2 comments about TKO Heavy Bag Stand with Adjustable Speedbag Platform.
  1. Bought one about a month ago and couldn't be happier with this choice for a combo bag training stand. The heavy bag end is awesome. The tubing is burley enough to support not only a 100lb. bag, but 220 lb. me at the same time and not flex one bit. The bag bottom tie-downs are in a good location, not too far forward or backward of the bag's top center. The speed bag end works well with a 10x7 on the supplied swivel, otherwise if you prefer smaller or bigger pick up a new swivel for smoother action. Lastly, GET SOME WIGHT! as in four 25lb. plates, times three. The stand has three weight studs to provide more stability when getting out your aggressions. I recommend 25lb plates because if you have a decently wide stance or want to do some angle work, 35 and 40lb. plates make a much smaller footprint to maneuver in. All in all, I feel good about the deal I got on this thing for the durability alone. That's what I wanted, that's what I got. Oh, the paint job is nice too.

  2. Look at one in store before buying this junk. I made the mistake of buying this without seeing it fully setup. There are a lot of flaws that make not just these, but nearly all TKO stands unusable.

    1) Adjustable height - even at highest setting, it's still not high enough--especially on heavy bags where the weight is concentrated at the bottom. You're basically limited to uppercuts, unless you want to punch while sitting down. Even taking off the chain links isn't adequate.

    2) Stability - If you hit hard, this thing will shake and make noise as it gets older. You can try adding the weights as suggested, but you shouldn't have to modify something that should work right out of the box.

    3) Design - Not for kicking. You will hit the support legs on the way down a lot of times. It's actually pretty dangerous if used for that purpose as a number of things can happen.

Conclusion: I do not recommend TKO stands at all. The design is flawed, and it's more trouble than it's worth.

  1. I im new to boxing and dind know the weight that i should buy for my training globes, I recommend this 16oz, they are heavy enough.
They fit well, solid and look nice.

  2. My initial impression of these gloves was a bad one: they absolutely reek of some sort of organic solvent used during the manufacturing process. It is difficult to hold these chemical-laden gloves up to my face when I'm breathing heavy during training; the smell makes me want to vomit. After a few weeks, the smell becomes tolerable. However, it almost makes me want to pay extra for leather gloves.

The gloves are well-made, I have no complaints about the fit or finish. The thumbs are comfortable and both sides feel the same. The cuffs are comfortable, with no sharp edges or other annoyances. The velcro is sewn on straight and is easy to use. The thumbs are attached, but can be easily freed up if desired. If you just use them for hitting the heavy bag, you're better off snipping the attachment; it will make it easier to grab the velcro and tighten it up. After making gloves for decades, I suppose Everlast has it down to a science.

These gloves are hard. I wouldn't want to get hit by them. If you want to spar someone, they won't appreciate it if you wearing these gloves. But the gloves feel good on my fists. I can really go berzerk on the hardest part of my heavybag without feeling any discomfort in my knuckles.

I'm not sure why Everlast claims that the gloves have an "anti-microbial" lining. As far as I can tell, it's just polyester. In any event, it works fine.

Some other reviewers have complained that these gloves fit too snug. I didn't find this to be a problem. When my hands are wrapped, they fit into the gloves snugly, but the fit is proper. If you have fat, untrained hands, or if you are a large-boned heavyweight, you might experience a tight fit. For most people, the gloves are as they should be.

For the money, these gloves are fine.

  3. I thought that these gloves were really cool because they are easy to put on when you have the other one on, i like the rist rap as well, not a whole lot of padding though

  4. For $26 (what I paid) you can't beat these bag gloves with a stick. Sure, if you are a professional boxer and are planning on using your bag glove HOURS A DAY then spending a lot more on gloves made for professionals would make sense. I've used these a few hours a week ever since I got them and they are holding up just fine and are very comfortable and easy to put on and take off.

  5. Bought these gloves. I am 5'11" with medium sized hands. When I first put them on they were so incredibly tight that I was considering returning them. They have stretched and fit perfect even with wraps underneath. Good buy

  1. Me and my friend bought a pair of these because we wanted to try out some boxing and we didnt want to get full hand gloves. When these arrived (about 5 days wait) we put them on immediately and started trying out on each other. Were not idiots so we didnt do anything serious, the only areas we allowed ourselves to attack were the torso and arms. Honestly, i have to say i was surprised by how much impact these gloves really took off. Its not so obvious in the picture, but the gloves have an extra triangular path of foam on the inside right where your base knuckles are. As a result, the padding in that area is definitely much more than 1/2 inch, maybe even a full inch making the gloves VERY safe to work with. You will still feet the hit but it definitely doesnt hurt. 1/2 inch of dipped foam may not sound like a whole lot but youd be surprised by how much it really absorbs. I would definitely recommend these to anyone whos just trying out a first hand at sparring of any form. Probably not enough for people who really know what their doing, but for starters, this makes an excellent glove.

  2. it has been 6 months of continued use and still looks great and performs great! Same stuff our karate school sells
