- I ordered the large and have fought with it a few times against a few different opponents, great for hard hits and even better for those who cant throw a punch to save their life. fits great, buckle is hidden by flap of material so no scratches, provides great experience.
- great product, boxed with it a ton, and its held through the toughest of punches. Keeps your head cool, and absolutely no scratches no my face. Not over bulky either, great vision spectrum too.

- Really nice headgear, but if I had to pay the full price ($60) I'd have opted for something cheaper and non-leather that protects just as well from Combat Sports. Really nice headgear though, with solid protection for your cheeks and chin.
- I bought this because a friend has it and seems to like it so I tried his and went with the large size which fits well. The padding is great the fit is good, it even protects nose pretty good. But the one issue i have is the chin running into my adams apple. When i tuck my chin down it sits up against it so if someone hits me on the lower part of my face it will ram right into my throat, very uncomfortable feelings. So my only wish was that the chin strap was not as wide... or maybe I just have a short jaw, I dunno but I had to return and am going with the bar across the face.

- This is a very nice quality product. It was alot cheaper than other similiar gear but when it arrived it was much nicer than I would expect. Can't comment on its use for spar'ing as my dad wears it to protect his head in case he falls as he is handicapped. But it deos seem to be very solid and thick and most likely would protect quite well during a spar'ing match.
- This gear is good for martial arts, it does his purpose and its very good price.

- I wasn't to sure how well this would work. I am very pleased with the fit and function. The picture made it look like peripheral vision would be an issue, but it was not at all. This is high quality head gear.
- This head gear was probably the worst head gear I have ever used. You would think it's such a basic thing seeing as they are all the same. This head gear literally flew off my head every time I got hit, when I finally got just right it would still spin around my head with every punch. I wish I would have kept the packageing so I could have returned it.
- I purchased the Everlast MMA head guard for light to heavy sparing and I must say it performs great doesnt shift around during training I can take big hits and keep going.
- This is good headgear for full contact martial arts. The extra cheek protection helps out if you are a novice. Before ordering it, I need to let future buyers know a few things.
1. Size: I ordered the small/medium version months ago and returned it because if was too small. If you are a regular size adult, order the large/extra large version.
2. No bottom strap: Some headgear have velcro or other securing straps at the bottom. This one does not and may get loose if you intensively sweat thru your head.
3. Eye protection: The cheek protection protects part of your face does not offer direct eye guard. I had PRK a few months ago and was initially worried. It reduces blows, but you still may get a watery eye if a blow slips thru.
Again, it is a decent headgear, but some nitpicks do exist.
- I train at a "top" MMA camp.
This thing help up well for tech/20% sparring sessions.
However, once I started prepping for a real fight this thing turned into a serious liability. What happened? 2 minutes into my first session, I get clipped with a 6, 3 and find myself BLINDED by this headgear! After getting pounded on for a bit, my trainers stop things to readjust. Back into the cage and AGAIN, instant blindfold.
I finished the session without any headgear at all. After things, my sparring partner looked at the gear and pointed to an identical set sitting in the corner, telling me the SAME thing happened to him 2 weeks prior.
Our trainers took a look and pointed out the worthless chin-padding that replaces a proper chin-strap.
So yeah--you've been warned--stay away from this.

- Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2DPG9QNUVHHJA We bought this set of size XL Red Macho Dyna Sparring Gear to use for my son's TaeKwonDo practice. This is a good set that provides the required protection for light to medium contact sparring. Here are my observations:
Head Gear:
Pros -
+ Good Ear Protection
+ Does Not Obscure Peripheral Vision
+ Good Back of Head Coverage and Protection
Cons -
- No Jaw\Chin Protection
Hand Gear:
Pros -
+ Open Hand Design; good for grappling techniques
+ Protects Sides of Hands and Thumbs
Misc -
* Finger Loops Are Thin; concerned that they will not hold up long (will update if this is an issue)
Foot Gear:
Pros -
+ Easy to Put On; elastic strap and Velcro hold these well
+ Good Ankle, Top, and Side Protection
Misc -
- Other Brand (Century) Has Fabric Coverage on 1/2 of Foot; some like that, others do not
Overall, this is a good starter set of sparring gear that I feel safe letting my son wear. See the video and pictures (in "Customer Images") for more details.

- Obviously not the best, but for the price it does the job. I just got mine so Im not sure how long it will last. It looks cheaply made but still I think you can get a lot of use out of it, if you're not a serious boxer. Adjusts well to fit, and protects the face.
- These take abit of the sting out of punches but you can still tell when you are hit. For the money i think they are great.
- Great headgear for what you pay (especially when they are on sale). These will work for beginners, and for more advanced boxers who want to spar half-speed. I would not let anyone wear these who was going to take serious punches. Imagine an inch of thick-cell foam, and that is what you get. Velcro neck strap and velcro circumference adjuster ensure a tight fit.
- First of all, I bought this headgear because of it's price. At less than $25, it's a good deal for training/light sparring head protection.
My problem with the headgear is that it's on the small-ish side for my head. Though this headgear comes in an "Adult" size, I still had a hard time putting it on (I assumed it was a one size fits all); the design itself is not very intelligent either.
First of all, on the back, there is an adjustable strap coming from the top middle down to the back of the head but the straps coming from the front and sides are not adjustable, rendering the whole point of the back adjustable strap useless - in simpler terms, you cannot adjust the height at all defeating the purpose of the strap in the first place. As I could not strap close the bottom velcro, I cut off the top straps entirely. This does not seem to cause any problems in terms of vulnerability or protection as the straps itself does not do much and the headgear is already snug with no fear of getting loose.
Secondly, I could not fit the headgear because of the thick cushioning that i cut off the back cushion. Because it is attached via two straps, I figured I can always sew them back on but it would have been nice to be able to velcro them on and off. Of course that makes the back of your head vulnerable but I figured I won't be hit from behind so it's a compromise. The elastic band on the back is also very tight and not very elastic at all. Eventually I plan to find another elastic band to sew on and sew on the back cushion as well
Overall, it's a cheap sturdy protection for your head. If it fits perfectly, then it's a great deal for you but for the fellas with larger head sizes, it would have been great if this headgear was more adjustable/elastic. If you could, I would recommend checking out a sporting goods store first and trying it on.
- Got this for sparring/playing around with my friends. Definitely heavy feeling and would probably absorb some headshots pretty decently.
