1. The sword is beautiful and a great replica. It fits nicely into the scabbard and is easily drawn. The only downside may be a result of the shipping as bottom of the sheath is chipped.

1. Good heavy blade. No scratches or marks anywhere with nice hamon and good appearing handle. The wood scabbard appears to be coated with a layer of something (fiberglass?) which might give better durability and protection in the long run. Finish overall is good with a blood groove. A good buy for the price.

2. I believe this is a good buy and I love how it is meant for a replica. If you're into this kind of thing and like history, read up about it and buy it yourself. I was worried however when I got it, the first thing I noticed was the coated handle. I freaked because I thought it wasn't full tang (fiberglass coated handle + wood rivets = ??). Looks great atop any living room furniture!



3. If you're new to buying swords then I can relate to what you're probably going through. I have read reviews, ignoring all but the ones I thought written by seasoned veterans in the trade.
   
   However, I was impressed with the product that I felt compelled to express my satisfaction albeit my inexperience.
   
   1. First and foremost the weight of the sword is quite heavy. I have been practicing with heavy wood but this is quite different. The balance is something I have to get used to but it is not awkward in any way.
   
   2. The blade is also sharp. The caps lock you saw was definitely an understatement. More like "razor sharp". Even though it was the first time I wielded a sharp metal sword, after less than five slices, I managed to "cleanly" cut a paper in half.
   
   3. I am forced to use this for practice since its seller was the only one willing to ship to my location but I have no regrets. Though I haven't had the guts to take the handle apart, it is quite evident from the way the sword handled that this is full tang. You can feel the stability as you hear the sound of the blade "cutting through the air".
   
   My conclusion:
   For collectors, this is definitely a good buy.
   
   For practice though, it is perfect. However the razor sharp edge is something you must seriously consider before swinging this thing around. Like, you can easily cut your ear off if you fool around with the jigen ryu "dragonfly" stance.
