5 comments about Everlast Mantis Mitts Punch Mitts.
  1. Mitts no good tore up in two weeks, inside came out. very displeased

  2. Very sturdy and comfortable punching mitts. I am a kickboxing instructor and these work extremely well with my class.

  3. These mitts are very good and are very durable. I am a skilled hard hitting puncher and the ones I have, have lasted very long. Made from the brand you can trust.

  4. My hands arent all that big, but they had a hard time fitting in these. they arent terrible, they are really inexpensive, but my ringside punchmitts stand up to more punches, fit better, have a better shaped target area and werent much more expensive (excluding shipping)

  5. Do not buy these. I'm a boxer but i'm only 140lbs. AFter only a few weeks of trainign with my friends the inside leather of these mitts ripped. There cheap.

  1. If you are looking for aerobic exercise or are limited by space. This punching bag will work well, for the money. Since it is inflatable, the bag is not made for hard punches, but more for technique and get that heart rate up. In my family everyone from a 3 years old to a 40+ has used it and they have enjoyed it.

  2. With two kids ages 5 and 4 this bag takes some serious pummeling. So far it has held up just fine. The kids love to knock it down and watch it pop back up.

5 comments about Everlast Professional Swivel.
  1. Great swivel action, tough construction, easy to remove for adding air to your speed bag. Worth the price.

  2. Works well. Much faster than the "cheap" metal swivel that has only the hook. If you don't have a wealth of speed-bag experience, be prepared to "re-learn" when you upgrade to this swivel.

  3. It's the right tool for the job. The bag swings correctly and totally improves your experience. Note: I had to re-drill the holes on my platform to accomodate the pattern of this swivel. The end result was unquestionably worth the effort. If you are using a cheap ball and hook swivel, you will never get the speed and tight bounce pattern you are seeking.

  4. It really is amazing how pathetic the quality of most Everlast products is today. If you are new to boxing and looking for quality equipment, try Cleto Reyes. From my experience, Everlast manufactures stuff with the kind of consumer in mind that will hang a heavy bag in his garage for decoration purposes only. I'm sure they have some professional line, but that's not what you find on Amazon or in retail store near you.
Addressing the quality of this speedbag swivel specifically, it's ok, mine arrived defective and I had to fix it myself, but it seems to be working now.

  5. highly recommend this vs the traditional hook assembly. the only problem is getting the "latch" off to hook up the speed bag. you will need a link wrench or a needle nose pliers. this does not come with instructions how to do this, go on to the web and you will see many entries on how to do this. other than that one issue it is a very nice complement to traditional hooks.

4 comments about Everlast Soft Flex Water Bag.
  1. Hats off to the folks at Everlast Boxing for producing an excellent foam and water filled heavy bag. I have had arthritis in my hands for the past 6 years and this heavy bag has not given me any problems with my hands or knuckles. Although I say this bag is "easier on the hands", I cannot emphasiize enough how important it is to wear hand protection when you are working out or training. Handwraps are designed to support and help protect the small bones in the hand from breaking. Bruises around the knuckles are normal & natural due to the amount of pressure placed on the knuckle area when punching the bag. For myself, I personally use the mexican style handwraps which provide excellent protection. If greater hand protection is preferred, I recommend the Everlast traditional training gloves because they provide greater wrist support and absorb shock a lot better than a cheap brand such as TKO. Although the instructional insert says not to fill the plastic bladder all the way up to the rim with water I did and have not had any had any water leakage at all. This bag can stand up to one hell of a tough beating and can take all of the punishment that somebody can dish out! The bag has a liner made of softflex foam which has excellent shock absorbtion and has natural give. Heavy bag swing is kept to a minimum because of natural give on the bag due to being filled with water. I highly recommend this bag for someone who has sensitivity in the hands and want a heavy bag that is more comfortable to use.

  2. Overall this is a decent product. The water filled bag is very easy on your hands and wrists, and simulates a human body(a fat human body) better than a normal bag. The water does absorb some of the impact of the punch lessening bag sway but a loop on the bottom would have been nice to allow chaining to the floor or your bag stand. The bag ships empty and disassembled. You'll receive the blue outer case, a large water bladder, and some black foam to surround the bladder. I had some problems with keeping the bags shape as there was significant sag at the bottom of the bag. They give you foam discs to reinforce the bottom of the case but adding something a little stiffer (like cardboard) may help to keep the bags proper shape. - When the bags compressed from the top and bottom it really fills out the blue case nicely. Otherwise it sags at the bottom and the elongated bladder doesn't fully fill out the case giving the bag an odd appearance and less then stellar performance. It will feel like you need to add more water. To combat this I just stuffed some old t-shirts in the case above the bladder to compress the bag down. This helped but reinforcing the bottom would have improved the sagging problem even more. It's not perfect but it's a good price, shipping is much less then a standard heavy bag, and it's is very easy on your hands and wrists.

  3. I chose this bag as replacement to a leaking Century water/air bag that I loved (4+ years old). The foam padding does not provide the needed stability around the water core causing the bag to bend on itself. The result is an inconsistent and awkward punching surface.

  4. Don't waste your time with this bag if you are serious about a workout and want something that will last. I have busted two of them inside of six months. The first lasted about four months. Everlast sent a replacement after I complained and it lasted two months before it sprang a leak in the side. Also, the bag will bulge in the side and at the bottom. Finally the top of the bag seems to collapse after some use and forms and uneven surface that is difficult to hit without injuring your hand or foot. All around a bad design and dose nothing for the fine name of Everlast.

  1. Wore out one of the cheapo bags in about three months. This one has gotten heavy use for six months and is still like new. Holds proper psi for months at a time. Shape is perfect, well balanced, seams are easy on the hands.

  2. I felt the need for speed! This bag is an excellent general purpose bag for the whole family or group. The size, feel, and response is right in the middle of the "zone". Great for beginners and fast enough for the pro. Make sure you grab the pro swivel for proper bag movement. I've been using much more frequently than my old bag because the experience is sooo much better. Enjoy!

  3. This was a gift for my son and he really liked it. It seemed very well made and of good quality.

  4. it even came in a bag...i was most impressed. Enough said ....I love products from everlast...they have never disappointed.

  1. The Shock Dr. compression shorts could indeed shock due to the built-in design of the cup pocket. It doesn't allow the cup to float deep enough. If the wearer bends over, the fabric doesn't allow movement of the cup; the position of the cup changes to a very uncomfortable one that would cause great pain should it be "forced" to protect the protectables. As an umpire, bending over is part of the job; around 250+ times a game. I would like to think comfort and protection were with me during the whole game.

5 comments about Harbinger 320 Bag Glove WristWrap (Black).
  1. I use these for MMA type workout on bags& blocking pads, and they have worked well. They give good protection even when hitting hard. I have not had the problem with dye fading that I noticed with some other gloves. Overall I would reccomend, about the same or less than other gloves from everlast, century, ect and just as good quality.FYI There are a lot of visible seams where the pads "pockets" are attached (especially on the fingers) that you can't see well in the picture advertised. I do't think this is a big deal as many bag gloves have this, I wouldn't use them to spar as these would tend to cut. (most people would use "fighting gloves" to spar anyway, but just trying to be helpful !!)

  2. These are very well made and take a beating. I cut out the roll in the palm to use them for MMA training. The wrist wrap feature is great for hard hitting (similar to their lifting gloves). Overuse of these gloves seems to make wrists weaker because of all over-support they provide to the wrist during punching. I use them once in a while but prefer a light bag glove with a looser wrist to increas arm strength.

  3. I modified the glove a little before using it. I removed the bar across the palm to grapple/weightlift and I removed the smaller pads on the fingers to grip my fist tighter. Its great for training. I can beat on the heavy bag all day and not feel a thing. I dont use it for full contact sparring though cause I'm not so sure how well it will protect my training partner.

  4. This is an excellent product. It exceeded my expectations and is part of my daily workout.

  5. Take a beating and totally last. They fit well but tend to stain your hand when you get really sweaty.

    Overall great product.

  1. These gloves are great for beginners and more advanced alike. They are very sturdy and great for hours of boxing (said by someone that does boxing). But if your serious about boxing would recommend that you would get the professional ones, much more expensive but worth the buy. These are still very good even if your serious and don't have the money for the pro ones. Highly recommend

  2. The only thing I would like to change would be the color of the item. But as far as performance, they are top notch and very dureable.

  3. these gloves are fine for my cardio boxing class, i do not recommend them for anything more serious.

  4. These training gloves work very well. They are easy to get on with the one velcro strap. They're weighted well and provide good support for those active training sessions. I use mostly with my punching bag and have no complaints. Plus the color is nice. Two thumbs up...I mean 5 stars.

  5. These are great sparring gloves, and just as stated, they promote good punching technique. I would prefer if the strap stretched for a tighter fit though. I only use these for sparring; I have a separate pair for the bag. For that I would say I like the Everlast Advanced MMA gloves a little better but these do the trick.

  1. Excellent product. Been beating the tar out of it for a month and it's still in great shape. Great range of target zones and well balanced.

  2. I am a big guy, and it is difficult to find a decent quality stand alone heavy bag, that can stand up to me. I would prefer to have a heavy bag that I can attach to the ceiling, but where I currently live it's not an option.
After 15 years of martial arts, and seeing all kinds of heavy bag fads, I finally found this one, and love it. It has a great base, that is heavy enough that I don't tip it over and the base does not slosh all over (I filled mine up with both sand and water to make it extra heavy). It can take my hardest hits and kicks and still stay upright (no other stand alone bags I have used ever have). Yes it does move a bit, but that just makes you keep up with your footwork, constantly moving around it and making for a better workout. I also like the fact that it is tall, and you don't have to readjust the height.
Of all the heavy bags I have used this one has been the best. Still using it, and so far the bag seems to be standing up to the constant onslaught and abuse, we'll see if it stands up over the long haul.
Yes I would recommend this to a friend.

  3. Got this for my Fiance and he LOVES it he gets a great workout and it take a good beating! Great quality

  4. I could write a very detailed review, but there's plenty of those here. What I do want to touch on however, is the durability of the base (which holds the water).

I've owned a wavemaster, and after a long hard summer of daily annihilation to it, the base finally started leaking water around the pressure area (the area that bends when you punch/kick it). It effectively rendered it quite useless since it's not something I could just "patch up" being in the area that is constantly bending and shifting when I hit the bag.

This is why they only give a 1 year limited warranty. I had mine longer than that, so I knew my chances of getting any kind of assistance or replacement were just about zero. It's a bit sad though considering how much this costs. I'd buy another one if I felt I'd get more than a year out of it, but I'm not that confident.

For someone that will only use this occasionally and / or hits very light, maybe it won't break as quickly.

  5. I am unable to hang a heavy bag anywhere in my house so I decided to purchase a wavemaster training bag. At first I had doubts because I thought it would tip right over but it proved me wrong. After filling the base with water it proved to be both stable and resistant. The only complaint I have is that it tends to move around during my workout but I compensate by circling the bag and hitting from all sides.

  1. Its a great portable timer but I was disappointed that the vibrate mode does not turn off the obnoxious bell sound. You would assume they would be two separate modes like on a cell phone but when I used the vibrate, the bell kept ringing with it.

  2. Poorly assembled, the one I purchased did not work. I exchanged it and the second worked for several workouts, then stopped working. I exchanged that one, and the third works when I can get a battery to stay in it. The battery does not fit properly, and will often pop out, knocking the battery cover loose in the process.

When it actually works, it is marginally useful.

  3. its great. its loud, its not heavy and bulky. still havent figured out y it rings so much when its on vibrate, but o well. it gets the job done

  4. The thing never worked, right out of the package. It counts down alright, but the buzzer and vibrator do not work at all. Junk, dont waste your money.

  5. This is a basic yet functional timer.

    PROS
*Flick of a switch for 2 or 3min rounds and 30 to 1 min rests. Really quick and simple way of setting number of rounds and duration
*Has a warning bell before the end of the round.
*I'd stay its pretty sturdy as i've dropped it a few times/stored it in the bottom of my bag and after 6 months of abuse and mishandling it's still ringing. Battery life seems good as well.

    CONS
*The bell is pretty loud but is often drowned out by background noise during heavy work outs (ie blaring music, people screaming-haha) so for personal use you have to clip it on ur person with vibrate mode. Sadly the clip becomes easily dislodged and the arm strap gets in the way. This is no design fault just basic practicality. Not really a con as such but worth a mention.

All in all its a good, basic, portable backup timer that's easy and fast to use and is decent value for money.
