  1. This product is not world class but is well worth the money. It provides a balanced work out for a kick boxer. Compared to other punching bags and stands, it has a wider and softer striking surface. I've only had it for a few months but it has withstood punishment without becoming warped. I recommend filling the base with sand instead of water.

  2. I've just recently bought this bag and it seems very durable, for now. I get a great workout punching the bag. I will write another review in a couple of months after it has had some good use, just to see how long it has lasted. My only gripe is that Amazon is selling another one for cheaper than what I paid for this one.

  3. I've had my freestanding bag for about 3 or 4 weeks now and I absolutely love it! You can punch, kick, and elbow this thing until you're out of breath. I put 250lbs of sand in the base and it is very sturdy (cheap too - sand is only about $4 per 50lb bag @ Lowes where I live). There is some minimal shifting if you stand in the same spot and pound away on it, but if you dance around the bag a bit and use some footwork - any movement cancels itself out from side to side (using this movement gives you a lot better workout anyways). I weigh just over 200lbs myself and I can lay into my punches and kicks with all my weight and power and it still holds strong. Delivery was quick and the packaging was appropriate. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone - especially for use with martial arts and kickboxing training.

  1. I was actually looking for a product that has extra padding in the center. Even though this one doesn't have that feature it still works well. The material is resistant.
Good for light to medium sparring.

  2. I normally hate shin-instep guards because the instep portion is too long (interferes with pulling toes back) and the strap under the foot is too wide (being flat-footed, I'm used to having my whole foot grip the floor). However, these guards are great! The instep portion covers the instep and not the toes (which I consider a plus) and the strap is a good size and fits snug.

I use these for full contact training for which I consider them ideal. They have enough padding to prevent injuries but let some force through which provides great feedback. I highly recommend these guards.

  3. I kick people with them and don't get hurt. They stay on my legs. Pretty much sums it up.

  4. I got the wrong size. My bad, I guess. However, after returning the shin-guards my credit card was never refunded and neither Ringside nor Amazon has replied to my emails concerning the issue.

I should've just placed thirty dollars on the ground and lit it on fire.
