  1. I bought a pair of Evergel gloves to go under my regular pair of boxing gloves. The first time I pulled them on, the rubbery palm material tore in two places. After using them 3 or 4 times, each glove had several tears from simply putting them on and taking them off. I have no fingernails, and the large is not too small for me, so I have no idea how these rips could've been prevented. Also, because the velcro strap falls below the wrist joint, these gloves offer no wrist support. I had a complete range of motion in my wrist, which is not a good thing when you're punching a heavy bag. The last straw came a few days ago when I pulled on one of the Evergel gloves and the seam connecting the strap to the palm ripped about two inches wide. I don't know how anyone could possibly use these things without quickly tearing them up, unless you buy yourself a size too big, only do aerobic or shadow boxing, and never hit a heavy bag. Even then, be careful putting them on and taking them off.

  2. These are probably the worst quality gloves I have seen so far. They ripped from just trying them on!These are just a gimmick item, better just to go with normal wraps.

  3. i put these gloves on and threw a few punches maybe 8 or 10 on the bag and when i took them off the thread from the finger area came apart an the middle finger was torn... i also hurt my wrist because there is zero support.. these gloves just look nice they are bad for training.

  4. I received a pair as a Christmas gift and the stitching between the fore & middle finger was already coming undone on the right hand glove. The other glove had similar stitching problems between the thumb and fore finger. Keep in mind, I have not even used them yet. They were shipped that way!!!

Based on my own experiences and what I've read other places, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! Its a great idea but someone at Everlast dropped the ball with this one.

  5. Cut of the circulation in a couple fingers (no, they were not too small), and came apart at the seams almost immediately.

  1. I bought my first pair of red Tiger Claw 2000 gloves about ten years ago at a used sporting good store. They were close to being worn out, but I liked the design and how they felt. After an extended absence, I returned to karate in July of 2002. I busted out my old gear and used it for a few months.

However, at my first tournament I almost got disqualified for wearing foam boots that were too small. So I donated my pads to the dojo and bought a brand new set of black vinyl Tiger Claw 2000 gloves and Tiger Claw 2000 Action Kick boots. I'm still sparring with them today as a black belt.

I prefer the Tiger Claw 2000 vinyl material over the shiny foam. The vinyl just looks and feels better to me. In addition, many foam gloves use a rigid tab or strap to constrict your fingers and force your hand into a fist, making it difficult to do open-hand techniques. Plus they are slippery, especially when wet with sweat. Finally, they have an annoying tendency to wrinkle and crack at the stress points.

However, the best part about the Tiger Claw 2000s is that they are flexible and conform to the shape of your hand (there's a pad running across the palm that helps you make a good fist). This frees up your fingers so that you can easily do open-hand, grappling, and jujitsu techniques. The hook-and-loop velcro closure is solid, although sometimes one side of the wrist flap will ride up a bit. The padding is good enough so that you can do a crisp backfist with light contact on someone's headgear. And your knuckles are still adequately covered for straight-punch techniques.

Overall, the Tiger Claw 2000 gloves (and Tiger Claw 2000 Action Kick boots) are an excellent, inexpensive choice for dojo and tournament sparring where contact is held to a minimum. They've held up well for over four years, and I'm quite happy with them. Recommended.

  1. Cardio Hand WrapsI ordered two pair of wraps. They are different than what I am use to. However, I bought from a bulk stock knowing that the quality may be a bit lower than I am use to. I was a little disappointed when I received them because one of the wraps - the logo tag was already torn at the seam. The stitching wasn't finished completely - so, it was already ripped loose. Although, they work fine - I just don't tell people in class where I ordered them from because I will not recommend this site or this product.

  1. This is certainly a convenient alternative to wraps, but the neoprene seems to break down too quickly. As a level of support and protection under speed bag gloves, I think they're great; but as a layer under full, 12 oz bag gloves, I prefer wraps--these make the whole show too bulky and uncomforatble. Recommended for a good, quick workout, but I think they also run a bit small--I have average to small hands, and the Mediums are too tight for me.

  2. I really like these gloves. They provide good protection, they go on easily and wrap tight.

They provide faster and better protection than conventional wraps.

It is easy to learn how to get them off and on quickly. Follow the instructions that comes with them and it becomes second nature in no time at all.

I think that the velco "cross wraps" on the back of the glove could be designed better. They don't add a lot to the glove support and they don't connect very well. But even without them this is a great product that I can readily recommend.

  3. This was purchased as a birthday present. It was the perfect gift and got here in plenty of time.
