- I just purchased the piranah double weave black gi and it is great! It is a super thick very well made gi with a thick and durable collar. The collar and lapel are reinforced well. I compared this gi to my lucky and gameness gi, and was very impressed. The piranah gi is a 700g thick gi, which I think is of equal is not greater thickeness than the lucky and gameness. I was reluctant to purchase this gi because for the price, it seemed too good to be true. Well, this gi is not only a "good gi for the price" but a "great gi- period, no matter what the price." This gi is easily comparable to any upper priced gi on the market and could carry the same retail price. I highly recommend purchasing the double weave piranah gi- you will be pleasantly suprised with the quality, workmanship, COST, and top-notch customer service. I'll be a loyal Piranah customer from now on!!

- a well made gi for a beginner in brazilian jiu jitsu. the grips on the collar aren't huge so you don't have people having iron fists on you, but strong enough to withstand a good jerking.
be careful though, I'm 5'9" and 160 pounds and I got a size 4. It was huge on me to begin with, but once I washed and machine dried it, it shrunk down to size.
the cuff of the pants sits on my ankles and the sleeves are about an inch short of my wrist.
- Great product! My son is five foot ten and weighs 160 pounds and a size 4 fits him perfectly after washing. This Gi will last him a long time since it is so well made. Product was shipped quickly.
- Excellent quality, good stong cloth, and understated color. The guys in my class commented on the high quality. I'm the only woman, so it's hard enough with my tiny judogi, but this makes me look a bit more formidable. It moves like armor at first and the lapels are very stiff, but it loosens up in the wash. It does shrink, thank heavens (looked like a happi coat on me at first). All in all, A-1 product.
- I was wondering what quality I'd get for the price. Even though it was less than a third of the price of other uniforms it appears to be excellent quality.
- What a wonderful product, it comes very large and shrinks a lot so people should take that into account when purchasing this item, I love it!

- Overall this is an okay karate uniform. The material is light yet feels robust and the stiching is good. However, beware of the drawstring pants as there are good size slits in the hips which can expose ones underwear. If one is skinny it may not be a problem, otherwise decorum necessitates safety pins or a sewing job.
- Came as expected in a very good condition. I thought I was going to get a white uniform but I got a black one instead. Anyway, good buy.
- My kid loves his new gi. It looks sharp, and it doesn't hinder his movement, come undone, etc. He wore it happily to his first belt test.
The sleeves and cuffs required hemming, but that's a plus for growing kids. Hint: a glue-gun does the trick and is easily undone/redone.
We got exactly what we ordered, and the quality as every bit as nice as I'd hoped. Good communications and prompt shipping rounded out a great buying experience.
I'll order again from this vendor.
- This uniform works very well in any type of class. its tough material allows you to feel very free but still protected. I use it in my kajukenbo class where i get thrown around a lot. this is perfect for any beginner.

5 comments about Judo / Jiu-Jitsu / Aikido Gi BLUE Uniform (Single Weave).
- Originally I wanted the blue Addis version but it was far too expensive (in my opinion) for me. So when I found this one I decided to give it a try. Well wouldn't know it good old US post office either lost the item or left it with some one who decided to keep it because when I checked the tracking number on the postal website it was listed as delivered. So after calling the post office (who's employees were as helpful as a blind seeing eye dog) I contacted Bob at Piranha Gear. He was very helpful and even sent out a replacement gi the same day (with a signature required). I love the gi, the color holds up well and it looks very nice!!
- im very happy with this gi,very durable, color doesnt fade easily, but does shrink so buy one size bigger than your own.
- The Gi arrived very fast and in perfect condition. The price was great at around $65 shipped. I followed the instructions and have only washed it in cold water and I have never dried it in a dryer (only hang dry) and it shrank about 2 inches at the wrist and ankle which I think looks funny but my insturctor said it's fine. I am happy with my Gi and will probably be buying a 2nd one soon for competition but I will probably be buying a size bigger and try to shrink it.
The size I purchased is a Large (5/180) and I am 6'1, 185lbs.
Sizing Chart Reads
Large
5'11" - 6'2"
170 - 200 lbs.
My only complaint (not really a complaint) was that it comes as 'Shockwave Fight Gear' on the logo and not 'Piranha Gear' nothing wrong with that at all I just couldn't make this out in the photo.
Thanks Piranha Gear!
- I bought a gi from Piranha Gear via Amazon. After I washed it, the top shrank up (too much) but the pants not at all. (I did later read some other reviews, and saw that other people had similar problems. )HOWEVER...when I contacted them, I got a call back from the owner of the company himself. To make a long story short...a replacement is on the way. I cannot praise enough the level of customer service I received. They really went the extra mile.
In short...I know that problems arise...but it is how people deal with them that makes the difference. I was so pleased, that I plan to order more stuff from them again soon.
- I received my gi very quickly, and it came with easy step-by-step instructions for color fixing, and caring for my uniform. A little over a month later, the gi has held up very well to the rigors of 4-times-a-week BJJ class. The only complaint I have is that even with air drying, the sleeves on my jacket have shortened some. Though, after a few rolls and yanks on the cuffs, they lengthen up a bit. Great product, and I would definitely recommend this to beginners who want a quality gi, but don't want to fork out a lot of money initially. Thanks Piranha Gear.

- I bought the white uniform for my son who wanted a heavier uniform. the fit was good and he loves that it 'snaps' when he throws a punch! I recieved it in a timely manner and was pleased that it was exactly what it said it was - quality!
- I bought this uniform for my weapons class as I needed something sturdy without being restrictive. It is perfect. You'll do a lot of sweating in it in a high-intensity workout or if there's no A/C, but it will hold up well and it's a good-looking uniform for traditional performance purposes.

- I'm 6'4" and about 285lb. I ordered a size 6 and it was too small in the jacket. I contacted Piranha Gear and they quickly responded to my request for an exchange. I have never experienced such excellent customer service online until this purchase. I received my size 7, and it fit perfectly. It is comfortable; not scratchy at all. The jacket it very thick and durable, but it breathes and collects sweat very well. The pants are reinforced at the knees and do not wear easily. If I ever need another Gi I'm buying from Piranha Gear.
- For 30+ bucks, this is a good gi. I gave it four out of five because gi's this cheap usually are low in quality. Surprisingly, this gi exceeded my expectations. When I first tried it, I thought about how thin the material was, and was a little skeptical about the durability of the gi. However, after a couple of rough rolls on the mat, the gi is still in one piece.
The only gripe I have about the gi is that the collar is very thin, opponents can easily apply chokes. I would recommend this gi to a beginner, but if you've been training in bjj for a while then definitely check out the more expensive brands.
Good:
Low Price
Light
Bad:
Collar and material are very thin
- I bought this for a backup on days that I have two training sessions. It is much lighter than my number 1 gi but, like I said, excellent for the money. I would much rather pay less than $40 for a gi that I'm only using once or twice a week than $100 for a gi that will hardly get broken in.
I wouldn't recommend for everyday use.
- I am 6'2, 220 lbs and I ordered the size six and it is a very good fit. The bottom is a little longer then my other gi, but it is not a problem. I ordered this single weave gi primarily for the summer (I train in Florida) and it has proven its worth because it's very light and breathable, yet still very durable. Also, Shockwave products are sold by Piranha Gear, which is by far one of the most customer focused sellers I have purchased from on Amazon.

- These are great quality pants. I bought them for my 14 year old son for Taekwondo. They wash extremely well, and are very comfortable. Highly recommended.
- I loved this item. Sizes were exactly as stated. I actually like these pants better than what they sell at the karate studio where my grandson goes. I definitely plan on buying more as we need them.
- Pros:
Quality construction/materials
Wide waist band
Cons:
Might be snug if you are on the heavy side
Who should buy the medium weight uniform? Anyone looking for a nice upgrade to the cheap do balk/Gi most classes provide, but still have a light enough uniform to train in.
These Century medium weight pants are a great upgrade to the semi transparent "student" pants. They feel heavy without being to abrasive or restricting. The elastic waist band is wide enough so it doesn't roll down down my waste as I train, but there is no flexibility in the waist size. If you are on the heavy side the uniform won't stretch over a large belly, get a slightly larger size than you need and hem the legs. High quality material and well made.
