  1. Product far exceeds other products with this description. It is incredibly durable and will not come apart like many of its wooden counterparts as it is a one piece rather than the traditional two piece products. It does have a flaw in that the mold lines were not sanded smooth. The remaining mold lines are very sharp and cut my hand slightly. The answer: wet sand the lines with wet-dry 240 grit sand paper.

  2. I just recently purchased this baton. I haven't had to use to it in a serious situation yet, but I am very impressed. After testing it in many situations, I've come to conclusion that this baton is relatively inexpensive and yet a very nice constructive and very effective method of self-defense.

Thugs and thieves beware! You could really hurt someone with this weapon, especially to prevent the loss of innocent life.

  3. This is a great baton for the money.... it is very durable and would be a capable weapon for any situation. If your looking for a something tough durable lightweight and inexpensive you've found it here

  1. I don't know what it has to do with ninjas, but this little hunk of steel is no joke and no toy. If you know how to hit a little bit but don't enjoy breaking your hand, you can put someone's lights out or worse with this thing. You can attack with a hammerfist or reverse hammerfist as with any pocket stick, or with the spiky projections, you can throw normal punches. Since they focus the entire force of the blow onto two small points made of unyielding steel, even mediocre punchers can inflict deep, paralyzing bruises, torn cartilage, and even broken bones.

Let's not kid around. This may be touted as a nonlethal weapon, and it may (or may not) look better for you if it turns up in a search or in court than, say, a knife or a gun, but the purpose of this or any effective weapon is to harm an attacker until he cannot attack anymore. It can injure, maim, or kill just as surely as a bullet-- just not so easily. So before you bonk someone's coconut with this little item, make sure you consider the moral, spiritual, and legal consequences. As for legal, I can't see why these are any more legal than brass knuckles, which is to say not at all, but I'm not a lawyer, and neither are you.

What I can say is that this thing is a force multiplier. It's not a magic wand, of course, and if you have no force to multiply, well then, X times zero is still zero. Also, I find it slower to deploy than plain pocket sticks, because I have to take a moment to work it into my fist just right. Once it's there, however, look out. I have used it to beat the living daylights out of a big, rolled up carpet. I was afraid at first that my small, untrained wrists would fold up on impact, but they don't. Even non-punchers become punchers with this thing.

I'd take off the keyring, which to me is just in the way. And make sure you're getting the steel version of this, and not the flimsy aluminum version. And be sure to try it out on a sturdy sheet of plywood so you'll see what it can do, and you'll know better than to ever use it on someone who's not trying to maim or rape or kill you.

  2. I just might cut off the two forward prongs,
    too much to carry

the ring is well attached, drilled through not screwed on like some.

  1. There's not much else to say about the sword itself, except that it feels good to hold. It's exactly what you would expect, and is comfortable. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because although it comes with a sheath, it really isn't practical to draw or carry. (Well, this isn't the kind of thing you'd want to carry much, anyway!) Having said that, I think you should get TWO - one for each arm. That's actually the fighting style that might work best with these, and the price means that for under $30 you can feel just like Baraka from Mortal Kombat...

  2. Any "sword" you may find under $100 are basically made out of "trash metals", which can be chopped out by real knife at similar price. Although they may have sharpened edges, metals like 420J stainless steel are too soft for working blade; such metals are usually used for cheap kitchen knives.
Some sellers comment on such cheap swords something like "battle-ready" or "fully-working edge", but in fact, they are purely for decoration purposes no matter the edges are sharpened or not. If you need a cheap, working blade for some reason, it is better idea to get a camping machette. (Of course such swords can still be very dangerous anyway, but do not expect any miracle from the cheap metals. They are nothing more than toy.)

  3. Firstly, for any of you who are even fimiliar with the Bloodrayne titles (which you should be if you are looking at these)there is no reason why you would want to look like that guy from Mortal Kombat if you buy these. Second, these swords are "trash metal" and are not good for anything other than decoration. Unless you go to the ressisance festival or are just really into Bloodrayne then dont get these.

  4. If these are the Bloodrayne replicas, I weep for the series. However, these are quite a fun purchase, as they seem sturdy enough to actually do some damage. Putting them together when I opened the boxes was a surprise, and while it was tedious trying to put them together with the low-quality allen wrenches provided that strip quickly, it was fun in the sense that you have something to do with the manufacture of your weapons. The handle and arm rest are both plastic, although they seem to be a higher quality plastic than normally found on weapons priced similarly. However, the tacky part is the poorly made velcro (yes, VELCRO) straps that hold the blade onto your arm. My advice: get two thin leather belts you don't mind cutting up, and make your own arm straps. The handle works well, though, and they look wicked when you have them on. If you can find them locally, buy them in a pair if you have some spare cash. Otherwise, don't spend the money it takes to have them shipped to you.

  5. got a couple of these by mistake and the dealer told me just to keep them. i thought they were a little wierd but my friends really like them.

  1. Recieved product in timely manner, within 3 days of ordering. Slightly disappointed as the baton does not really have a foam grip as stated but more of a rubber grip instead. Also weight at front not fully seated on baton handle but will not affect usage. Am going to use rods in my old baton until I can fix my other rods and find a way to put a soft foam grip on the new one. For now will be used as a backup but over all adequate for $20.00. Would like decsription to be a liitle more specific when describing what type of foam handle soft or hard would be nice. Do like the fact that the rods when expanded are TIGHT and (NOT) wiggly like another baton I bouhgt two years ago. 2&1/2 to maybe 3 stars for this item. You might be better buying a Casco or ASP if you can afford but if not this will do until you can.

  2. This Steel Baton isn't too bad. It's heavier than I thought it would be. Once I practice swinging it enough, the weight won't effect me. It will definetly help to build my wrist ~hahaa

I don't recommend any women purchasing this item, because if you can't hang onto it after a few strikes. The opponent would most likely take it from you.

Let me tell you a couple things that they fail to mention. This Steel Baton feels like it weighs 5 pounds. To close it, you have to slam the top on cemented ground.

The price wasn't bad, but I sure hope it last long. I can only imagine that opening, and closing it after awhile will take it's toll.

  1. ok so i ordered this item saturday night and it came to my house wednesday around noon, which was great because i was expecting it to come friday. and when i opened it, it was solid, hefty and seemed like decent quality metal.

    but...

it takes a real strong snap to fully extend to a point where it will not retract. and after a couple good hits on something hard, it will bend and look retarded. and thats if it doesnt retract on you because first time i tested on a pole, it just became real loose and collapsed. and after i snapped it open really hard and hit the post a couple of times, the top piece bent and it would not close properly. it took me a good number of whacks on the same pole to get it straight-ish again.

oh well, for 16 bucks, i guess i was expecting a lil too much. I guess i have to look up mods to try and improve it. i got what i paid for, so next time i will just cough up the extra 50-70 and buy an asp.

  2. This is a nice piece of hardware. Baton telescope at flick of wrist. It has to be jammed into something as hard as cement to get retracted. The harder you swing out baton, the more force you will need for it to retract.

Good for defense. Not too expensive like the ASP brand, but this will do for my wife and I.

The handle is rubber with a diamond style grip. The steel baton is sturdy. Friction keeps baton retracted until you swing it and expanded before you force close it.

Overall quality/price ratio is good. I would only use as defense, and SERIOUSLY. This is no toy, and can and will hurt somebody or something.

  3. This is my first time buying an extendable baton, and I am happy with it. I gave it only 3 stars because it can be a little hard to close it up again, and it's a little heavier than I expected. But it opens and locks into full extension in about 1 second, and I have no doubt I could easily defend myself from someone or some animal intent on doing me harm.

  4. I was pretty satisfied with this product. Its not as tough as the more expensive ASP batons but unless you need one everyday, you cant go wrong with this ecspecially for the price. When I first got it once extending it, it was really difficult to close, but after unscrewing the end cap and spraying some WD40 in it, it worked perfectly.

  5. What do you expect for 16 bucks? This is cheaply made and fell apart the day I got it.

The end cap on the handle is not the correct size and just falls off which makes it impossible to collapse the baton. I would save your money.
