  1. The elastic straps really aren't adjustable, so it is not going to sit the same on everyone. For me, the protector seemed to ride up a bit...and I'm pretty tall...if you get hit in it, the bottom part could dig into places you'd rather it didn't.
I would recommend the Shock Doctor hockey female groin protectors instead. The cup is integrated into spandex and it fits perfectly.

  1. If you seroiusly practice Muai Thai / Kickboxing or just want to have kids buy this protector.

As a Muai Thai coach I would recomend this cup to any preson serious about their protection. The curved kidney belt allows you to move your legs freely whilst giving some coverage for areas exposed in a kick position. You barely feel south of the border punches, knees and kicks with this cup due to its deep shape.

Im my job I take many groin shots from in-expreienced fighters or amateurs who miss their target when improving speed and not once have I been hurt when wearing this cup, also I often have to wear it in excess of 8 hours, and never is it uncomfortable.

  1. I spar various opponents at a small Portland co-op boxing gym. I want well-made gear that will enhance my offense, protect my body, and last a long time. My former coach suggested the Ultimate Classic (UC) line from Ringside. My first UC purchase was a pair of the 16-oz. Training Gloves, and they've been great for ring use. The UC No-Foul Protector goes with them like clockwork.

My first lower body protector was the Top Contender Groin Protector Plus, an inexpensive and adequate groin cup with an elastic band that laces up in back. As time went on and I took some hard shots, I wanted greater protection for my nether region. To that end, I originally went with the UC Groin-Abdominal Protector. I ordered a Large, since that's the size of my Top Contender. But the large UC Groin-Abdominal Protector turned out to be too small (the extra leather on the waist makes it less flexible than the Top Contender). So I returned it to Ringside.

However, instead of going for the XL UC Groin-Abdominal Protector, I did an exchange for the XL UC No-Foul Protector. Yes, it was more expensive. But the No-Foul model offers the most protection, and it is equivalent to what a real boxer would wear in the ring. At 5' 10" with a 35" waist, the XL UC No-Foul Protector is tight on me at maximum clinch. However, the hook and loop (Velcro) closure in back allows for plenty of adjustment, so it was easy to get the right fit.

So far, the Ultimate Classic No-Foul Protector has earned its keep. If you're going to put your body on the line in the ring, then you might as well use quality equipment. The Ultimate Classic line is worth the investment if you spar regularly. Now if they only made headgear...
