2 comments about Century Wristwrap Gloves (Red/Black).
  1. When I first got these gloves, they were great. The elastic wristwraps do make it easy to put them on and take them off. However it was not long before most of the padding over the knuckles had shifted to over the back of the hand. The condition got so bad so quickly that I only used the gloves for less than two months before it was too painful to use them anymore. I have never had this problem to this same degree and certainly never so quickly with any other pair of gloves.

  2. I have been boxing for 8 years (sparring three times a week), and my first pair of Century gloves have 'just' worn out. Other people I have boxed with have had to replace their non-Century gloves two sometimes three times since I have had my one pair. The velcro was the first to wear out on my old Century gloves. The one thing I didn't like about the first pair, was that the inner lining eroded around year three, and the foam would come out. At the end of life, the outer red lining started to split, but again this is after 8 years of abuse. I was so excited to purchase my second pair. I love this line of gloves and highly recommend it.

  1. I use Russian Kettlebells as my main exercise method. The ketlebells are very effective at giving a complete workout but they are very hard on my hands so I use these boxer speed wraps to help protect them. There is enough coverage on the palms of my hands to keep the skin from being ripped by the handles and the backs are padded to help protect the backs of my hands and my wrists when I perform snatches. I won't exercize without them.

  2. After spending several hours searching for a right globe for practicing my Thai kick boxing, this is the most practical with reasonable price for me.

Kick boxing doesn't rely much on punching, however using hand to grab and follow with elbow or knee strike. So, this wrap is perfectly match with my need.

the wrap it self is made of good product. it wrap around your hand and wrist which allow you to practice some technique that you don't want to do without reliable protection on your wrist.

Basically, I really enjoy using it. Easy to wear (one minute at most for wearign both of them), secure your hand, and flexible for using with different style of martial art.

  3. I teach kickboxing in a shadow boxing style (that is, we're not actually hitting the bag) and the wraps are good for someone who is not doing anything very rugged. However, I found the velcro attachment under the thumb (that extends and attaches across the palm) is not very sturdy and broke off the glove after 2 classes. It is an important attachment as it secures the wrap around one's hand. I also weight train in them right after kickboxing and the wear and tear from the barbell probably further instigated the problem. Anyway, they start to show wear very quickly and I would like something more durable.

  1. I have been using these for about two months now and couldn't be happier with my purchase.

The pads are enclosed in a heavy sock-like material which breathes very well. They slip on with little effort and are taken off with a bit more effort; I don't like equipment that feels like you will break or tear it by pulling too hard trying to take it off- no worries with this product.
The pads are nice and thick without being too thick. There is plenty padding to keep from breaking your shins, but not so much that you have no feedback.

For a point of reference: I do not spar with these- I use them for bag work (Heavy bag- 100 lbs). Would I feel confident using these in sparring? Absolutely (I am just not sparring right now).

I am picky enough about my equipment that I don't give 5 stars lightly - I honestly could find no fault with these.

5 comments about Grappling Shin Instep Pads.
  1. These pads are amazing. I was very pleases when i received them in the mail. The material is very comfortable, Doesn't cause skin irritation on me and it doesn't hinder my movement in any way. Although it is somewhat set like a mold on the shin it is still very comfortable.
The only down side is that i was mislead about them being easy to slip in and out of. Putting them on Is very easy and the drawstrings are actually quite useful, but they do not come off easily or quickly. I am pleased with the seller and the product and i would advise MMA students these. I myself do Muay Thai and am very happy with them.

  2. They're pretty comfortable, and fit very snug. I've been doing a lot of kicks to a heavy bag, and the difference with and without these is obvious. I will agree with the other person who wrote a review who said they aren't the easiest thing to take off. They go on really easy though. I think it's a combination of sweat plus being out of breath and sore after a work out that makes taking them off a lot harder than getting them on. However, I can't imagine that other products which fit as snugly would be able to come off any easier.

Bottom line is I'd recommend these. Good value, and it saves your shins.

  3. A bit difficult to put on and take off, but that's the beauty of it, it does'nt move from where you place it. You can kick the wall and you barely feel it. Also try to check out there other items, really good quality.

  4. I couldn't agree more with the rest of them. It's very comfortable and light weight. You won't be disappointed as it's really a top quality.

  5. A little hard to get in and out of, but they stay in place wonderfully.

The back where they tie together is starting to tear at the seam after a few months of use, but I don't think they will fall apart any time soon.

    Great value for the price.
