4. Great shoes. Perfect for outdoor training. Kind of like Converse all-Stars with split toes.

  5. I haven't had these for very long but I can certainly tell a quality shoe when I see it. Although the sole is sturdy it is quite flexible as well. The shoe itself is just like the Converse canvas, and it hugs my feet so well. These shoes (though they may not look like it) are actually very light. Let me also say that the service I received from Ippon was top notch. The shoes actually came about 4 days early than expected (the earlier the better, right?). I have had a great experience with this shoe and I know you will too!

  1. Even though the sword is very light when compared to an actual Tai-Chi sword, it is very easy to handle. It's portability is a plus and it has a great look to it. For a good practice sword I would highly recommend giving this one a try.

  2. This sword is well balanced and easy to use and carry. It comes with a pouch to store and carry it in. It appears to be well made, Time and use will tell. When expanded it is rigid with no slop in it. While practicing the form you are not aware that it is a collapsible sword.

5 comments about SlamMan Aerobic Boxing Training System.
  1. I have really enjoyed the Slam Man. When I am working out on it I am having fun and 20 minutes flies buy. I haven't got past 20 minutes yet because its exhausting. Great hand/eye coordination. You can go as slow or as fast as you want. The only pain was filling the Slam Man with sand (lots of it). Otherwise I would recommend this product.

  2. I bought the slam man a year ago and am so glad that I did. I luv working out with the slam man. You get a great workout that is also fun and very challenging. Just fill it with sand and it is ready to go. (Make sure that you have the vacuum out when you are filling it with sand, which is to be expected.)

  3. This is one of my new favorite workouts. I actually keep him in my office and my co-workers come in from time to time to let off some steam. I don't like the gloves included and highly recommend getting a pair of "Power Weighted Super Bag Gloves" for a really intense upperbody workout.

  4. I've purchased two of these and both wore out in less than 6 months each. The first time I purchased slam man was back in 1997 when Sugar ray Leonard did the infomercial. The second time was in 2000. It was the only toroso that simulated a human-like form. Century B.O.B wasn't available during that time. Slam man stands 5 feet and can be adjust as height as 6 feet. Hitting the face (nose area) with 10-14oz gloves can wear it down especially when throwing uppercuts. The nose area begins to break apart until the entire foam on face falls and your'e left with hard black plastic and LED eyes. The electronic LED lights on the face and body are useless. They beep and flash for you to hit them but they don't measure or count your punches. The body part of the slam is the most durable part. I've thrown some power hooks to the body without a tear. The more you fill it with sand or water, the harder it is to move back obviously. The advantage to this is anyone at any weight can fill it accordingly to the weight of their punch. If you're really a heavy hitter and wiegh 190lb+ you can fill it sand and begin unleashing power shots without moving it much. The face and body is stiff so if you add more weight, it it may feel like you're punching a pole instead of dummy because of its stiffness. I burned calories and found myself addictive to hitting this thing for two reasons:

1)It can take some nice body shots
2)It doesn't hit back (like a sparring partner)

I would have given it Five Stars if the foam on face didn't rip apart TWICE.

  5. After reading the reviews I knew it I would fill it with water......No problems there. I also put and old sparing helmet on it's head and I have viciously attacked this slamman for the last year with explosive workouts.

Its still like the ay I bought it
