- I've owned Buddy Lee Jump ropes before. Unfortunately, I lost one and needed to replace. As you become more efficient as a Jump roper, you will require a rope that's fast, lightweight easy to turn, adjustable and not get tangled. The kicker is the swivel design of the handles. That is what separates the Buddy ropes from the rest. Yes, they are expensive. But if you're serious about roping and wanting to make it a part of your regular exercise regime, Then I strongly recommend that you only buy these ropes.
I own a rope master and the Aero (the top of the line buddy rope).
I have no regrets.
- I like this rope. It's handles are long. That takes some getting used to. Buddy Lee does make my favorite rope. That's the AeroSpeed model. The Rope Master and the Aero speed are very similar. The RopeMaster has long plastic handles instead of short aluminum handles. From what I can tell, that's the main difference.
- Great rope. I gave it 4 stars as I have not tried every rope out there, but this one is fast and a joy to use. The longer handles with the foam padding are comfortable. As the instructions go slow when you are cutting the rope down to size. I took a half inch off at a time the first few uses to make sure I did not go to short. I still have a few more inches to get rid of for a perfect fit.
- For performance, this rope is 5/5 - jump rope is lot easier and the long handles take a lot of strain off the shoulders/back muscles. Unfortunately the construction of the rope is poor, the plastic handles break easily - mine cracked at the bearing end just from casual indoor use. I never dropeed the rope or treated it badly and from normal use the handles broke, bearings came out and now the rope is useless.
I will be purchasing the Aero Speed - as I loved the design of Buddy Lee's ropes, and this one has aluminium handles so hopefully they wont crack and break!
- The swivel bearing is the best feature of this rope. You can tell that it spins faster and easier than other ropes. If you're used to a leather rope, it may seem a little lightweight at first. I've also read reviews that criticize the plastic "rope" for wearing down quickly, which I think it would do if you were jumping on concrete. If you jump on padded or wood floors there will be adequate rope life. Also, the rope takes a while to lose its "memory" from being in the box, but after you hang it over a door or something for a few days it's fine. The shipping cost almost prevented me from buying it, but I had a gift certificate so I talked myself into it.

- I thought from the reviews this would be fairly sturdy rope, it wasn't, it was pretty limp. For the price I suppose i got what I paid for.
- I was not pleased with this product. The rope isn't heavy enough to swing easily, it gets tangled very easily.

- This rope made of rubber curls as you are jumping, the more jumps the more kinks in the rope which eventually trip you.
The weighted handles are a nice feature, but the rope tangles impeding jumping, a total waste of money. Look for weighted handles on a plain cotton cord rope.
- I bought this rope and it's working great. I've tried all the ropes and the smoothness and quickness of the ball bearing action is the best of all. A cotton type rope w/ or w/o wts. is ridiculous. That's for kids. So the other reviewer doesn't know what he's talkin about. If going fast, it doesn't tangle. For the best non-tangle w/ removeable 1lb.(that is 3 1/3lb. wts. ea. handle) try www.ropesport.com for their beaded jump rope. I go to their classes and this is what they use. The swinging arc is really good and even going slow it won't tangle. And L is adjustable either shorter or longer. Also c/o bk. "Ropesport," the bible of ropejumping. But, this prod. is effective.
- The Valeo 2lb. jump rope is a great workout tool. It is easy to adjust the size and the rope does not tangle. However, you must take good care of the handles. I broke one of the handles only after a month of ownership. The plastic cover that holds the metal and spring inside is weak. As long as you are not careless, the product should hold up.

- I love this! I can go outside and jumprope with my kids and be getting a workout at the same time...I know you can use any jumprope to do this, but with the adjustable weighted handles on this rope I can add weight to my workout or take it out just to feel like a kid again!

- I just purchased the jump snap and I am pleased with the product. I'm a 43 year old male and I need to get in shape. The 8 minute workout was not so easy, but I was doing some of it at my own slower pace. The product is a good aerobic workout without the clumsy tripping of real rope jumping. I plan to use this every day to get in shape and lose weight. I like the fact that it's portable and can be done anywhere. This will be a daily part of my workout. I also lke the fact that you don't have to spend a lot of time, in order to get your heart pumping. I know in a perfect world you want to get in an hour of exercise a day, but the way I look at it with products like the Jump Snap and the Body Blade which I have been using for years are a great way to get your daily workout in half the time and still get in some exercise instead of doing nothing. For instance, I like to watch T.V., so I would pick up the jump snap and do it while watching my favoriate t.v. show. I get the benefits of watching my T.V. and getting some exercise in also. For the new year I plan on being a health couch potato.
- I really like this rope but I am on my second one because the rope frays badly over time. The company was good enough to replace the first one but then the second set of ropes did the same thing. The ropes are also getting a bit longer on one side on both pairs. I have given up on this product but I really did like it before the ropes failed.
- I think this product could burn lots of calories, but I found that the next day after each workout both my hip and knee joints were extremely sore! I work out regularly and have never experienced this much joint discomfort after a workout session. I have stopped using this product.
- I ordered this product because I wanted a different type of cardio workout. I am bored with the treadmill and elliptical. Jumping rope is definitely an excellent workout and being able to simulate the action and take advantage of the benefits in relatively small places is a cool idea. So, JumpSnap gets a lot high reviews, I figured I'd try it. But honestly, I got the product, tried the workout DVDs and yes, the workout was great but, I could have done it without using the handles. There really is no way the counter is accurate and the simulated rope sound isn't all that great. It's a good prop but really.. You can get a good Rope Workout video and when you can't actually use a regular rope, (like indoors in a small area), just "pretend" to use a rope. You will probably have the same results and save some $$ too. I returned the product... still waiting for my refund though. :-(
- A wonderful, portable exercise tool. No one has an excuse not to be fit and healthy.

- VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT, WEIGHT IS PERFECT, EASY TO ADJUST LENGTH, EASY TO PACK.
- The box describes steel ball bearings AND the photo shows them too. But guess what ?........ there are NO meatal bearings at all. Therefore, the "weight" is absent and the actual length of this jump rope is only 8 ft. instead of 9 ft. Too short and lightweight for me to use at all. A disappointment.
- This is nice, but a little long. I love the weight though and adjusting the length isn't that hard to do..
- This jump rope won't tangle, is a little heavy, and makes a crisp sound when it hits the floor. Basically, this is perfect for new people who jump rope because you can definitely get the rythme down. Plus, the beads protect the rope from being torn apart by rough surfaces. (i.e. concrete) Don't expect to be doing any fast roping or tricks though.
- It's not bad. Technically, the rope is adjustable but it's tricky since the rope is held to the handle by a knot (preventing it from going through a hole in a plastic piece inside the handle), and so the knot is not really accessible except through the end-cap on the handle. This makes it difficult if not impossible to undo the knot in the rope since it's about 2" inside the handle and there's no good access to it... but it's theoretically possible. I spent about 10 minutes with tweezers before giving up. The problem is that you can't pull the rope further out to access the knot since the beads push up against the other side of the handle.
They should have designed the handle as a two-piece screw-off so that you could easily change the placement of the knot. But the default length is about 9' and there's at least 6" extra if you can get the knot undone. I'm 6' and the default length is barely long enough, but it works.
The other thing is that the beads seem a little bulky. They have these little bumps on them which have no apparent function, and I'd rather have the traditional smooth beads. But it spins nice.

- After only 2 months of daily use, the rope detached from the wooden handle. Now I can't even insert it back. Be careful and check the quality of the speed ropes.
- The product is great, and they arrived at least one week or more earlier than stated. We have ordered jumpropes several times, and they always arrive before the stated delivery date and are always in excellent condition when they arrive.
- I bought this to get a litte bit of an upper body workout while I got some cardio. Initially, I thought that the jump rope didn't have much weight, but after jumping for a few minutes I changed my mind! It really gives you a good shoulder workout. I do 1-2 mins of rope and then switch off with abs and pushups. I gave it four stars because it gets a little bit tangeled and I can tell that after enough thwacking on the floor, it'll eventually give out. One of the other reviewers said that it lasts a few years, which I think itsn't all that bad. Overall, I really like it.
- It died on the 1st outing. Totally worthless. I did a class at Bally's. The handles don't grip so it slipped out of my hand and hit the floor. The wood broke off the handle. I continued and the other handle slipped and again the wood broke off. So now it was really unuseable. An inferior prod.
- The product arrived in less than four days. I like the weighted handles for better leverage in twirling the rope. However, it is not so weighted at the handles where the rope snaps from the handles like some other weighted handle jump ropes.
Since the rope is shipped with a rubber band around the leather rope, the user will need to flatten in a nearly straight line and allow several uses to remove the tangles.

- Great customer service! Brad from Jumpsnap sent me a replacement with no questions asked. I was really impressed!
- This is a decent product and does what it says it will. You can use it to jumprope in a very small space. it does not keep exact track of your jumps because you have to be able to twirl the handles perfectly. But, other than that, no complaints.
- I've had my JumpSnap for a month now and love it! I have progressed from the beginner workout of 8 minutes to the 16 minute one, with weights in the handles, and have seen a huge increase in my cardio ability. I started out, after the first two minute session a month ago, breathless and sweating, but now I can do the full 16 minute workout without taking longer water breaks. My pants fit better too! I highly recommend this as a fun, quick way to exercise at home, or while traveling!
- I bought this about 2 months ago but didn't pull it out til last week--I thought i was too busy. Well, whaddya know, it doesn't take much time at all to really start sweating. I am a former hardcore athlete who has since had two babies, and I am tired of the fat around the middle. So with two young kids (and homeschooling too) I simply could not find the time to exercise. I don't have a sitter, so that's out. My husband works a lot, and sometimes weekends too, so that's out--I suppose I could work out when he gets home at 8:30, but really, I am beat. So...I decide to try the Jump Snap. My husband, who likes to jump rope, thought it was ridiculous. "Why not just jump rope??" he says. Well, the truth is, I don't really feel like concentrating that hard. Add to that the fact that our apartment isn't huge, and I just thought this would be a fun alternative. I watch the nightly news which I've tivo-ed every night while jumping, after the kids go to bed, or I go for 10-15 minutes while the kids are coloring or reading. I feel better and more energetic, which is almost as important as burningn the fat, so that's great. I haven't tried it long enough to be able to tell whether I will lose the butt and belly fat, but heck, at least I'm MOVING, right?
- Great concept--jumping rope without that annoying rope to trip over! :) It's a short workout, but has maximum results. Just what I need: Burn more calories in less time! Love it. Boy, could I feel it the next day! Excellent for building your leg muscles.

- I have tried different speed ropes throughout the last 2 years. Here is my opinion on the 4 ropes I tried. The best I tried was the Buddy Lee Master speed rope with the Aero speed a close 2nd. They are smooth, comfortable and fast. However, the Aero speed is a bit light. The Harbinger comes in 3rd. Its a really good rope, but I did not like the handles which were a bit uncomfortable and the end caps fell off constantly. The last was the Valeo which was a bit light to the touch. All of these ropes will suit any one who likes jumping rope. Its a matter of personal preference.
- The caps for the bottom came off pretty quick other than that no big complaints.
- The Quality of the Jump Rope is as the seller describes and the shipping timing was very good.
- It's good, but wire is weak.
when i got it, i really suprised good quality. however, wire is so weak.
it already is broken.
- When you use this rope, it twist itself after a few seconds and you have to stop, disentangle and use it again.
Not for me. You can't use it for more than a few seconds.

5 comments about Valeo Speed Jump Rope.
- I needed to buy a new jump rope after my old leather one broke at the handle. I decided to go with a speed rope because I have a Valeo workout ball that has lasted the last couple years for me. The jump rope is a lot faster than a leather one, and the first couple times i used it my arms took a beating from the plastic rope. Once I got used to it though it greatly improved my cardio workout. I use it outside on my concrete patio and it's shown a little bit of wear at the point of contact with the ground, but for the price, I can deal with it.
- I saw a few complaints about adjusting the length of this rope. However, I had no issues pulling the caps off the end of the handles and did so by hand. Then I measured the length I needed - to measure a jump rope correctly, stand on the middle of the rope with both feet. The ends should come up to your armpits. There were two extra crimp bands included, so I just cut off the extra length, used a pair of small pliers to crimp the new band in place, and put the cap back on. I recommend you use a rubber band wrapped around where you think you need the crimp band first, try jumping with it for a few rotations, then put the crimp band on where the rubber band was. Too easy.
- But watch your skin, it hurts if the rope hits you as it is some plastic/vinly material that is pliable but strong.
- Jump rope is amazing and provides a good workout that is fun. I'm about 6 foot and the rope was a little too long. It was rather easy to alter the size. You just need to cut the rope at one of the ends and use pliers to re-lock the rope. You'll see what I mean when you order. I use every other day as a warm up before the gym. Its comfortable on the hands and is easy to use. I would recommend for beginners and experts.
- As others have said, the big surprise was when I wanted to adjust it. If you don't have pliers, you're going to be stuck. I didn't get any extra crimp pieces with mine, so I had to use a metal pick (typically used for removing cotter pins) to bend one of the existing stops off the end of the rope. Then I cut to the appropriate length, and re-crimped the end with pliers. Was more effort involved than should have been since it's advertised as "adjustable."
The actual operation is pretty smooth. The bearings allow the rope to rotate freely without a lot of friction. The rope itself is some kind of rubbery plastic coated with vinyl. It's pretty heavy, as far as the ropes I've used anyway. The bad thing is if you jump rope in bare feet, this bad-boy nails them when you screw up, and lets you know via stinging pain that you did indeed screw up. Not a big fan of that. I'll more than likely get a different rope just because I'm no jump roping expert, and it'll probably take me a while before I can become good enough to never get nailed in the feet. (Wearing shoes isn't an option since I jump rope on martial arts mats, and I don't feel like grappling on a surface that has had shoes all over it.)
