   This was the first shinai I bought for kendo practice and it broke roughly 2 weeks after I received it. It broke while practicing hare-men. I don't particularly recommend this for anyone who wants long term use out of a shinai, but if you need a cheap low quality shinai for practicing your swing, this will be good enough.




2. I think that this product is worth buying: It is good if you arent serious about the sport and want a cheaper alternative to more-expencive products



3. It's priced cheap and you get what you pay for. It's perfect for practice swings but I wouldn't take it against another shinai. The hand-guard is easy to assemble, and if you use it with caution I'm sure it'll last a good while.

1. I'm a self teaching beginner, who believes this hardwood daito is great for its durability against heavy impacts and well carved. However, one of my daito cracked by the tip, creating a hollow sound at every hit. This crack was created not by misuse or ignorant practice, but from a fundamental strike against another daito. Also, though the hand guard might or might not be important, it's not a perfect fit with the daito's shape. If you're a perfectionist, this isn't for your. But if you're practical, this is a great daito to buy =D

1. This is an excellent sword; it has a nice grain and is smoothly polished. All the wrapping on the handle makes it a little thick, but that doesn't bother me; I do think it would be better without it, though. There is only a slight curve to the blade, making it more reminiscent of a traditional Korean blade than a Japanese one (studying Korean martial arts, I tend to favor this style). I do, however, prefer heavier woods, this tends to be average. The price is right and the sword is nice.
