Shock Doctor Men's Power Compression Short with BioFlex Cup By Shock Doctor.

5 comments about Shock Doctor Men's Power Compression Short with BioFlex Cup.
  1. I have a couple pairs of these Shock Doctor Compression Shorts with cup. I really like the way the shorts fit. I bought them for Tae Kwon Do sparring. I like them so much that I also wear them for extra support while snowboarding. The tight elastic fit means they ride up a lot less than normal underwear, though they do occasionally require minor adjustments. The only complaint I have is the way the cup fits. Maybe I am just shaped weird, but the cup does not fit as tight as I would prefer. Regardless of the loose fit, it still does its job and I can completely forget about it during matches. Overall, I think the shorts are a great buy.

  2. When I bought these I already owned a couple pairs of the UnderArmour version. As much as I love UA products, I decided to order these, the shorts themselves are great, the fit me very well, a little looser than the UA but no big deal. The cup however, terrible design. It's very narrow, and tapers to a point (towards the bottom) don't have to try these on to know why that's a problem. I put the cup I was already using in and it fits much better, but the cup pocket is cut to accommodate the other one so it's not a great fit and it tends to move around very loosely (a little freedom is nice but that's not what this is)

I study muay thai (with a tae kwon do influence)
***UPDATE*** I am now currently taking a variation of tae kwon do. needless to say, i still love these shorts.

  3. The compression shorts are comfortable, fit well, and keep everything together nicely. You know, where it all should be. The cup is solid, but flexible, and breathable. But when you actually put the cup inside the pocket on the compression shorts... you have to wonder what the people at Shock Doctor were thinking.

First of all, the pocket for the cup is OUTSIDE of the compression shorts. So when the cup is inserted, it just kind of floats there above your junk. It's not very snug, not very tight. Lo and behold, the first time I was kicked while wearing the cup/shorts combo, it pinched something fierce and scared me for my future progeny.

There is a quick fix: if you wear the cup in a jock underneath the shorts then all is well. It works quite nicely this way. But that entails buying a jock. Which was not my intention in buying this combo in the first place.

  4. I have been wearing a Shock Doctor jockstrap and cup for a while and thought I would try the compression shorts to see if they were any more comfortable. The shorts are OK, but I prefer the jockstrap because everything stays where it should and I feel better protected that when wearing the shorts.

  5. I'm going to have to agree with a couple of the other reviews on this site. This is not a good design for a compression short/cup combo. We do a lot of ground fighting and any sort of movement that doesn't involve me standing strait up, causes the cup to move around in the lame pocket that is built in to the shorts. So instead of covering my valuables, the cup's edges end up directly over them. I shudder to think what getting kicked or jammed will feel like when it is in just the wrong place.

My only hope if I want to still use the cup is to buy a regular jock and hope the cup fits in OK. The compression shorts are very comfortable though, I will continue to wear them.

  1. Purchased this training bag for my daughter. It arrived in about a week in good condition. We set it up as directed without any problem. My daughter and son-in-law really enjoy it. I am completely satisfied.

  2. Quick delivery, good condition, no problems. I was very impressed with the speedy delivery!

  3. This provides a great workout. One thing you should know, it moves. I have the 250 lbs of sand in the base and my wife(5'2" 125#)makes it "walk" across the floor. This is not bad if you have the room to move around it and work from different sides like a regular heavy bag. Overall we are very happy with this bag.

  4. I own a martial arts studio and we love these bags. They are about as tall as a man, so they are great for a martial arts workout. Unfortunately, you hit them hard enough for enough times and the screw from the top section will break - and then it's garbage. (The top section screws into the base. The screw is hard plastic and goes through the length of the padding.) They will take a lot of abuse before that. We've been buying these for 3 years. We've bought 12 total and have 5 dead ones (which work pretty well for back hand spring spotters when laid on their sides). What kills them is repeatedly kicking them hard enough that they tip over. Specifically, 160 - 200 lb brown or black belt doing flying side or front kicks with a lot of snap force 25 times will probably kill this bag. Now I know this kills the bag, but let's face it - those are fun kicks and the students love getting their kicks strong enough to knock the bag over. So, we're moving to hanging bags for that drill because it's getting too expensive to replace this bag.

  5. I am 6'4" and a reviewer of the "regular" wavemaster (see the most-helpful negative review) helped to point me to this VERY large bag. I love it! I can punch at my own level, or even above my level, without any issues. I only filled the base about 1/4 of the way so that it has some "give" when I punch it. Could not be happier, especially with amazon's awesome free shipping. One tip: definitely get yourself some bag gloves, my knuckles are already showing some stress...

  1. I bought this thinking it would give me a good core workout and also allow me to have a good punching bag in an apartment with limited space. The fact of the matter is that this is not even suitable to punch. You can't really lay into it like a heavy bag or other reflex bags. All it took was one powerful punch to the base of the bag and the head came flying off! This is a total disappointment and I hope Everlast recalls this piece of crap. My advice if you have limited space, and cannot hang a bag, is to get a free-standing Wavemaster heavy bag. Now there's something you can pummel without worrying about breaking it.I've heard the Cobra Reflex bags work well too, but I havn't tried them.

  2. My gym has two of these and they both take a beating, are still in great shape. I purchased this for my son, 5'11" & almost 200 lbs after seeing it and he & I both used it at the gym. Not sure about the core workout, but it's great for dancing around and dodging the blows (it will come back at ya!) It's fun and does help a lot with the reflexes. It's not as easy as one may think to hit this bag over and over as fast as it moves. I paired it with a set of Everlast Grappling gloves and there you have it. A fun little work out that MOM and son can do together. Guys looking to throw their weight around should go for the hanging bags.

  3. I disagree with the previous review. I bought this item and have been having fun with it. I'm a serious martial artist weighing 195 lbs and I hammer this thing with punches as hard and fast as I can and it keeps bouncing back. I purchased this to use inside during the winter months. If you want a heavy bag--buy one. This is meant to work speed, and it also gives you a chance to work defensive head movements, since it snaps back at you. For the price, it's a good value.

Minor complaints, the spring will unscrew slightly as you work it. I just screw it back down afterwards. The construction isn't heavy duty--but it's fine for the price.

  4. I just weight about 190 lb. But when I punch the bag, it is not difficult to punch it to bend it to the ground. What's worst, the head was broken and flew out one day. I seriously suggest everlast recalls this product and re-examines or re-designs the head (the ball)!

  5. The bag was great at first. The spring makes the reaction speed to the bag fairly slow. My biggest complaint is the bag itself started tearing apart from the inside from impact. Every time I punch it, bits of foam the bag is made of keep falling out of it. I keep thinking my next punch will knock the bag off the pole and then I just wasted $40. Was great until it started falling apart. Might as well pay more for a better bag. I guess you get what you pay for.

  1. Everlast is a master of its craft. I highly recoomend these wraps! I purchased two packs and completely and utterly satisfied. Thank you amazon!

  2. I use these wraps for boxing, kickboxing, and an 'MMA on the Bags' class. I'm very happy with them. They're nice and thick (I'm not fond of those skinny, flimsy wraps) so I get great coverage and the thickness also gives extra support for my skinny wrists, and allows them to keep their shape. Because of their thickness, I can also use them as a knee or ankle support. I recommend these wraps to any boxer.

  3. these wraps are great. If you need longer wraps go for the Mexican style wraps. My hands are a bit smaller so it's fine for me. Definitely helps protect my hands when I hit the heavy bag. You definitely need wraps if you're going to do that.

  4. I bought these hand wraps for my son and he is very happy with them.

  5. As advertised -- get the length you need, 180" is for adult men (bigger even would be better for very large hands)

  1. My boyfriend mentioned that he wanted a punching bag to work out on. I ordered this for a surprise. It arrived in great condition, box and all. I am happy with the savings of this purchase and happy with the product. We would have paid more at our local sporting store and would have had to haul it home. The only thing is I wasn't home to get it so when the box arrived, my honey pretty much guessed what was in the box because EVERLAST was printed on the outside of the box. It was actually funny. We bought some extra chain to strap it up on the steel beam in the basement and he uses it often.

  2. I bought this for my son for Christmas. He seems to be happy with it, although he has not beat the snot out of it much yet. It did come with the box pretty beat up, but it was very heavy to hall around, so I'm guessing the delivery guy had a hard time with it. Glad I ordered it for delivery so I didn't have to try to get it into my car. Happy so far!

  3. The bag that is pictured with the chain and traditional Everlast logo is not the bag that is sent out. The model #4008 is what is on the box(box is barely hanging on and is patched up with shipping tape all over to keep it together) but the bag inside has black webbing instead of chain and the new International Everlast logo. Other than that this is a great bag for the money it just is not the bag pictured and it is not the one ordered. So expect the unexpected. Good luck and keep your guard up.

  4. this was a Christmas present for my husband, he loved it. Couldn't wait to hang it up and start working out. The great part for me was the heavy bag was $30 cheaper on Amazon than the store and it was shipped right to my door for free!

  5. this bag is awesome. Im whoopin its ass on a regular basis its sturdy durable and great for drills!!!!
    Buy it i recommend it

  1. I had been seaching for mixed martial art gloves and I found these the price Is chaep compared to what I was Loking at and they works well

  2. Bought these for use in a kick-boxing class and they're just what I was expecting. It would be nice if the fingers were covered a little more, but otherwise they're perfect. They've held up great!

  3. I am really pleased with how these gloves fit, they are really tight for sand bag training, they are still flexible if you train hand to hand or grabbing combat

  4. These are a good set of gloves. However, I do most of my work on the heavy bag and there isn't really a lot of padding in these grappling gloves. By the end of the workout I am definitely feeling it in my hands. My only other complaint would be the size. I got the L/XL and I still end up with a lot of pain in between my fingers. Overall, I would recommend these gloves, but not for bag work.

  5. Very good product, i use it several times a week, very comfortable and high quality, the best deal i ve ever made in sport product

  1. This was awesome to pratice with. the only problem is you cant practice too hard.

  2. I ordered a product from this company, but needed to change the speed of shipping, order had already been sent by amazon. When i contacted the company, they were very friendly and processed my order while i was on the phone, had it sent by that day (which was Friday) and i had it by the following Wed. Overall great experience, def will use you guys again.

  3. I need a good look sword for a Bleach costume but because i wanted to use it a Con. i had to get a wooded sword. It came in great time and i had alot of fun playing with it. on halloween everyone loved it. but i noticed something my dad loved using it a play with it. so soon after holloween my dad all of sudden bought him one and he said that he was going to "Beat my ass with this" and now my an him are learning how to use them. now the sword are used for what they were made for......kicking BOTH of are asses

ps they really hurt when you get hit by one and the other person doesn't know what his doing -.-

  4. This is a typical wooden practice sword as differentiated from a fencing sword. It has a cord wrapped handle, not necessary but aesthetically pleasing. This practice weapon is used in kata, and somewhat more closely resembles a steel blade Samurai sword than plain wood bokken.

  5. It is a very good quality bokken, it was $6.07 when I bought it. It has engravings on the side that run verticle, so if you want to mount it, it will need to be put verticle with the blade down. Also the hand gaurd is loose, but can be easily removed. The seller for this when I bought it was abctoy4me and it was stolen in transit. UPS said they couldn't do anything about it even though they delivered an empty package. I called abctoy4me also and they sent a new one for withought charging anything extra. So I say the bokken is worth much more than I paid for and abctoy4me was very polite.

  1. I ordered the black version on Jan. 8th; it's Jan. 21st and when I called they said the order was lost in the mail, they couldn't track it. Amazon said they would replace it, sending it via 1-day service.

Then I get an e-mail saying 1-day service doesn't apply to PO Boxes ... the customer service rep couldn't have said that on the phone and given me the chance to give a different address? Now we have to wait another week ... if it doesn't get "lost" again.

Not happy with Amazon right now...

  2. I think the problem that I've seen other people having in the reviews of these wraps is that these wraps look an awful lot like bag gloves with wrist wraps that are offered by other companies. Even though the package clearly says that these are handwraps (and says nothing about them being bag gloves) they still look like some other bag gloves. But as others have noted, they are not.

But they are a very nice set of handwraps! I used a pair of these inside a pair of Everlast bag gloves and they fit inside there perfectly and felt very comfortable and secure. And what a convenience not to have to go through the time and hassle of wrapping my hands just to get some time on the heavy bag!

So, I like them. I haven't had them for long enough to speak to durability, but I'll try them for awhile and perhaps post an update.

  3. I got these wraps as part of an Everlast set that also included a pair of Everlast boxing gloves. I've only had them for two months and use them primarily under my gloves and on my Century Wavemaster boxing bag. They provide nice wrist support and are easy to get off and on. I see them holding up well in the future.

Since there is no mention of sizing on the package, I did an internet search for how to measure your hands to buy these gloves, and this is what I found:

To determine correct size, measure the distance across the lowest knuckles (the knuckles you punch with) of the 4 upper fingers (all the fingers except the thumb). Measure by laying knuckles flat on a ruler. How to measure your hand:

    Size Measurement
    Small 3" - 3 1/4"
    Medium 3 1/4" - 3 1/2"
    Large 3 1/2" - 3 3/4"
    X-Large 3 7/8" +

Hopefully that helps you pick out the right size!

  4. Firstly I have to say they are called Hand Wraps, not Gloves, for a reason. People using these as gloves make up the vast majority of negative reviews, which is a shame. As Hand Wraps these are intended to be worn beneath your gloves taking place of the original hand wraps, which you actually had to wrap around your hand. They are very quick to put on, quite comfortable, and offer a stiff wrist. Having used them every three days for the past two months I have no complaints, they are starting to break down a bit, but I use them quite heavily and they are on pace to last as long as old fashion wraps. I will be buying another set, they make it easy to get in a quick heavy bag routine.

  5. these are meant to use as hand wraps but they suck when using with gloves over them. the fingers curl back and they dont function anywhere near as good as taking the time to wrap the tried and true way. as bag gloves they will tear very quickly. i wish someone had told me this info before i had purchased..they are pretty comfortable i will give them that but i have decided through my own experience this a fad item or a trend...i went back to wraps .once you get into a habit you can wrap good in a short time

  1. These would be best suited for a child, woman or a man with very small hands. Offered little protection and coverage. Was not very satisfied and they are now sitting in a box in my home gym while I use other ones.

  2. The 3 pak hand wraps are a great value. It works out well for my classes to have the extras on hand so I am not always ordering them for my members. My students seem to like the different colors, but being that they are all female, would like to see pink, blue and yellow!!!

  3. The good:
    > This product has the everlast logo on it, making it brand attractive.
    > dries out fast
    > colour does not run
    > slightly stretchable
    > bundle of 3 pairs makes it ship to ship

    The bad:
    > at 104 inches (264 cm), this wrap is quite short
    > the everlast logo is not centered, which reflects on the quality and care in the making
    > material stretches out unevenly

  4. Didn't come in this three colors, just in white...
but it's a good hand tape with a good size..

  5. Easy 2 use, has a slot at 1 end, so you can put some fingers through. Long lasting

  1. The knife was beautifully crafted with a good balance and sturdy design. Very sharp, learned that the hard way. I only had two problems. The pearl grey grip had a small crack, which I, personally, like, as it makes the knife look worn. The other thing was there was an etching that said "Made in China," but it was very small. This is not a quick draw knife, but, using the thumb stud, I figured out how to flip the knife open quickly, with about ten minutes of practice. Beautiful knife!

  3. i ordered this knife with a 2 day shipping it has been a week dont order from this company

  4. It was a very good, solid knife. It takes a small amount of force to open, but the handling makes up for it all. 5/5 for the price.

  5. I purchased this item because it looked good and was what I was looking for but I almost cut my fingers off when the locking blade closed under pressure the lock slid under pressure and let the blade close
