5 comments about Black Cord Wrapped Boken Daito Wood Practice Sword.
- I need a good look sword for a Bleach costume but because i wanted to use it a Con. i had to get a wooded sword. It came in great time and i had alot of fun playing with it. on halloween everyone loved it. but i noticed something my dad loved using it a play with it. so soon after holloween my dad all of sudden bought him one and he said that he was going to "Beat my ass with this" and now my an him are learning how to use them. now the sword are used for what they were made for......kicking BOTH of are asses
ps they really hurt when you get hit by one and the other person doesn't know what his doing -.-
- This is a typical wooden practice sword as differentiated from a fencing sword. It has a cord wrapped handle, not necessary but aesthetically pleasing. This practice weapon is used in kata, and somewhat more closely resembles a steel blade Samurai sword than plain wood bokken.
- It is a very good quality bokken, it was $6.07 when I bought it. It has engravings on the side that run verticle, so if you want to mount it, it will need to be put verticle with the blade down. Also the hand gaurd is loose, but can be easily removed. The seller for this when I bought it was abctoy4me and it was stolen in transit. UPS said they couldn't do anything about it even though they delivered an empty package. I called abctoy4me also and they sent a new one for withought charging anything extra. So I say the bokken is worth much more than I paid for and abctoy4me was very polite.
- First, this is an excellent value for the price. However, having said that, I have to say this is probably best used as a non-contact practice sword. I don't know what type of wood it is made from, but it doesn't seem heavy enough to be oak. The blade has some irregularities in it, like the wood was scooped out slightly with a spoon. It also has oriental characters carved into the blade. The characters are highlighted with gold paint, giving the sword a very nice appearance. However, I fear all of these will contribute to weaken the blade. The plastic retaining ring was too loose, and I had to glue it onto the sword to keep the tsuba in place.
The cord wrapping and the detail on the tsuba make this an attractive piece. I could certainly recommend it for doing kata, but not for anything where it meets firm resistance, such as against another sword. I would certainly buy this item again for the use I intended for it. For the money, it is a good value.
- I purchased this for use in a school presentation on Confucianism. I wasn't expecting much for only $12 so I was surprised how nicely it was crafted. My only complaint is that it has a very strong chemical smell that can fill up an entire room. This took a few months to go away.

- I bought this for my Husband for Christmas. He loved it! Free shipping was really nice too!
- A good punching bag for recreation or practice. Perfect size and the gloves that come with it are nice as well.
- This bag is awesome, i was worried the 70lbs wouldn't be enough but it just forces you to have control which is very conduscive to learning how to hit it.
- I had gotten a 50lb bag for Christmas and was pleased with it, but when I hung it up, it was too high for my 5 year old to hit. I wanted a heavier bag and one that hung lower so I searched all over for the specs I wanted at the best price. I found it here. I'm very happy with the bag. It would have gotten a 5th star if it had come with a ceiling mounting bracket and a floor mounting bracket for the tether. I would reccommend it.

5 comments about Everlast EverGel Hand Wraps.
- I got these wraps as part of an Everlast set that also included a pair of Everlast boxing gloves. I've only had them for two months and use them primarily under my gloves and on my Century Wavemaster boxing bag. They provide nice wrist support and are easy to get off and on. I see them holding up well in the future.
Since there is no mention of sizing on the package, I did an internet search for how to measure your hands to buy these gloves, and this is what I found:
To determine correct size, measure the distance across the lowest knuckles (the knuckles you punch with) of the 4 upper fingers (all the fingers except the thumb). Measure by laying knuckles flat on a ruler. How to measure your hand:
Size Measurement
Small 3" - 3 1/4"
Medium 3 1/4" - 3 1/2"
Large 3 1/2" - 3 3/4"
X-Large 3 7/8" +
Hopefully that helps you pick out the right size!
- Firstly I have to say they are called Hand Wraps, not Gloves, for a reason. People using these as gloves make up the vast majority of negative reviews, which is a shame. As Hand Wraps these are intended to be worn beneath your gloves taking place of the original hand wraps, which you actually had to wrap around your hand. They are very quick to put on, quite comfortable, and offer a stiff wrist. Having used them every three days for the past two months I have no complaints, they are starting to break down a bit, but I use them quite heavily and they are on pace to last as long as old fashion wraps. I will be buying another set, they make it easy to get in a quick heavy bag routine.
- these are meant to use as hand wraps but they suck when using with gloves over them. the fingers curl back and they dont function anywhere near as good as taking the time to wrap the tried and true way. as bag gloves they will tear very quickly. i wish someone had told me this info before i had purchased..they are pretty comfortable i will give them that but i have decided through my own experience this a fad item or a trend...i went back to wraps .once you get into a habit you can wrap good in a short time
- I agree, they do run small. Mine are XL and I only weigh 140. I use them for my speed bags, double end bag and free standing heavy bag which is not real hard or heavy. They do better than any other gloves for that.
Having punched at a lot of heavy bags, certainly heavy bags are not all the same, so for "real" heavy bags, go with a much fuller bag glove and not just these. They do take up a lot of space under bag gloves or sparring gloves.
I like the way the fingers are still free to use the medicine ball and weights and then go right back into hitting the bags.
Again, for harder heavy bags, go with complete bag gloves at about 12 to 16 oz.
- The gloves fit great and have lots of adjustments to tighten them just right. They provide plenty of protection to your hands when pounding the heavy bag. Very happy I bought them.

- Bag arrived quickly and in good condition. The cardboard packaging was mangled by UPS but the product survived intact.
- I bought this bag for myself and my 9 year old son. It works great for the two of us. It does move around some when I am hitting it. My husband is also using it and he can move the thing around the room. It is definitely a beginner bag. We will have to upgrade when my son gets bigger and stronger.
- This heavy bag is the updated version of one I already have. Bought this for my grandkids. It appears to have solid construction and I like the height adjustments better than mine. While they can not hit it that hard yet, they enjoy it. Shipping was satisfactory. This was a good purchase.
- I bought this for my children ages 5, 8, and 10 because at karate they seemed to really enjoy it. I've found it's a great way to funnel their energy. Buy boxing gloves though. The bag hurts their knuckles. I am using sand as a stabilizer in the base. We are very happy with our bag.
- Purchased the wavemaster for my son because he has nowhere to hang a heavy bag. He likes it a lot. Shipping was very fast.

5 comments about Century Wavemaster XXL Training Bag.
- I own a martial arts studio and we love these bags. They are about as tall as a man, so they are great for a martial arts workout. Unfortunately, you hit them hard enough for enough times and the screw from the top section will break - and then it's garbage. (The top section screws into the base. The screw is hard plastic and goes through the length of the padding.) They will take a lot of abuse before that. We've been buying these for 3 years. We've bought 12 total and have 5 dead ones (which work pretty well for back hand spring spotters when laid on their sides). What kills them is repeatedly kicking them hard enough that they tip over. Specifically, 160 - 200 lb brown or black belt doing flying side or front kicks with a lot of snap force 25 times will probably kill this bag. Now I know this kills the bag, but let's face it - those are fun kicks and the students love getting their kicks strong enough to knock the bag over. So, we're moving to hanging bags for that drill because it's getting too expensive to replace this bag.
- I am 6'4" and a reviewer of the "regular" wavemaster (see the most-helpful negative review) helped to point me to this VERY large bag. I love it! I can punch at my own level, or even above my level, without any issues. I only filled the base about 1/4 of the way so that it has some "give" when I punch it. Could not be happier, especially with amazon's awesome free shipping. One tip: definitely get yourself some bag gloves, my knuckles are already showing some stress...
- Like other reviewers, we didn't have an appropriate place to hang a heavy bag, so gave the Wavemaster XXL a shot. I got this primarily for my 6 year old son who's taking Tae Kwondo and needed to practice his kicks at home.
The base is fairly large and easily holds 250 pounds of pea gravel for ballast. Perhaps I should have gone with water, but my son's coach suggested gravel because it weighs more and doesn't slosh when you hit the bag. I may regret that decision when it comes time to get this out of the basement family room, but that may be years from now.
That ballast keeps the bag from moving too terribly much. Of course, my son can wallop the bag with kick after kick and the bag stays put. I couldn't resist the temptation to work off the occasional bout of frustration myself and bought myself a pair of boxing gloves. I'm 6'1" and weigh 225. When I work up a good sweat with this bag, it does move a fraction of an inch per punch. This isn't really a problem though, I just work my way around the bag to keep it in its place.
I can't imagine punching this bag hard enough to cause the cylinder to break, but I imagine that a good sized adult kicking this bag hard could possibly damage it. If that happens, we'll replace the cylinder with another and fill that with about a foot of gravel per suggestion of other reviewers. Some dissassembly and cutting may be required to accomplish that. In any case, that will be years from now.
Of all the stationary bags I researched, this is the most solid and heaviest I've seen. I recommend it highly.
If you want to see one in use, go to U-tube and search for "XXL Bag". You'll see several videos of people giving this bag a workout.
- I have had the wavemaster before for 5 yrs and it took all the kicks and punches that I gave it and its the best bag
that has done that and lasted 5 plus yrs so when it got damaged I brought another one and to me its the best bag I have ever worked with. Its my second wavemaster and there the best make sure you fill it up with sand its alot better than water and heavier. Roy
- The product was shipped ahead of schedule always a good thing. Assembly was easy;I chose to fill it with sand vs water, five 50lb bags. As advertised this brought the weight to about 270plus pounds. Yet the weight is not enough to keep the bag from being tipped over. I was able to knock it over with a fairly moderate punch and a kick blasts it to the floor without trying. I have to resort to just using the bag for speed drills vs power drills. So in short this is not a heavy bag for adults with any true power behind them as advertised. So I kept it for my up and coming students to practice their power hits.

- I purchased this item because it looked good and was what I was looking for but I almost cut my fingers off when the locking blade closed under pressure the lock slid under pressure and let the blade close
- great knife . i was really surprise of the build and quality of the knife for the price.. i feel really good in your hands nice sharp blade and three way to open which is super fast for self defense or something and the blade and stainless steel with a black coating on it which give the knife a good sleek look and the blade is a lock in place blade and there is no wobble what so every. also has a pocket clip that let you clips on the belt or pockets or what ever you like. i really recommend this knife you get more that what you pay for. 8.99 with free shipping you cant go wrong...
- this knife is an amazing knife for the price. It took 4 days to get to mmy house and is just plain out fun to use. I highly reccomend this knife.
- I was knocked over by the overall quality of this knife ,for what nine Bucks ? I would say that the Chinese manufacturing is 85% there. The materials seem excellent .Fit and finish the same. About the only thing I see that was a little rough around the edges was the fasteners used. The slots and groves on the fasteners are not that sharp and crisp and the belt clip seems to have a little play in the design, but these are only little things. Tell me what the hell is the world going to do when the Chinese get themselves really wired tight ? There is no way that the USA or Europe will be able to produce a Knife like this for 9 bucks retail and if the retail was nine what was the whole sale price 5 or six. Most likely much lower. For nine bucks it is one hell of a nice knife. It opens smooth and closes with slight thumb pressure on the release and that is un lubricated. Once the Chinese get seriously into the car business say goodbye to every non luxury car maker in the world. How would you like to be able to purchase a F-150 equivalent for six grand or a Hyundai clone for Three grand ?
- It looks really good. The blade is sharp and keeps an edge. However the hinge is really tight and needs to be loosened.

5 comments about Shock Doctor Men's Power Compression Short with BioFlex Cup.
- When I bought these I already owned a couple pairs of the UnderArmour version. As much as I love UA products, I decided to order these, the shorts themselves are great, the fit me very well, a little looser than the UA but no big deal. The cup however, terrible design. It's very narrow, and tapers to a point (towards the bottom) don't have to try these on to know why that's a problem. I put the cup I was already using in and it fits much better, but the cup pocket is cut to accommodate the other one so it's not a great fit and it tends to move around very loosely (a little freedom is nice but that's not what this is)
I study muay thai (with a tae kwon do influence)
***UPDATE*** I am now currently taking a variation of tae kwon do. needless to say, i still love these shorts.
- The compression shorts are comfortable, fit well, and keep everything together nicely. You know, where it all should be. The cup is solid, but flexible, and breathable. But when you actually put the cup inside the pocket on the compression shorts... you have to wonder what the people at Shock Doctor were thinking.
First of all, the pocket for the cup is OUTSIDE of the compression shorts. So when the cup is inserted, it just kind of floats there above your junk. It's not very snug, not very tight. Lo and behold, the first time I was kicked while wearing the cup/shorts combo, it pinched something fierce and scared me for my future progeny.
There is a quick fix: if you wear the cup in a jock underneath the shorts then all is well. It works quite nicely this way. But that entails buying a jock. Which was not my intention in buying this combo in the first place.
- I have been wearing a Shock Doctor jockstrap and cup for a while and thought I would try the compression shorts to see if they were any more comfortable. The shorts are OK, but I prefer the jockstrap because everything stays where it should and I feel better protected that when wearing the shorts.
- I'm going to have to agree with a couple of the other reviews on this site. This is not a good design for a compression short/cup combo. We do a lot of ground fighting and any sort of movement that doesn't involve me standing strait up, causes the cup to move around in the lame pocket that is built in to the shorts. So instead of covering my valuables, the cup's edges end up directly over them. I shudder to think what getting kicked or jammed will feel like when it is in just the wrong place.
My only hope if I want to still use the cup is to buy a regular jock and hope the cup fits in OK. The compression shorts are very comfortable though, I will continue to wear them.
- Like others have said, on their own the cup and the shorts are great. Combined, not so much. Following the recommendation of a fellow reviewer I just wear my jock strap under the shorts & everything works great. I use the shorts for BJJ and they are very comfortable & they help keep my rashguard from riding up. I will probably buy another pair sans cup.

5 comments about Everlast 4455-3 3-Pk. Hand Wraps.
- The 3 pak hand wraps are a great value. It works out well for my classes to have the extras on hand so I am not always ordering them for my members. My students seem to like the different colors, but being that they are all female, would like to see pink, blue and yellow!!!
- The good:
> This product has the everlast logo on it, making it brand attractive.
> dries out fast
> colour does not run
> slightly stretchable
> bundle of 3 pairs makes it ship to ship
The bad:
> at 104 inches (264 cm), this wrap is quite short
> the everlast logo is not centered, which reflects on the quality and care in the making
> material stretches out unevenly
- Didn't come in this three colors, just in white...
but it's a good hand tape with a good size..
- Easy 2 use, has a slot at 1 end, so you can put some fingers through. Long lasting
- These handwraps are very short. 108" is not the ideal length and I was very unhappy to find this out. I would suggest a much longer handwrap. Especially if you're a beginner, like myself, you need much longer handwraps for the support because longer handwraps allow you to have cross-finger support as well as the much needed wrist support. DON'T BUY. GET LONGER HANDWRAPS!!

3 comments about 26" Solid Steel Expandable Baton with Holster.
- I have bought a few of these telescopic wands from Amazon, and this is the best one to date. I bought the 16" for my wife and the 26" for myself. It will actually collapse if it is tapped on the side (on the point at the top) and hit fairly hard straight downward. It has a pretty solid feel to it and will definitely cause some damage if necessary. The holster is nothing fancy but it has a loop for your belt that is functional. Overall very happy and I think my search for the perfect baton is over.
- I bought this on the strength of the first reviewer's comments. It's just what I expected. Nothing fancy just 3 telescoping steel rods that slide into each other. If you whip it open with a lot of strength then you will have to give it a good smack on the ground to close it again. The more forcefully you open it, the more force you will need to close it again. It is 10 3/8" closed and weighs 1.46 pounds with it's little nylon holster. I'm satisfied with it. I got it to ward off unfriendly dogs. Don't know if it works for that yet and I'd just as soon never find out.
- My order came faster than most other orders i place on Amazon! plus, im really thrilled with the product itself. its just what i have been looking for. i thought at first the foam grip might be cheezy, but to my surprise its comfortable and sleek.

5 comments about Everlast Heavy Bag Hanger.
- Yes, when you hit the bag it does spin (every heavy bag is going to spin unless you use a 4 point hanging system) and it will spin and eventually untighten the bolt at the top no matter how much you tighten it even with the locking washer in place. Period.
Solution: Buy a locking nut (it has nylon at the top that locks it in place) and use two nuts (the supplied one and the locking one) plus the locking washer.
Details: The supplied nut goes on first but don't thread it all the way down to the bracket. Leave some space for the thing to spin freely. Next, put on the locking washer supplied. Next, put on the locking nut and tighten all 3 together leaving space for the assembly to spin.
This will never come loose on it's own if the nuts are tightened properly since the space left means that there is no friction with the bracket.
Thanks to those mentioning the issue with the threads on the cross bolt tearing through the hook. I'm going to find another bolt that works or add a sleeve to the supplied bolt.
This hanger is fine (sturdy) but only giving it 3 stars since the hardware they supplied is not that well thought out. They should have supplied a metal sleeve for the cross bolt and the additional locking nut.
- It will hold a bag up, but you could probably buy a couple bolts at any hardware store and create a mount just as good. Since this setup was cheap, I'm not complaining, but if it doesn't spin, I don't see the point of buying this.
I recommend spending $5 more and getting the Everlast Professional Swivel, which is more specifically designed for a punching bag.
- Fast shipping and good quality at the best prices. I've bought from Amazon many times and I am almost always completely satisfied with the product. They describe exactly what you'll be getting. This is a good mount for a heavy/ punching bag. It works well and easy installation (2 screws). Comes with everything you need. However you might want to put a locking nut on the bolt that holds the two halves together instead of the one they give you. I tightened it up, but I punched it loose and I just tightend it back up. This only happened once, I maybe just didnt tighten it up that great the first time. Still might be a good idea if you have this as a problem though. I used it on my 80 lb bag and it worked well for that. The screws they give you hold pretty good. It's a good mount.
- this product is great it is my basement as your reading this and is holding my 80 lb bag with ease. i would definitely recommend it.
- After reading the reviews here I was a little skeptical, but being "handy", I thought I could make this unit work. I was right.
Aside from the items in the packaging I used these additional items: A roll of electrical tape, a carabiner, a utility knife, stud finder, socket set, drill.
My bag is a 100 lb Everlast.
I did it like this:
1. Use stud finder to locate a beam. Note: Stud finder kept going off when it touched my skin, but you may not have this problem.
2. Cut away small rectangle of drywall on ceiling the size of the device.
3. Use device to mark hole locations on beam, and pre-drill pilot holes into them to keep beam from splitting.
4. Per instructions, assemble two pieces of unit with center pin, leaving some play in the screw/bolt for movement.
5. Wrap horizontal screw in black electrical tape to keep bag chain from wearing out the screw. Put screw through assembly. Secure bolt.
6. Loop the carabiner through the top of the chain/strap that supports the bag. This allows for easy setup/tear down if needed.
7. Use a chair under your leg to balance the heavy bag on top of, clamp carabiner to horizontal screw.
DONE!
